Again!
Narvi and Celebrimbor as craftsmen, working on the West-Gate! I Like the idea of a Noldo watching and admiring a dwarf´s artwork! Both of the people were very different but have a lot in common . . . Maybe good sometimes to recognize this when we communicate with others of our (man)kind . . .

I think Bilbo Barrel-rider is definitely worth another run, although it's not mine to suggest. How about it Dreadlord?

I had an idea last month of a vignette that could be quite impressive (not too big nor massive i think) The Crowning of King Elessar, by Gandalf the White in front of the throne of Gondor I have to check the book for details on who are the closest characters in attendance to put a third figure than Gandalf and Aragorn but only the two of them could be enough...
there are pictures of this moment made bu the Hildebrandt brothers, or well, you can get inspiration from the crowning of Napoleon I (this great painting where Napoleon makes Josephine his imperatrix) that would be Grand.

First off, thank you to everyone who voted for mounted Theodred. I will suggest him again in the coming months. I still believe that he deserves his very own mini. His fate, although briefly touched on in the books, plays such an integral part in the storyline of Theoden and Rohan. There seems to be an ever rising groundswell of support for a certain little Hobbit. I'd love to see Chris's interpretation of the scene. So c'mon Dreadlord, float (pun intended) the Bilbo Barrel Rider suggestion again this month.

After amassing no more than about four votes - cumulatively - during the last few months, I think I'll give poor old Eorl a rest for a while. Instead, I'd like to suggest an Ent trumpeting through his curled hands, as described in 'The Two Towers' and depicted in one of Ted Naismith's atmospheric paintings: 'Their limbs were long, and their hands had many fingers; their hair was stiff, and their beards grey-green as moss ... Suddenly they lifted their long hands to their mouths, and sent forth ringing calls, clear as notes of a horn, but more musical and various.' I don't anticipate this being a vignette, just a one-off.

due to popular demand I will suggest Bilbo escaping from the elven king on a barrel. As before the base should be textured like water, only half the barrel visible and bilbo clinging on for dear life. His clothes should be heavy around him. If the base was to be extended then extra barrels and maybe an impression of the river bank could be added, but even if the base is kept to normal size then it would still make a nice scene. Well hopefully it will finish first this time.

I would like to see a vignette of gandalf fighting the nazguls at weathertop, with a prone nazgul next to another one or two advancing. FOTR page 246, 247, 346.

Ooooh..., nice one Narmacil.
I do howere favor the idea of a miniature portraying Radagast or Saruman at Dol Guldur as theWhite Council flushes out the Necromancer from Dol Guldur
There is a good Galadriel already, and plenty of good Gandalf poses, but any of the above wizards in combat pose, warroir monk style, would be nice. They would go very well with the Dol Guldur release.

Yeeeeessssssssss !!! The white council is a good idea
Well ! Well ! Well !! A lot of choices... Difficult to determine the choosen one it will be!! The white council flushing out the Necromancer from Dol Guldur is a very good idea, but I would much like to watch a Mithril boxed and thus I will propose one more time : Grond with trolls, burden beast carrying It, and orcs.

I have a suggestion for a small vignette:
Theodred as the old, sick man on his throne, while Wormtongue is wispering in his ear. Later you could add a set of miniatures (Gandalf, Gimli and Legolas) as they stand before the king (unarmed, except for Gandalf's staff).
I think this would be a nice vignette to add to anyones collection.
Grond would probably be too expensive, I believe. However, There is a German manufactorer producing a "Grond", modeled after the movies. Costs around €280.00 ...
Anyway, Vote for Theodred and Wormtongue this month please!
Regards, Wim

Hi, Wim. Your suggested scene is already available as a Mithril vignette (MV361 'Stormcrow'), containing not only Theoden and Wormtongue but Gandalf too.

