Chris Tubb has submitted the list of approved ideas today. He excluded Ar-Pharazon as it apparently does not fall within the scope of our license. However nine great ideas have made it through. You have until the 24th to submit your vote. You will see the current status of the poll after you submit your vote. On the 24th we will start the 2nd poll with the top 2 or 3 finalists.

Ar-Pharazon the Golden. The Last Numenorian King
I imagine the figure is standing with his right hand, clenched, in the air. His robes are swirling about him while his left hand is grasping the hilt of his elaborate sword/ scabbard. He should be older in appearance, being that he was "besotted with the fear of death". The base should be the shoreline of Aman with the hint of ocean waves.
Welcome to another exciting chance to add your ideas and dreams to Mithril's LOTR miniatures. Post your suggestions here. ONE per member. This month's ideas is for single figures only, so no mounted or Vignettes (more than 2 people or a lot of furniture + two people) please. A mounted figure counts as two figures (horse/camel/warg/etc) The only other restriction is that the figures MUST conform to our license, so NO Silmarillion based characters are allowed. They have to be in the Hobbit or LOTR books. The final say is ours and no argument will be allowed. Ask if you are worried about its eligibility. Please submit ideas in the following format ONLY: IDEA TITLE"this is why I think 'Idea Title' is a good idea for this month..." Make the title stand out (within reason) and separate from any supportive text by a paragraph. This will prevent Chris accidentally overlooking it when he compiles the voting list later on. Otherwise it could be mistaken as a comment not a new suggestion. Please add some quotes about where it is mentioned or give descriptions to promote your suggestion. Even add a picture or submit it to me to add to the gallery page. If you drum up support NOW, the you have a much better chance when it is time to vote. Voting will begin on the 17th of May. We stop taking suggestions at 16.00 GMT on the 16th. You may add comments about other members suggestions as well. If you post any suggestions elsewhere it may not be seen or credited. Please post any suggestions in English. (That is all I can respond in, sorry).

Springtime – time for love and new life...I'd like to resuggest a touching-the-heart-scene : Inspired by the very last passage and last words of the novel: 'Well, I'm back, ' he said.Samwise seated with baby Elanor on his lapSamwise Gamgee the Hobbit in an Hobbit-sized chair, (maybe an comfy armchair) with a tiny, tiny Hobbit baby girl (six months old) upon his lap, both looking at each other, smiling and laughing. The Lord of the Rings The Return of the King Chapter IX The Grey Havens
At last the three companions turned away, and never again looking back they rode slowly homewards; and they spoke no word to one another until they came back to the Shire, but each had great comfort in his friends on the long grey road. At last they rode over the downs and took the East Road, and then Merry and Pippin rode on to Buckland, and already were singing again as they went. But Sam turned to Bywater, and so came back up the Hill, as the day was ending once more. And he went on, and there was yellow light, and a fire within; and the evening meal was ready, and he was expected. And Rose drew him in, and set him in his chair, and put little Elanor upon his lap. He drew a deep breath. 'Well, I'm back, ' he said.

Aragorn kneeled with the sapling of the white tree
Then Aragorn cried: 'Yé! utúvienyes! I have found it! Lo! here is a scion of the Eldest of Trees! But how comes it here? For it is not itself yet seven years old.' And Gandalf coming looked at it, and said: 'Verily this is a sapling of the line of Nimloth the fair; and that was a seedling of Galathilion, and that a fruit of Telperion of many names, Eldest of Trees. Who shall say how it comes here in the appointed hour? But this is an ancient hallow, and ere the kings failed or the Tree withered in the court, a fruit must have been set here. For it is said that, though the fruit of the Tree comes seldom to ripeness, yet the life within may then lie sleeping through many long years, and none can foretell the time in which it will awake. Remember this. For if ever a fruit ripens, it should be planted, lest the line die out of the world. Here it has lain, hidden on the mountain, even as the race of Elendil lay hidden in the wastes of the North. Yet the line of Nimloth is older far than your line, King Elessar.' Then Aragorn laid his hand gently to the sapling, and lo! it seemed to hold only lightly to the earth, and it was removed without hurt; and Aragorn bore it back to the Citadel. Then the withered tree was uprooted, but with reverence; and they did not burn it, but laid it to rest in the silence of Rath Dínen. And Aragorn planted the new tree in the court by the fountain, and swiftly and gladly it began to grow; and when the month of June 1 entered in it was laden with blossom. Sorry everyone, I'm going back to my usual suggestion!
FRECA Lord of lands alongside the source of the River Adorn
Freca was a fat, arrogant, dark-haired descendant of King Freawine who appears to have had "much Dunlendish blood" in his veins, and probably considered himself more Dunlending than Rohirrim. Certainly he held King Helm Hammerhand in sufficient contempt that he demanded the king's daughter as a bride for his son Wulf (Mithril figure MS280). His main claim to fame in Rohan history is that he was killed by a single blow from Helm's mighty fists.
It's hard to be certain of much else, but when he turned up for Helm's council he brought many men with him, so it seems likely he intended to start trouble, and would therefore have been dressed ready for battle, albeit probably over his finest clothes. His hair, arms and clothes are likely to have been an exotic mix of Dunlendish and Rohirrim styles.
If he should win (ha ha...), can he be genuinely obese, please Chris, not just mildly tubby? Ta.

