"Sam had not gone far when he heard a suddenm clear horn-call go up ringing into the sky. Far over hill and field it echoed, and so compelling was that call that Sam himself almost turned and dashed back.
Awake! Awake! Fear, Fire, Foes! Awake! Fire, Foes! Awake"
I suggest Merry, blowing the horn of Rohan to rally the shire. Merry sits on his pony, in the center of Bywater. He wears his "travelling" clothes, mantle thrown back. Perhaps his pony, just like that of Sam, is rearing and neighing.
I hope that the pony does not exceed the "single mini" limit...

Well last month I was not the first to suggest it as I was in september, but I really think "Cirdan the Ship builder" would be a great single figurine. in a grey robe and staff with long beard.

I'll suggest a miniature I proposed months ago:
It was a young Thorin at Azanulbizar (or Nanduhirion) holding an axe in one hand and an oak branch in the other, winning his nickname: Oakshield
Since there will be two miniatures, I will suggest another one: A Sagath horseman, mounted and firing a composite bow from his horse.

by Sagath I suppose you mean Easterling? (once again I checked and discovered that Logath and Sagath may have been names of easterling clans created by ICE) I have nothing against it but could you correct me if I am wrong about the source? Last time I heard from Sagath in Mithril range, it was in M17 or M18 if I remember well... that's quite long ago

Hi I'm very glad to be the winner in october ;D. It was full of suspense but we have avoided a tie. Queen Beruthiel will be the second Queen of a Human Kingdom in the Mitrhil Release (only Arwen had been made!! ). I have no suggestion for november and december so I wish GOOD LUCK to the other fellowship's members. Bye Krosbone

Well, I have to count out the Gold-membership-releases I´ll order or won´t. It starts getting difficult because there are only two allowed to leave out every year . . .
I suggest, hmm, ohh, yes: Narvi! The dwarf who built the west-door of Moria. "Im Narvi hain echant : Celebrimbor o Eregion teithant i thiw hin." He is obviously mentioned in the Lord of the Rings though he was living several hundreds of years earlier, like that Beruthiel ... thing.
You could craft him while he´s carving rocks for the door. A craftsmen-mate looking over his shoulder . . . guess who. He will be my december- suggestion . . .

For a single figure, I suggest the twin brother of Elrohir : Elladan, in warrior gear (in the front of Black Gate) or in Orcs hunter of Imladris (or anyone other profile he puts on in LOTR).

I'm guessing that two months means we get to make two suggestions, but will we also get two votes? It seems logical to assume so, but perhaps Michael could clarify that for us.
My two suggestions? Well, one has to be poor old Eorl on Felarof again - he may never win, but he may stand a better chance this time round as a runner-up! For my second suggestion, I'd like to see an Elf standard-bearer: we have Dwarf, Orc and Man standard-bearers, but unless my memory is fading I don't think the Mithril range has ever included an elf with a flag.

;DWell I don't know if this suggestion bends the rules or is within the spirit of the rules, but if a figure/beast is integral to the base and not classed as 2 figures, I would like to suggest a single figure of Vorondil, hair and cloak billowing in the wind, holding aloft in triumphant pose the great horn of Gondor (later used by Boromir). In his other hand (at his side) would be a sword or axe, or whatever you use to cut the horns off the wild kine of Araw! IF the base can be included I would suggest the body of the kine minus one horn and Vorondil could have one foot resting on this beast's body. Out of interest the beast I have in mind would be based on an actual ox type animal called an Auroch - I have seen one of these things in a zoo, and they are HUGE with a capital H! As I am away on holiday this Sunday for a couple of weeks I don't have time to submit a sketch, but it is a thought; I'm also not sure if another member has already suggested this in the past, if so, credit where due. Failing that I also like the idea of an Elven standard bearer, personally I would like to see a lot of movement in the standard, cloak and hair, i.e. a strong wind blowing, but a fairly static pose. DD

I will allow 2 suggestions, but the only way to work 2 votes is to have 2 polls. Which is very messy as how do I accurately divide the suggestions up. The forum code does not allow a member to vote twice in one poll. I wanted one poll and we would make the 2 most popular suggestions. So fair enough, suggest 2 figures but you only get one vote. This will focus a better voting strategy as well. WE will be on holidays for the best part of 2 weeks over Christmas so we wanted to have the vote complete before we leave. That way Chris can be thinking about the figures over the holidays rather than rush them afterwards.

