My first suggestion is Tinuviel the elf maiden from the song in a knife in the dark (fellowship of the ring). Song of Tinuviel
sung by Aragorn on Weathertop
and for my second suggestion I would like to submit again a ranger either mounted or on foot with a sword across their back. One hand on a dagger in their belt and the other hand holding a flaming torch held high as if they are alerted to some unseen danger. If the ranger is to be mounted then a bow and a quiver should be incorporated into figure. The rangers cloak should be decorated with symbols of gondor such as the white tree and stars. These should be subtle in their execution so it is not the most obvious feature as stark contrasts would ruin the stealth abilities of the rangers.

if my memory is correct, mithril was denied the right to make a beren or a luthien, is it still the case?

;)Thanks Axe99 for the Vorondil comment - I would also prefer to see it in its entirety rather than half of what it could be, which leads me onto a question regarding Gold fellowship suggestions. As this forum appears to be becoming a strong driving force in terms of inventive new ideas and possibilities, are any of the 'rejected' suggestions likely to be produced as mainstream releases? I certainly don't consider any of my suggestions 'copyrighted' to me, and only for the Fellowship. While the idea of voting for our favourites is all well and good as well as being good fun, I would be more than happy to see some of the great subjects put forward make it as general releases especially if it meant that the price was less because of the greater production numbers. Obviously Chris and the company have their own thoughts on what comes next, but it was just a thought. David

I'm with David re our suggestions hopefully not being considered 'exclusive' to the Gold membership, and I'll keep my fingers crossed that at least some of them may prove inspirational enough that Mithril will consider them viable for general release. There have been at least three or four I'd like to have voted for every month so far - including Bombur (d**n, but that campaign has got to me despite every effort to resist it...). Mind you, I guess this wish presupposes that Chris will ever have enough time to do more than he is already doing. Keeping up with our monthly demands and the new Armies of Gondor 'M' ranges is probably quite enough, on top of his other obligations.

Morning Dunedain! I have thought too long, but I think I now have my suggestions: Earnur, the last figthing King of the Dunedain of Gondor! Maybe in a pose like Anarion or better on horse with a nice armour in a way like he confronts the witch king himself. And as a single miniature ;D the doorway into Moria with the nice letters and the "riddle" on it, created by Narvi and Celebrimbor. Would be glad to see this dororway made, so I need not create it by myself- the fine letters would be a killing job! So let us see, what this morning brings!

Voivalvatti's suggestions:
- Forlong the Fat, Lord of Lossarnach, entering Minas Tirtih (with his thick-limbed horse). "...on the horse sat a man of wide shoulders and huge girth, but old and grey-bearded, yet mail-clad and black-helmed and bearing a long heavy spear" - Old Samvais Gamgi (as Mayor of Shire for the seventh time)

if my memory is correct, mithril was denied the right to make a beren or a luthien, is it still the case? We cannot do those figures. License restrictions apply. They are only referred to in the book, they played no actual part in the story. T.E. rules.

If tinuviel cannot be made then I would like to suggest bilbo riding/holding on to a barrel down the river as in the hobbit. The base could be textured to look like water and only half the barrel needs to be seen and then bilbo sculpted on top with his clothes hanging heavy on him due to being drenchd by the flowing water. This would not be classed as a vignette as bilbo is small and all of him would not have to be visible (just torso and arms).
This is to go with my other suggestion of the ranger with the flaming torch.

I continue to be confused about the Tolkien Enterprises licence issue. How come Beren and Tinuviel can't be made because 'They are only referred to in the book, they played no actual part in the story', when exactly the same could be said of Beruthiel and her cats, and yet a figure can be made of her? The actual story of Queen Beruthiel and her cats (so far as it goes) is given in 'Unfinished Tales', not LOTR – in which she is only fleetingly mentioned – and Christopher Tolkien/Tolkien Enterprises hold the copyright on 'Unfinished Tales'. So where's the logic? All very puzzling.

I suppose it comes from the fact Beren & Luthien are MAIN characters of OTHER writings than LOTR and Bilbo... if they were only reference characters in the Silm as well as in the LOTR, I suppose there would not be any problem, but that is not the case. On the other hand, Beruthiel is a side reference , both in LOTR and Silm (even if more detailed in silm)... I remember surfing on the Tolkien Entreprise once, and they were giving away the NAMES that could be used within the range of the licence, and the names that could not... the listing was huge... each entry (character, place, item etc...) was referenced as within or without licence range...
That's something quite amazing indeed...

Chris and Lars decide which figures they can safely make. I only report it. I leave the final decision to Chris when making the list every month.
