Welcome to another exciting chance to add your ideas and dreams to Mithril's LOTR miniatures. Post your suggestions here. ONE per member.
This month's ideas is for single figures only, so no mounted or Vignettes (more than 2 people or a lot of furniture + two people) please. A mounted figure counts as two figures (horse/camel/warg/etc)
The only other restriction is that the figures MUST conform to our license, so NO Silmarillion based characters are allowed. They have to be in the Hobbit or LOTR books. The final say is ours and no arguement will be allowed. Ask if you are worried about its eligibility.
Please submit ideas in the following format ONLY:
IDEA TITLE "this is why I think 'Idea Title' is a good idea for this month..."
Make the title stand out (within reason) and separate from any supportive text by a paragragh. This will prevent Chris accidently overlooking it when he compiles the voting list later on. Otherwise it could be mistaken as a comment not a new suggestion.
Please add some quotes about where it is mentioned or give descriptions to promote your suggestion. Even add a picture or submit it to me to add to the gallery page. If you drum up support NOW, the you have a much better chance when it is time to vote.
Voting will begin on the 21st of June and run until the 1st of July. We stop taking suggestions at 16.00 GMT on the 19th.
You may add comments about other members suggestions as well. If you post any suggestions elsewhere it may not be seen or credited. Please post any suggestions in English. (That is all I can respond in, sorry).

Please resuggest the swans luthien4tinuvielle!
They have many supporters! And they will have my vote next time in any case. Don't be too much disappointed, I was surprised also about the result.
And many thanks to all Razarac supporters!

One King is still missing in the Mithril range: I'd like to suggest: Brego, King of Rohan at MeduseldBrego ( TA 2512 - 70) was the second King of Rohan. He drove the last remnants of the Orcs and Balchoth out of the Wold, and let build the Golden Hall of Meduseld. Brego died of grief over the loss of his son Baldor. I suggest the noble Rohir King in royal garments and circlet or crown and with a large drinking horn with embroidered rim in his hand, He is just at the feast to celebrate the new build Hall, were his eldest son Baldor made the vow to treat the paths of the Dead. Cheers and go on thinking and suggesting, dear collector fellows!

Queen Mirien of GondorShe embodies in her person the spririt of Minas Ithil. She is a tall and slender Dunadan woman with long, straight balck hair and eyes of the deepest brown. She favors elegant and elaborate robes and wears little jewelry other than a delicate diadem set with a many-hued opal." Mirien is a character from Minas Ithil ICE module (as Junast is another one). The picture is part of the book and remains copyright to ICE

My dear Mithril-maniacs (as I privately like to call you), after having been the winner of two suggestions within only half a year lately (after some other "winners" in the past),I hope you can well understand that I need some rest. With this entry I just want to assure you, that I always take part in the votings since these votings do exist. And, yes, to be honest ... since then I always hoped that some more people around here would do likewise. Sorry, I just wanted to point out that again.

Alas! Need for some rest by making good suggestions which have so many supporters to be winners? Thats odd.... the more suggestions the more rich will be the range to vote for, and being a winner means WE ALL can have that figure, please think about that dear Mithril-maniac! There is a list with many figure suggestions that still slumber in the liquid lead-bucket.... You just have to resuggest one of those and bring them to life! Thats my opinion. The list of good suggestions growns thin lately, Why?

Hm, thank you Halbarad II, somehow you're right.By the way I'm really glad you're still into this. So I will reconsider. And there's time left. Though I will not get back to re-suggestions placed by others before. It's not what I ever did.