-Eomer at the Battle of Pellenor Fields on foot, setting the king's banner in the ground. "and fight there on foot till all fell, and do deeds of song on the fields of Pelenor, though no man should be left in the West to remember the last King of the Mark. So he rode to a green hillock and there sat his banner, and the White Horse ran rippling in the wing."
- An Ent in a fighting position, from their attack at Isenguard. Either holding a large stone, or ready to toss it onto an orc.

GO TO GALLERY PAGE: www.mithril.ie/Fellowship/gallery.html Hello Michael, well sun is shining again in Germany, maybe you have the rainy clouds now over Ireland? Well I will post my suggestion on the board: a Dunedain Ranger of the North on horseback, with a nice grey cloak and a sword, charging, like the mounted ones Chris did for the Rohirrim. And they are great. Visit our homepage: www.pedes-inflati.de and have a look into the "Galerie", where you can find painted Mithrils. I do not want to see to many "alteernatives" for the minis made from the Movies, but I would like to see all the things, that were never seen in the films or as minis and lots of them (Gondorian Provincial Soldiers as described in Tengwar are perfect!!) ESTEL May the Dunedain come back and heal the world...

My suggestion :
Legolas, but not armed with arrow and bow as we have seen him until now. I would like to see him in action pose armed with a dagger, or maybe two.

So many brilliant suggestions! I think I'll keep my powder dry this month, or I could very well suggest something and not vote for it! That Vorondil idea is brilliant, although it may be worth leaving and doing as a small vignette rather than compromising it as a single figure.

Ok! Two suggestions! As a compagnon for Narvi I would like to see Celebrimbor while he´s looking over Narvi´s shoulder. It must been a very strange and great friendship between these both superb craftsmen. A lot of their skills and magic must have been bent in that door they´ve built. And I guess they shared their techniques and tricks open minded like never before among elves and dwarfs (I know it must be written "dwarves" but I prefer Tolkien´s way).
I know that Celebrimbor was once released in the fellowship range (very impressing!), but I think they would make a nicer couple than Legolas and Gimli. And these both were built a lot more often.
Please, think about it. "Personalities" of the Third Age are running out now. There are only a few left to create the first time (like Sauron). Even those whose names were only mentioned once or twice are nowadays in one of the Mithril ranges (except most of the dwarfs from "The Hobbit" . . . ).

well, I see what you mean bombadil, but shouldn't we say that "personnalities from the LOTR main story" are running out? that leaves many personnalities mentionned in the story around the LOTR but still from the Third Age to be made.. personnalities as well as scenes. As for one I was thinking of the crowning of King Elessar by Gandalf, at the end of the LOTR, I intend to submit it in january as a vignette actually. It would really be a cool piece I think.

- I like barliman's idea of an elf standard-bearer, he should fit to the M398, M406 and M407.
- My suggestions is a half-orc archer like in tengwar 2.

Morning Dunedain! Earnur, the last figthing King of the Dunedain of Gondor! Maybe in a pose like Anarion or better on horse with a nice armour in a way like he confronts the witch king himself. Be proud of your Numenorean ancestors and stay truth! We are about to heal the world in peace.

Mithril once had an idea for a series of miniatures portraying various beasts of middle earth. I have always been very keen on the idea andI'd liek to promote on this board. There are several things that could be done: the Boar of Fernholt, a Mearas, the Kine of Araw, the black stag and white doe of Mirkwood etc. Personally I'd love to see the Crebain o isengard realized as miniatures. It could be done either with a flock pearching on the branches of a dead tree or, preferably and probably more difficult, as a flock in flight (I have seen it done with bats by other miniature brands).

I would like to renew my suggestion of an Dwarvish Crossbowman (IIRC, they are mentioned in ICE Moria, in LoR I couldn't find a quotation immediately) and additionally like to add an Halforc Pikeman used to defend attacking mounted Rohirrim - as shown in Tengwar #2. Yours, Stift (Alex)

Hi, Alex. I'm afraid that you won't find any quotations in Tolkien's writings on Middle-earth that mention crossbows, whether in the hands of Dwarves or of anyone else. Crossbows don't feature anywhere in the 'real' Middle-earth, even though they have been introduced into ICE's version.
The Half-orc pikeman is a good idea, and has been suggested on other occasions, but it would be better if one was released in the usual Mithril M (or perhaps LT?) series, so that it was (a) cheaper than it will be as a Fellowship figure, and (b) available to as many people - and in as great a quantity - as possible (I'm thinking of wargamers here!). There was one in the unreleased MW347 warband, of course, but we all know by now how much any of them might sell for if they should surface on eBay again...
