In response to some issues raised on the board, the problem of what is allowed under the terms of our licence is somewhat difficult to judge. Although the appendices to LotR contain mention of many of the First and Second-age characters, very often Middle-earth Enterprises will disallow these figures. However on occasion they operate on the principle of precedent, when for example, ICE have used characters which appear in the Silmarillion and also in LotR. It is a difficult call for me as there is always the uncertainty as to whether figures in this grey area will be allowed. I therefore, usually err on the side of caution, so as not to make a figure which might be rejected. On a further matter, in reply to Maxtarna’s point about being faithful to Tolkien’s own vision of Middle-earth, I would say that due to the dearth of any great amount of physical description of races, peoples and cultures (except possibly the Dwarves), the only person who really knew Tolkien’s vision of these things was Tolkien himself. All the rest of us can do is use the little clues that he gives us, as a guide and do our best to extrapolate as faithfully as possible. But this inevitably, is a subjective process and our individual visions of the “look” of Middle-earth will always differ to some extent. Chris Tubb

A shame that the Balrog was omitted due to size (assuming it was considered necessary to produce it to the same size as the original Balrog), personally I thought the size of the entombed Balrog to be a much closer match proportionally to Mithril figures .

This drawing of mine shows how I could imagine the Hobbit farmer. I know, Hobbits seldom wear shoes – but at muddy work or rainy weather they indeed may wear boots like the dwarves. – indeed there is already one female Hobbit with shoes: M323 B

Very nice suggestions this time, I like at least five of them! My first intention was to vote for the Oathbreaker of Dunharow, since it was more Halloween related, but then I saw the overall votes and shifted my vote to Gildor, who I really want to be produced. Will save the Oathbreaker suggestion for another time because I like the idea ^^ Hobbit farmer was my third preference! love it too xD

Do we usually get to vote for the top three or just the top 2? Kind of obvious to why I ask.

Michael decides, but it's usually the top three.
