Welcome to another exciting chance to add your ideas and dreams to Mithril's LOTR miniatures. Post your suggestions here. ONE per member.
This month's ideas are for single and mounted figures only, so no Vignettes (more than 2 people or a lot of furniture + two people) please.
The only other restriction is that the figures MUST conform to our license, so NO Silmarillion based characters are allowed. They have to be in the Hobbit or LOTR books. The final say is ours and no arguement will be allowed. Ask if you are worried about its eligibility.
Please submit ideas in the following format ONLY:
IDEA TITLE
"this is why I think 'Idea Title' is a good idea for this month..."
Make the title stand out (within reason) and separate from any supportive text by a paragragh. This will prevent Chris accidently overlooking it when he compiles the voting list later on. Otherwise it could be mistaken as a comment not a new suggestion.
Please add some quotes about where it is mentioned or give descriptions to promote your suggestion. Even add a picture or submit it to me to add to the gallery page. If you drum up support NOW, the you have a much better chance when it is time to vote.
Voting will begin on the 15th of August (first round). We stop taking suggestions at 16.00 GMT on the 14th.
You may add comments about other members suggestions as well. If you post any suggestions elsewhere it may not be seen or credited. Please post any suggestions in English. (That is all I can respond in, sorry).

Raider of Harad mounted on a camel. He should have either a sword or spear in hand and a sheild somewhere on him or the mount as well as a bow and arrows

[glow=red,2,300]Gimli and Legolas riding Arod[/glow]
Arod was the grey/white horse given to Legolas by the Riders of Rohan in The Two Towers. Arod originally belonged to a Rider of Rohan, but his master was slain in a battle with orcs near Fangorn Forest. The next day, Eomer lent Arod to Legolas. Arod was a fiery and restive horse, but Legolas rode him easily without saddle or rein. Gimli was not so comfortable on Arod, however; and he clung to his friend uneasily. The Three Hunters rode the edge of Fangorn Forest seeking Merry and Pippin. After the War of the Ring, Legolas and Gimli also rode Arod in the funeral procession of King Theoden from Minas Tirith to Meduseld.

BLACK SERPENT UPON SCARLET "Then he was filled with a red wrath and shouted aloud, and displaying his standard, black serpent upon scarlet, he came against the white horse......" I nominate the king of the Haradrim's mounted standard bearer at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields. Either holding the standard aloft, or on rearing horse as Theoden sweeps towards him ready to cut him down, holding the standard back while he vainly tries to parry Theoden's sword.

Mounted Commander from Far-Harad
(Alas, David, your suggestion is very close to mine. I kept this for weeks now awaiting suggestions for a mounted release. I hope you don't mind that I dare to post my suggestion, too.)
The noble commander of the troops from Far-Harad before Minas Tirith is mounted on a horse or camel. He doesn't have a shield, just a scimitar (or a falcata) sheathed. His rich garment reveils a hint of an ornamented breastplate. He wears a conical helmet (as from Parthia or Assur) and the lower part of his face is hidden by a veil. Also his mount is richly decorated and shows no sign of movement, just as its rider. Both just express a silent threat to their foes.

Thanks to all fellowship members who supported the mailed skeleton! This month I'd like to suggest a brilliant female after so much brilliant male suggestions. I think the text below gives enough imagination for the most beautiful elf lady on a proud horse;) The only wish I have is that Arwens horse should be not so huge as the one of Galadriel in armour (M400) I like the horse of Celeborn much more as a elven steed (M211) mithril.faerylands.eu/display.php?reference=M211Lady Arwen mounted riding to her wedding ...Upon the very eve of midsummer when the sky was blue as sapphire and white stars opened in the East, but the West was still golden, and the air was cool and fragrant, the riders came down the North-way to the gates of Minas Tirith. First rode Elrohir and Elladan with a banner of silver, and after them came Glorfindel and Erestor and all the household of Rivendell, and after them came the Lady Galadriel and Celeborn, Lord of Lothlorien, riding upon white steeds and with them many fair folk of their land, grey-cloaked with white gems in their hair; and last came Master Elrond, mighty among Elves and Men, bearing the sceptre of Annúminas, and beside him upon a grey palfrey rode Arwen his daughter, Evenstar of her people.
And Frodo when he saw her come glimmering in the evening, with stars on her brow and a sweet fragrance about her, was moved with great wonder, and he said to Gandalf: 'At last I understand why we have waited! This is the ending. Now not day only shall be beloved, but night too shall be beautiful and blessed and all its fear pass away!'
Then the King welcomed his guests, and they alighted; and Elrond surrendered the sceptre, and laid the hand of his daughter in the hand of the King, and together they went up into the High City, and all the stars flowered in the sky. And Aragorn the King Elessar wedded Arwen Undomiel in the City of the Kings upon the day of midsummer, and the tale of their long waiting and labours was come to fulfilment. The Lord of the Rings The Return of the King, Chapter V - The Steward and the King

Merry sounds the horn of Rohan 'Sam, you can make a dash for Cotton's farm, if you like. He's the chief person round here, and the sturdiest. Come on! I am going to blow the horn of Rohan, and give them all some music they have never heard before.' They rode back to the middle of the village. There Sam turned aside and galloped off down the lane that led south to Cotton's. He had not gone far when he heard a sudden clear horn-call go up ringing into the sky. Far over hill and field it echoed; and so compelling was that call that Sam himself almost turned and dashed back. His pony reared and neighed.

wow... great suggestions this month. I couldn's suggest any better, so I will vote for merry or Legolas/Gimly. I really love last one, but I think that other hobbit mounted will be great for mithril range. I cannot choose , could't be both?

Indeed no Master Tree, we have so few chances of mounted figures, that if a suggestion has been on your mind for some time, go for it with my best wishes . Sorry for not responding earlier but I have not visited the forum for a while.

We have many good suggestions this month. I would be happy for any of them. Still, they are not very many total.
So I will suggest an old name that has come close to winning, but never quite made it. I have suggested him as a part of a vignette in the past. Perhaps now is his time as a mounted figure, which I think would be his most natural depiction.
[glow=red,2,300]Elfhelm, Marshal of the East Mark![/glow]
A lord of Rohan and later Marshal of the East-mark; he fought with Grimbold in the First Battle of the Fords of Isen after the loss of Théodred.
I picture him mounted and attired in full Rohan battle gear. Not fancy plate armor but something fitting a high officer of the Rohirrim. Naturally his horse would be provisioned at the same high level. Chris has always produced high quality pieces depicting mounted Rohirrim.
Elfhelm has yet to be produced in any Mithril range (unless I am mistaken), and is one of the last major Rohir figures left for Chris.

[shadow=purple,left,300]Great Goblin & Warg[/shadow] History: A great Orc-chieftain who led a tribe of Goblins within the Misty Mountains. His people were allied with the largest, fiercest wolves of the region. Many rode these bloodthirsty beasts into battle. Although never mentioned, it’s likely that the Great Goblin once rode upon the back of one of these furry nightmares.
Idea: The Great Goblin, fully robed, and in all his glory, rides on the back of an enormous wolf-like creature. Perhaps he is surveying his troop formations from atop a hill, or maybe he’s at the forefront of a military column. Regardless, the king wears his crown proudly and holds his scepter high. Of course there’s a curved sword hanging from his belt just in case!
