Great, we have enough ideas to move forward now and vote on them. The initial delay, in case you did not read my earlier post was that two ideas were so interconnected Chris would prefer to combine them into one pose, and I believe he had a fair point. Now I have received the approved list today of the seven ideas we can move ahead and start the poll. As usual the 1st round is a blind vote, which simply means you don't get to see the current status of the poll until after you submit your vote. This gives everyone a fair chance at gaining support. Your interactions are, as always, essential in getting more support for your favourite idea, even if you did not submit the idea personally. Post comments and discuss the ongoing poll, add supporting images or text to inspire others to vote your way. Every vote counts and even swaying one vote to your side can mean victory has been snatched away from defeat. Now this is only the first round, the final round will be on the 25th and it will have the top 2 or 3 entries that have gained the most support this round. That final round will then run until very early May (3rd).

The Destruction of Isengard – enraged Ent throwing a rock
Alllright, here's the change:
MERP creation *Badass* Empire of the Witch-king
The Angûlion Dúnadan Black Númenórean Mage/sorcerer Mouth of the Witch-king of Angmar
The Angûlion is the most powerful mortal in the service of the Necromancer. He gave his fealty to Sauron during the second age, at much the same time as his cousin Akhôrahil, who later became one of the Ring wraiths. The Angûlion is a sorcerer, utterly evil and completely loyal to Sauron and the Witch-king. His great power confers on him a high degree of immunity to the spell of dread which the Ulair (ring-wraiths) cast over mortal men, and his long association with them has artificially lengthened his life span. He has served Sauron in many capacities over the centuries. The Angûlion is a master of persuasion, an his silver tongue has won the dark Lord many friends and allies. At times, he works as Sauron’s assassin, using his magic to murder the Necromancer’s enemies. Capable of greater independent thought than eight of the Nazgûl, the Angûlion’s intelligence, experience, and deviousness have been the source of many evil plots on Sauron’s behalf. the Angûlion played a mayor role in the corruption and downfall of Rhudaur. Home: Carn Dûm He wears Black non-encumbering robes, a black breastplate with a glowing silver gem which amplify his voice and he wields a staff.

The Destruction of Isengard - ocr half burried under a rockfunny fitting suggestion But what's wrong with your half-orc on ladder? – he had quite a good popularity last month, hadn't he?

Nothing wrong with the half orc on ladder, but I got this picture of the orc when I read your suggestion of the ent throwing a rock. So I had to suggest it!

hsf62 - Nice one If the Ent makes it, all you need to get yours too is an old orc, a pincer (use arms and legs), a stone from your garden and some glue. Splatter a bit with the glue and paint it black. :-)

Last time when reading the 3th book again, a personality came by that has not been made by Mithril yet:
Gamling's grandson at Helm's Deep
I don't think his name is mentioned, but Gamling himself was in charge of the forces defending Helm's Dike, and his own grandson was one of the defenders. Gamling's words were: "Maybe we have a thousand fit to fight on foot, but most of them have seen too many winters, as I have, or too few, as my son's son here."
So it should be a young guy, maybe in a mailcoat a bit too long for him.

And, being who we are, we would never take the easy way. Never we would. Hommmmmm :-) Reminds me of a set sold for a sf-game, called "Meteroids". You got a couple of plastic stones for around 20 bucks...

Bombur in barrel floating in the river

Post by Axel on Apr 9, 2019 22:11:09 GMT
Wasn't the barrel closed until Bilbo opened it up later? I assume that would be the same as the Bilbo barrelrider mini, just without Bilbo. :-)
Of course Chris could make the barrel with a removable lid, showing Bombur within the barrel. That would be quite a mini...

Very good point indeed, Master Axel. The suggested figure shows just how much the movies have "polluted" our recollections of the books!

...it is the same as the Gandalf in Rodin thinker pose front of the gate of Moria.... where was written in the book that the Gandalf was sitting on rock or stump in front of the Moria...:-) or I'm wrong.... ...and Bilbo for sure did not open the barrel after he pull it out of the river, especially the Bombur's barrel with plump Bombur closed inside it. Maybe this barrle floating in the shallow on the waterfront of the river.... and Bombur try to get out from it in the shallow...
You need to think about marketing and selling mithril products.... not only about strictly written sentences...

Bodyguard of King Brand During the War of the Ring, the northern forces of Sauron, comprising mostly of Easterlings, attacked Dale and Erebor. In the ensuing battle King Brand and King Dain were killed. Their survivors fled to Erebor and were under siege for 3 days. Upon word of the defeat of Sauron the besieged host came forth and routed the Easterlings, forcing them to capitulate. I envision a soldier of Brand wielding a decorated shield, with his sword arm bandaged while in a combat pose. He should be wearing dwarven made armor befitting the King's bodyguard. Maybe an Easterling shield on the ground...

Nope. Nor does he sits so in the movie. I just think it is both fitting - the pose for Gandalf and Gandalf for Rodins pose :-) Brands bodyguard certainly would make a fine "last stand" incarnation. Nice one!

Ok, Chris has looked at the list and thinks that we need ONE more suggestion to make the cut. The issue is the first two ideas with the stone throwing theme should be together in a vignette as having them separate is a missed opportunity. So I will extend this thread another few days.

Half-Orc of Isengardclimbing a ladder, holding in his left hand his shield over his head for protection. He is wearing chain mail and a helmet. His sword is still in the sheath. There is single handed axe on a rope, hanging off his right wrist. (ok lets have this ....orc then!)

Warg Captain in the 'Wilds of Hollin'
A large wolf/Warg with head thrown back and howling just before launching itself upon the Fellowship, huddling under the shelter of the knot of old trees on the summit of the hill.
...At a gap in the circle a great dark wolf-shape could be seen halted, gazing at them. A shuddering howl broke from him, as if he were a captain summoning his pack to the assault..... The Fellowship of the Ring - A Journey in the Dark
The Warg would have both front legs on a boulder to give the impression of looking up the hill towards the Fellowship.

Hello everyone, first time poster here. I just want to continue Thingol's thread about the barrels. I believe a dwarf lowering himself into a barrel in the elf king's cellar would fit the criteria. Someday, I would also be excited to see a small vignette of Bilbo frantically sealing dwarves into barrels, but that would certainly be beyond the scope of this month's voting.

Hi Michael O'Brien,
I'm very happy for Master HalbaradII that both of his ideas made it into to 1st round! The thing is I can't see all the ideas mentioned put on the list for the first round! Why? I'm missing the "Warg Captain" the "The Three farthing stone of the Shire" and "Half-Orc of Isengard". What happened to them? Could I get a explanation please!
