Everything has a Ying and a Yang, and this month members have come up with some truly facinating duel good vs evil ideas. I have to say I never even heard of a few of them, but I admit I am not an expert just a humble administrator.
Anyway it should make for interesting voting, and I would be stunned if we did not see some close calls, even though this month is a blind vote.
On a personal note it was nice that someone took my comment about Gollum to heart and added him in.
As usual I promote discussion about the ideas, so don't be shy in commenting on your favourite and stating why, even if you did not originally suggest him.
And as always Thanks goes to Chris for taking time out of his hectic schedule to select the list from this months thread.
yes indeed, no Cave Troll pierced Frodo in the books.. something we must be careful when being true to the books , here the exact text :
But even as they retreated, and before Pippin and Merry had reached the stair outside, a huge orc-chieftain, almost man-high, clad in black mail from head to foot, leaped into the chamber; behind him his followers clustered in the doorway. His broad flat face was swart, his eyes were like coals, and his tongue was red; he wielded a great spear. With a thrust of his huge hide shield he turned Boromir's sword and bore him backwards, throwing him to the ground. Diving under Aragorn's blow with the speed of a striking snake he charged into the Company and thrust with his spear straight at Frodo. The blow caught him on the right side, and Frodo was hurled against the wall and pinned
Lord of the Rings, Book 2, Chapter 4 : A Journey in the Dark
There indeed may have been a cave troll but not linked to Frodo's piercing...
Well I've voted for my own suggestion, but there are several here that deserve to win, and I wouldn't object to most of them in the slightest. Amazing how the movies are beginning to colour (nay, pollute) our visions and memories of the books, though - I can't read LOTR these days without unwittingly and unwillingly seeing the dratted movie actors in my mind, so I can sympathise and empathise with Master Holger's momentary lapse!
"A worthy man, but his memory is like a lumber-room: thing wanted always buried."
Iluvatar me from opposing the majority, as I am a newcomer. If requested ideas on rules, jump can be Dibert, but do not get to put the guidelines. Have been put forward good ideas that fit in other vignettes, except that some are determined by who had to follow. Anyway frodo fleeing a large cave troll always gives a lot of play because the troll Frodo to flee, not fight like Aragorn.

twrich: Welcome, Jackie! The website has recently been redesigned, and I'm not sure if most members know about the "Shoutbox." I hope you enjoy our crazy group!

ddaines: Haven't a clue, Master Tree, maybe an oportunity to make a quick announcement?!?

Theobald: Well, Master David, maybe you're right. Though ... to be honest, I tried to shout at that box several times within the last few days ... I couldn't even witness an echo. So, strange thing that is, as I never preferred to shout whenever I do try to speak. ;
