'Every so often a suggestion is put forward that really fires the imagination. Such a suggestion appears in this month's batch in the form of Aragorn greeting Eomer in the midst of battle. A great idea, with a lot of dramatic potential and one that has never occurred to me before. The ghost rider would also be an interesting figure, and a somewhat challenging one, as I have never yet made a skeletal horse! Those I left out this month are the vignette of the Witch-king at the ford of Bruinen as it’s just too complex and too big. The expanse of water necessary would be very large to do the subject sufficient justice, and this would be too big for our vignette size. I am also reluctant to make Sauron again as I do not know in what form he would have appeared during the forging of the One Ring. I think it best to forgo his depiction entirely, as Tolkien did, and leave him to dwell only in the imagination. We cannot, as stated before, make Luthien, but a dancing yet un-named Elven princess, as Aelfwine suggests would be entirely acceptable.' by Chris Tubb
We have 12 options to choose from, and all are excellent so think carefully before adding your vote. The vote ends 16.00 p.m. GMT on Monday 25th of June. Then the 2nd round starts and will run until Monday the 2nd of July. Please remember you have one vote this round, and remember that the more elaborate the suggestion, the more expensive the final result will be. So include that into your decision process. Thanks to all members who have submitted these ideas, and we are sorry that there were a few ideas we could not include.

There are four suggestions I really like. Since the other 3 already have a vote I'll vote for Aragorn and Eomer meeting in the midst of battle.

I have to vote for my suggestion - Aragorn and Eomer, but there are as always, some great ideas and the battle will be hard fought I'm sure.

Voted for the Elf maiden I might end up making room for her in my Lady of the Mist diorama, if she wins. Well, I didn't really intend to suggest Luthien; I had another official suggestion in mind. It was just a throwaway remark. Alas, I procrastinated too long. And spent way too much time looking online for some fan art of the characters in question. To which I'd suggest: don't, just don't. If you know who I am talking about, take my advice. Don't go looking. If you don't, well, then, be pleased Still, Aragorn at Hollin, Aragorn and Eomer and the Rohir blowing his horn are all highly tempting! Gavin

Mae Govannen, almost all suggestions are great. I would like to see Gandalf meeting Bilbo as a birthday special as this would be a great figure (or boxed set with door and Bilbo sitting on a bench, some fence and flowers and so on ). As for the Rohirrim, I think it would be time for another M-series (Rohan II) as there are so few and the old ones are so hard to get. Maybe with Rohan women and children and Eowyn in her Royal gown and so on, just to complete the first and second Riders of rohan series. Namarie ESTEL

Hi fellows! Wow - 12 exciting suggestions for the 12th release of the second year! That's great and I think we can be anxious, which one will be the winner. It is really difficult this month, why can't we have them all? (just kidding...) Here's another peek of my imagination of the ghost riders, the challenge for Chris, who says he has never sculpted a skeletal horse. By the way in my mind the ghostly horses and warriors should not be just moving bones, but more haggard or gaunted bodies with ragged gear. ( Remember the poor dudes haven't had any food or drink for many years... cursed oathbreakers! ) So in case of being released, sculpting and finally casting should not be to difficult and afterwards better and more interesting to paint. Have a look, (Thanks, Michael - Webmaster! ) www.mithril.ie/Fellowship/gallery.htmlCheers and happy voting to all, fellows! Hwolf

Only for some optical support of "Aragorn fighting at Hollin" I would like you, fellows, to have an additional look at this again: www.tolkien.com.pl/kasiopea/ang/strony/Dances-with-Wolves.htmI`m not the one who is writing a lot (I am talking a lot more). But as we say over here: pictures are saying more than thousands of words!

. . . . and for calming down some european politician`s mood and minds I would like to mention that this great artist is from Poland! And I, from Germany, adore her! She´s very skilled and friendly in conversation as I personally experienced.
Maybe a sign of hope for us here in Europe, that our people are a lot more open-minded than their political leaders . . .

I think that if the Warrior of the Dead wasn't here I'd have voted for the Rohirrim again (he's going to have to be made at some point!), but I opted for the dead guy in the end. When did he stop being a vignette? - I thought the original suggestion was that he should be accompanied by a couple of foot warriors? Still, I'm sure he'll still be impressive even on his own.

Well spoken, bombadil1963,
I would prefer to see the Dead of Dunharrow come to us a a regular M- series rather than an expensive fellowship piece. If the dead rider is the starting point for some more undead guys with the gateway of Dunharrow and some other nice figures (especially mounted! Rangers of the North and so on) then let it be!

Wow, I love how that woman portrays the Edain - tall, lanky, hard edged, with with a little otherworldliness thrown in. Which is how I like to visualise them!
I could do without one of the Dead as a Fellowship release. But I suppose it won't be so bad, since I've got the bones (ha!) of an Aragorn meets the King of the Dead diorama started...

I also most liked the images that came to mind of the Mounted Ghost Warrior of Dunharrow, although there are several other worthy ideas here. I think that Mr. Tubb would take this to be an interesting challenge, and the piece would be a great complement to the King of the Dead (MS439).
For those who would like an M- series of the Dead from Dunharrow, there is already a start, with the Walking Dead (M167a & b) and Undead Warrior (M251). A Mounted Ghost Warrior of Dunharrow (with undead soldier or two, if possible/economical, as Barliman rightly noticed) would go very nicely with the King of the Dead and the others.
