Well, I see there are still a lot of members out there with larger wallets and more expansive (not to say expensive) imaginations than mine...
Personally, however, I continue to favour single figures over vignettes - not least because you can utilise single figures to create vignettes of your own. I therefore humbly suggest Eorl on Felarof at the Field of Celebrant - again - as my suggestion for the month.
It's getting harder and harder to resist the blandishments of the Bombur campaign, though...

Hi community,
here is another suggestion about helm´s deep: A vignette piece about this dangerous moment, when the uruks at the ramp would break the gate with ram and aragorn, eomer and some encouraged rohirrim break out form the small doorway beside and threw them down.
cheers

Here is a smaller vignette idea which would be more cost efficient. The scene where Pippin is stealing the Palantir from a sleeping Gandalf at the Rohan campsite. Pippin could be holding up the palantir while Gandalf is sleeping with the rock that Pippin exchanged it with. Merry could be sleeping in his sleeping bag in the background of the scene

I have in mind a vignette of a Lorien flet. On guard and ever watchful are Haldir and his brothers, Rumil & Orophin.

i would like to see a figure of the great werewolf of dol guldur caran carach [ red fang ] on all fours. he helped guard the fortress of dol guldur in the third age. being a descendant of the first age werewolf draugluin he would have to be of great size maybe 6 to 7 foot at the shoulder and 13 to 14 foot long with tail and have a thick ragged pelt bearing his great jaws at the sky. i think this would be a very imposing figure indeed. there is a description in i.c.e. creatures of middle earth.

Sorry to say, but I looked for this Caran Carach everywhere in the books but could not find any entry about it. I suppose it is another of ICE inventions which fits the world but was never written by Tolkien himself (such as the nazgul names?), I do not like the idea of figurines coming from "materials" inspired by Tolkien but not "original" ones...If you could tell me where u found this name in the books, I am interested. If it comes from ICE... well then I am not

Yes, well spotted Gildor. Caran Carach is an ICE invention (see their "Dol Guldur" book, p.64) - nothing to do with Tolkien at all. I have to admit I find it worrying that many people can no longer distinguish which creations are the Professor's and which aren't!

i am so sorry that the name caran carach disturbed you so much and i humbly apologise, forget the name then and vote for a nameless great werewolf of mirkwood instead, its still a good idea.

I've been disturbed for a long time, so nothing to worry about there! I agree that the idea of a monstrous werewolf on all fours (rather than the bipedal pose of M412 and M413, which are also fairly small in stature) would make a nice figure, with the fur on his back bristling and his fangs bared in a toothy snarl. Yes, I can certainly see that picking up a few votes. Good luck with it.

As a lot of the earlier figures appear to have been based on ICE modules (which I have never played, or whatever you do with ICE (other than in a cold drink) modules), and these are still some of the nicest figures designed, I don't think it is too bad a thing for ideas to be developed from other sources providing they had some association with Tolkien, i.e. I.C.E.
So don't be too hard on Narmacill - think of what you can use a 14' werewolf for; a diorama in the dungeon of Tol Sirion - later Tol-in-Gauroth ~ The Isle of Werewolves, carrying off the companions of Finrod Felagund etc.
All of the non 'pure' Tolkien figures I have are depicted or adapted as 'pure' Tolkien creations. After all we will run out of authentic names at some stage.
The license issue seems to have killed that dead anyway.
Have a Karma on me!

Hi, The only major Middle-Earth Creature not produced yet in a Boxed Set by Chris and Mithril is the Watcher at The Gate--the Kraken. Perhaps the final version of this MB# would be the creature itself. Or perhaps the monster could have the company of Frodo, Sam, and others. An ambitious setting would include multiple figures, as well as the Gates of Moria with flanking Holly Trees. In any case, the Watcher is a figure that has not yet been produced by Mithril, and would be a welcome addition in any manifestation.

I have nothing against Narmacil no problem at all but well... It seems that ICE does not own any licence anymore on tolkien stuff (and I don't know if it comes from the fact they took too much freedom in "rewriting" Tolkien, but it may...) By the time ICE & MERP was up and Mithril was producing figurines with names for the rpg games, the licences were not as strict as they seem to be now, I think... I would be very sad if the Tolkien Enterprise (or worse, the Tolkien Estate if they feel "insulted", and Chris Tolkien can be very touchy about it...) forbids mithril to produce figurines under the Tolkien licence anymore... So I think there should be great caution in not inventing names or characters that are not truly in the books... This is a freedom that cost a lot to ICE.... It would be wise to ask Michael about that, he surely knows more about it (licences, copyrights... what is feasable or not)