RaggerThe Raggers (D."Ragh Creann-Sleagh" or "Raging Pikes") were a traditional class of professional Soldiers in Eriador, especially Cardolan. These Raggers were for the most part, descendants of Númenórean Colonists or Warriors who took indigenious women and passed their craft and profession on to their sons and grandsons. The Raggers were considered Tergil or "lesser Dúnedain" and were renowned Fighters, especially Pikemen.Aditionally to their traditional set of arms, the High-Helmet, Hauberk and Pike they also used a weapon unique to them, a kind of backsword known as the Ragger's Knife.

Balchoth WarriorThe Balchoth were a fierce Eastering tribe under the sway of Dol Guldur. They lived in the lands to the east of Mirkwood and were possible related to the Wainriders. They attacked Gondor in TA 2510 and overran the plains of Calenardhon and almost destroyed the army of the Ruling Steward Cirion. It was only with the coming of the Eotheod under Eorl the Young at the Battle of the Field of Celebrant that they were defeated and Gondor was saved. Attachments:

Déorwine - the Chief of the King's Riders during the War of the Ring
Story tells that he was slain along with six of his knights at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields in Gondor. He was buried in the Mounds of Mundburg and memorialized in Song of the Mounds of Mundburg.... Another great Rohan charachter ready to be in the Rohan's Mithril hall of fame...

Dwarf of Dain's army THE HOBBIT. CHAPTER 17. THE CLOUDS BURST
"Dain had come. He had hurried on through the night, and so had come upon them sooner than they had expected. Each one of his folk was clad in a hauberk of steel mail that hung to his knees, and his legs were covered with hose of a fine and flexible metal mesh, the secret of whose making was possessed by Dain's people. The dwarves are exceedingly strong for their height, but most of these were strong even for dwarves. In battle they wielded heavy two- handed mattocks; but each of them had also a short broad sword at his side and a round shield slung at his back. Their beards were forked and plaited and thrust into their belts. Their caps were of iron and they were shod with iron, and their faces were grim".

A Shire Messenger - taking a nap
Fine suggestions all around. Just imagining them is joy :-)
Just throwing in the messenger again, but this time taking a nap - his head resting on the bag with urgent messages, hands folded over his impressive belly and the cap over his eyes, he is desperately trying to avoid a burnout from delivering too many letters (two) between his second and third breakfast.
EDIT: bah - missed the deadline - no problem... my votes then goes to the other Hobbits :-)

Why was there a Tar Minaster figure or a Annatar & Celebrimbor vignette? I thought only Silmarillon subjects were excluded. I would think that the King that caused the downfall of Numenor would be as important as an orc female archer.

So far we have not had any problem with Middle-earth Enterprises over his decisions. If he says "No", then no it is.

Ho hum. Poor old Freca clearly has absolutely no chance (again...), so I've transferred my vote to an alternative to try and influence what the third choice for the month might be!

I changed my vote and place another one for Aragorn... I think this suggestion deserves to be winner this time... Although no one can ever predict the final outcome of a Fellowship poll, I think the Aragorn and sapling figure - a truly original suggestion that we haven't seen before so far as i can remember - will undoubtedly reach round two, and if it does I shall certainly vote for it (unless the Ragger also gets through....). All that really remains to be seen is which other two figures contest the final outcome.