Ulgarin, half-elf priestess of AngmarFrom ICE's Angmar (2018): Born into the royal court of the Avar Elf-queen Dardanen, Ulgarin spent her childhood splashing in the island surf, running races in the tiled halls of the palace, and watching the sun rise over the Eastern Ocean. She paid little heed to the political realities surrounding her until the Queen ordered Ulgarin's mother put to death by the ancient method, gwaen-en-wiroithe, or pressing, for treachery. The Lady of the Prith-an-Iryst ("Tower of the Rainbow") lay down beneath a board of polished thornwood and stones were placed on top of it, one by one, to crush her.
Ulgarin's allegiances shifted rapidly. She began to master the ways of channeling while learning and remembering the views held by all the nobles of Dardarien's court. Sometimes she would use her growing powers and increasing knowledge to crush an enemy or change a royal decree, but more often she merely observed events without meddling, knowing that her time would come.
When Dardarien formed an alliance between her realm, Helkanen, and the Womaw kingdom ruled by Komûl (later Khamûl the Easterling), the Queen commanded Ulgarin to create a secret order of priests who would make the Womaw peoples submit to the will of Sauron of Mordor. The Half-elf founded the Belaen-an-Voryl ("Sunsdeath from Hunger") and frequently traveled to the lands where her disciples spoke of Edainil, the "Friend of Men." When Komûl's Hiona revolted, placing his cousin Aon upon the throne, and the Nazgûl departed for the Land of Shadows, Ulgarin remained in the East. Although the Womaw had escaped the direct rule of Shadow, they could yet be swayed by the deceits and bribes of her priests.
Across the centuries of the Second Age, Ulgarin taught the tenets of evil to the inhabitants of Móak, Cuivac Womaw, Worn Shryac, and Góak. The tides of darkness ebbed and flowed, but always the Free Peoples faced an adversary. The high-priest won her reward. When Angmar rose in the west, the Dark Lord called Ulgarin to a new position within the Witch-king's hierarchy. Under the direction of the Angûlion, she would continue her work on a larger scale. All the lands of the East, not merely its furthest penninsula, would receive the Half-elf's attention. Her priests now travel the forests of Aegan, the foothills of Unvirnay, the plains of Kargagis Ahar and Kykurian Kyn, and all of Endor, spying on, intimidating, and manipulating the peoples of these regions. Ulgarin would be portrayed with her three principal items -- her veil, trident, and wrislet. I believe one of her fellow Gulmathaur, Ulduin (Orc-Man-Dog hybrid) was suggested by someone else months ago, but didn't make it past the second round. I was originally going to suggest something else, but I happened to be browsing Angmar last night and I couldn't resist. Of course Khamûl's name is mentioned in Unfinished Tales, so it would have to be removed from the official description. Maybe even his "human" name Komûl as well, because it's so similar.

As much as I complain that new Tolkien fans have their perceptions clouded by the Peter Jackson movies, the truth is, when I think about Tolkien today, I'm much more likely to view it through the prism of ICE's MERP, or the Bakshi film. I admit it's not authentic, and more than a little odd, but really, don't we have enough Gandalfs? It's just a suggestion anyway -- I'm sure I'll be happy with whatever wins!

Actually I alway support names from the the LotR or hobbit books... not from PJ movies or just ICE MERP characters... but this is interesting...we do not have a lot of elven priestess.....

RANGER OF THE NORTH AT REST
A Ranger sat at a camp fire roasting a bird (Pied Swan? ) over a spit. Ranger would be sat on a log or large stone, leaning forward as he tends to his supper slowly roasting.
He could have his cloak about him, his pack and blanket, sword and other weapons close at hand, and possibly on the edge of the fire heating water, a small kettle or pot.
It could be Aragorn on the hunt for Gollum, or simply a travelling Ranger on watch over the Shire.

Black Troll-men of Far Harad Mentioned twice in the Return of the King in the chapter The Battle of the Pelennor Fields: And out of Far Harad black men like Half-trolls with white eyes and red tongues. East rode the Knights of Dol Amroth driving the enemy before them: troll-men and variags and orcs that hated the sunlight.

The problem I have these days, as a fan who prefers JRRT's book characters to the Fantasy inventions of ICE, is that there are very few named characters who've yet to be produced (if one excepts the numerous named but incidental "spear-carriers" – as Shakespeare might have called them - of Rohan and the Shire). I'd suggest Elfhelm - yet again - except I'd prefer to see him mounted. So instead I'll suggest
ELLADAN ON THE PATHS OF THE DEAD
- carrying a torch, and cloaked and attired akin to the Rangers of the North, complete with rayed star brooch pinning his cloak at the left shoulder.

An old suggestion of mine :
YOUNG ROHIRRIM BOY
hunting or playing around, (or defending at Helm’s deep).
the boy figure has ‘lended’ the arrows and bow of his father ; he should be ca. the same size as the Bergil figure (M196), but with longer hair, in the usual Rohir clothes, with a tunic onto his knees, no mail coat as it would be to heavy for a young boy anyway, a pot helm on his head, a quiver on his back (of course a little to big for him), and his fathers bow in his hands. He can be standing at rest, or firing, or putting an arrow on his bow (like the pose of the woodman bowman loading, M401). I would prefer the loading pose.
Another attempt to get some more child figures in the Mithril range ; thanks in advance for supporting this idea !

I will suggest (again) a Female Lossoth.
She could be wearing furs and have a large sack on her back, or perhaps a load of wood she had hunted for to heat the cooking pots over the fire back home. In this scene she would have snowshoes under her boots.
Or . . . Chris could make her a whimsical figure, ice-skating (skates made of sharpened bone from antlers) on a frozen pond with a light cloak, unhooded with her hair flying in the air as she twirls around.
Let's give the Lossoth Hunter a wife!!! ;-)
