Welcome to another exciting chance to add your ideas and dreams to Mithril's LOTR miniatures. Post your suggestions here. ONE per member.
This month's ideas is for single figures only, so no mounted or Vignettes (more than 2 people or a lot of furniture + two people) please. A mounted figure counts as two figures (horse/camel/warg/etc)
The only other restriction is that the figures MUST conform to our license, so NO Silmarillion based characters are allowed. They have to be in the Hobbit or LOTR books. The final say is ours and no arguement will be allowed. Ask if you are worried about its eligibility.
Please submit ideas in the following format ONLY:
IDEA TITLE "this is why I think 'Idea Title' is a good idea for this month..."
Make the title stand out (within reason) and separate from any supportive text by a paragragh. This will prevent Chris accidently overlooking it when he compiles the voting list later on. Otherwise it could be mistaken as a comment not a new suggestion.
Please add some quotes about where it is mentioned or give descriptions to promote your suggestion. Even add a picture or submit it to me to add to the gallery page. If you drum up support NOW, the you have a much better chance when it is time to vote.
Voting will begin on the 18th of September. We stop taking suggestions at 16.00 GMT on the 17th.
You may add comments about other members suggestions as well. If you post any suggestions elsewhere it may not be seen or credited. Please post any suggestions in English. (That is all I can respond in, sorry).

BILBO, SITTING, SMOKING HIS PIPE
Bilbo sitting comfortably, legs extended in front of him, resting, smoking his pipe. This is a happy day, he ate his second breakfast and waiting for the next meal, he took advantage of a moment of pure happiness.

Dunhere Captain of Rohan He was the Lord of Harrowdale and the nephew of Erkenbrand. He survived the battle at the Fords of Isen, but fell in the battle of Pelennor Fields, to the great grief of Westfold.

Forlong the Fat
(Resubmission) Un-horsed and standing at bay holding a great axe as the soldiers of Mordor close in to deal him his death-blows at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields.
I see a ragged figure with a grim, defiant look on his face as he faces his foes. His cloak would be torn and he would be in a fighting crouch (belly allowing) .

GANDALF AT BALIN'S TOMB
Because it's wizard sales time, I suggest Gandalf reading the book he found next to Balin's Tomb. I don't think we have a Gandalf figure reading a book.

Treebeard, Guardian of Fangorn Forest
Fangorn (S.: 'beard-tree' Ent, the guardian of Fangorn Forest. At the time of the War oft the Ring (WR) Fangorn was the oldest surviving Ent, and thus the oldest living being in Middle-Earth. Fangorn was responsible for arousing the ents against Saruman during the WR, he probably also sent the Huorns to the Hornburg. Fangorn was bearded, and seems to have resembled an evergreen tree. Called in Westron Treebeard; he was called Eldest by Celeborn.
My suggestion this to have him without Hobbits. In a wise and thoughtful pose.
This is how Treebeard is described in the novel at his first appearance: (The Lord of the Rings, The two Towers, Book 3, Chapter IV 'TREEBEARD")
...High up, almost level with the tops of forest-trees, there was a shelf under a cliff. nothing grew there but a few grasses and weeds at its edge, and one old stump of a tree with only two bend branches left; it looked almost like the figure of some gnarled old man, standing there, blinking in the morning-light.
...They found that they were looking at a most extraordinary face. It belonged to a large man-like, almost troll-like, figure at least fourteen foot high, very sturdy, with a tall head, and hardly any neck. whether it was clad in stuff like green and grey bark, or whether that was its hide, was difficult to say. At any rate the arms, at a short distance from the trunk, were not wrinkled, but covered with a brown smooth skin. The large feet had seven toes each. The lower part of the long face was covered with a sweeping grey beard, bushy, almost twiggy at the roots, thin and mossy at the ends. But at the moment the Hobbits noted little but the eyes. These deep eyes were now surveying them, slow and solemn, but very penetrating. They were brown, shot with a green light.

Once again I will suggest another peasant.
ERIADOREAN GRANDMA FEEDING THE CHICKEN
“Since the farmer died she is in charge of the household. She is quite old and quite fat but still healthy because of the quiet life. She is wearing a long apron. One of her hands is picking a small grain basket; the other one extended is feeding the chicken. A small chicken is pecking at it. Her hair is in a bun and there is always a deep smile in her face”

Thanks to Master Thingol for suggesting Elfhelm, who I've been suggesting for years (literally); but I've always felt that he should ideally be mounted, so on this occasion I've opted for a certain fat gentleman with an axe. I only hope that this time he's rendered genuinely FAT, and not just mildly overweight!

That's what I always imagined. The version of him on a horse might have been called "Forlong on a diet" (on a horse with no name) - as for mounting, I think no less than a good shire-horse would do

wasn't it Forlong who was called the FAT, and not Elfhelm? I think you've picked up the wrong end of the stick, Master Halbarad. It's Forlong who's being discussed - I just happened to mention Elfhelm in the context of voting for Forlong rather than him.