about the White Council I am not sure if Radagast was present. Saruman was and it was his last loyal and good act before he becomes distant and grows quite openly greedy and evil. as for the Necromancer that would make another discussion as it is Sauron once again and we don't have any idea on how to represent it, not even how the fight between the Necromancer and the White Council happened alas I looked for information on this topic when checking Sauron possible aspects for the MS435 vignette, but nothing is said except that Sauron fled to Mordor before he could be beaten and that the White Council was too late to stop his retreat. I know I have already posted one idea, but in answer to you proposition Hammershield, well, what would you think of a "Gandalf meets Radagast on the Greenway" ? This scene is the only described one involving Radagast meeting Gandalf on horses. Well I have already suggested the crowning, so this Idead would have to be for March I think (I suppose that february is for single minis)

I guess it was a bit late the night I made the suggestion. Truth is that I have this vignette. And then I mix up the names... Sorry.

I would like to suggest a vignette of a scene of the first book: The tree named in German "alter Weidenmann (Old Willow?)" who has caught Pippin and Merry (only his legs can be seen) and Frodo and Sam who are trying to rescue them with axe and fire - just the moment before Tom Bombadil arrives. The vignette could show only the bole of the willow (with Merry's legs) and Frodo and Sam trying to make fire at the tree. Yours, Alex

Our suggestion for next vignette: "Gollum's final dance at Mount Doom"
Gollum is cheering after getting the Ring back for himself. Dancing with joy on the edge of the Mount Doom. Holds the "precious" in his hand (still Frodo's finger attached to it). Gollum cheering: "My precious!" Frodo, on his knees, is watching (with his nine fingers...). Sam in background.

I suggest a vignette of Gandalf riding on Gwaihir's back, rescuing Frodo and Sam from Mount Doom. I always imagined Frodo and Sam trapped on a rock in the middle of a stream of lava, with Gwaihir swooping down to save them.

Hi! What you think about this idea? I suggest a vignette showing Bilbo in the last attempt to convince Thorin to enter in one barrel to escape from the Hall of the Elven King. Both must be talking face to face (maybe Bilbo placed over a little barrel) and pointing a opended barrel on the floor; Bilbo begging Thorin to enter and Thorin pointing his head like saying "Are you crazy". At the back maybe can be another barrel, showing the problems for Bombur to enter. I have make a simple draw, maybe it's more useful than words. I think it could be a funny piece, and you?

Mae Govannen, Hello Elves, Men and all free people, I think, that many collectors like the Elves and their style, created by Mithril. So do I and after I looked thousands of times through MITHRIL catalogues, I could not find three figures I like: Haldir and his brothers Rumil and Orophin. Although Haldir is now available as a miniature, after his appearance in the movie, his brothers are never made. So why not again Elves. They should be clad in Elven dress, with bows, quivers, some kind of sword and maybe a spear. I would like poses of a little arrogance but still friendly. A perfect supplement to the Lorien range. So please, let Rumil and Orophin be made by Chris' hands. Vote for Elves, or they will be left before we had enough miniatures of them.

My suggestion for this month : I would like to see
Aragorn standing ready to shoot with arrow and bow.
Aragorn certainly must have been a good bowshooter and he must have had enough opportunities to use his bow, but I don't think I ever saw an Aragorn figure in this pose, not by Mithril, nor by any other producer. So let's vote for it !

I will bring back my suggestion of an aged King Dain defending the body of King Brand in the War of the Ring. It would be a small two person vignette, Shagrat and Gorbag size (or possibly two separate figures). As I mentioned in MMP, I like to think that making a figure is like making a song in Middle Earth. That moment of courage is definitely worth a song.
Cheers!

Hi and a Happy New Year of miniature collecting and hunting to all my fellow mithril collectors!
Anyone outside ther living in Germany too? Lasst mal was von euch hören!!!
My suggestion is: How about Eowyn and Faramir together? At the moment when they met in the houses of healing. There are only two figures each of them, Eowyn in wargear mounted and on foot fighting the Lord of the Nazgul Faramir as soldier and ranger... What about the female side of the white Lady of Rohan? So this is my vision: Eoywn in long gown and the dark blue star embroidered mantle of Faramir's and Boromir's mother & Faramir in royal garment side by side, with their hair - golden and raven - tangled in the breeze...
Cheers to all, Harald from Germany
