Welcome to another exciting chance to add your ideas and dreams to Mithril's LOTR miniatures. Post your suggestions here. ONE per member. This is an single figure month, which means you can submit ideas for a single figure only, not mounted figures, multi-figure vignettes or one with furniture. The next 'open' month will be September. Please submit ideas in the following format ONLY: IDEA TITLE "this is why I think 'Idea Title' is a good idea for this month..." Make the title stand out (within reason) and separate from any supportive text by a paragragh. This will prevent Chris accidently overlooking it when he compiles the voting list later on. Otherwise it could be mistaken as a comment not a new suggestion. Please add some quotes about where it is mentioned or give descriptions to promote your suggestion. Even add a picture or submit it to me to add to the gallery page. If you drum up support NOW, the you have a much better chance when it is time to vote. Voting will begin on the 23rd of August (first round). We stop taking suggestions at 16.00 GMT on the 22nd. Second round voting will commence on the 28th. This will last until the 3rd of September. All votes will end at 16.00 GMT or BST (british standard time). You may add comments about other members suggestions as well. If you post any suggestions elsewhere it may not be seen or credited. Please post any suggestions in English. (That is all I can respond in, sorry). If you have any questions then post in the other thread provided for such questions. GO TO GALLERY PAGE: www.mithril.ie/Fellowship/gallery.html

[glow=blue,2,300]Angbor the fearless, Lord of Lamedon[/glow] (on foot)
Let's have a named figure be made this month. If your tired of me suggesting him, then voting for him will shut me up. ;D
"Only Angbor, Lord of Lamedon, had the heart to abide us (the King of the Dead and Grey Company)..." - ROTK
This dude was called [glow=red,2,300]fearless[/glow] by Aragorn himself.

ELFHELM
Coming up with a new idea to which no one else has already laid prior claim is getting steadily more difficult month by month, but I don't think anyone has yet suggested the Rohirrim marshal Elfhelm, one of the few LOTR characters that I sometimes think I'd like to have been - after all, he survived both battles of the Fords of Isen, the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, and the harrying of the army of Easterlings and Orcs in Anorien, seemingly without being so much as scratched! He even managed to avoid the bloodbath that was Helm's Deep...
I see him as mounted and blowing a horn as he leads the charge of the Rohirrim right flank across the Pelennor Fields.
It's always good to have more Rohirrim...

ANDURIL - FLAME OF THE WEST, REFORGED!My suggestion for this month is of an Elven Smith at Rivendell who has just reforged the shards of Narsil to make Anduril - Flame of the West, for Aragorn to wear. The smith is holding the almost finished sword to his eye looking down the length of the blade to ensure it is straight, as a slight variation his left hand could also be holding an oiled cloth to polish the blade (a separate sketch will hopefully be added soon) Although not a named charcter as such and more of a stand-alone piece I think that this moment plays a major part in the tale of the Return of the King as well as the book as a whole

[glow=red,2,300]Dol Amroth Man-at-Arms soldier on foot![/glow]
I suggest this because of the lack of Dol Amroth soldiers. This is what I will suggest instead of the knight on horseback.
It still would be nice to receive something to wet our appetites, don't you agree! ;D

well this is a single (not mounted) figurine month, so I don't think a Knight of Dol Amroth would be a valid idea...
I would like to suggest
KING EOMER OF ROHAN
Eomer on foot, in royal clothes, as the next king of the Mark after the War of the Ring. (besides that could make a young Rohirrim king/lord of times before, as opposed to Theoden which is an old king)

jd--perhaps you'd like to redefine your idea? I think it is a good suggestion, even if not mounted.

Michael - several of the comments above suggest that the definition of what constitutes a 'single figure' needs clarifying. Unless I'm mistaken, previous 'single figure' months have included mounted dudes, so I'm assuming this remains the case. Other members, however, appear to think otherwise. Can you confirm one way or the other? - if mounted figures are indeed excluded, then so are three of the suggestions made thus far, and we'll need to submit alternatives...

And JD, nudge, nudge, wink, wink - a mounted Dol Amroth charging Knight may already have been made! Perhaps we could 'rig' the GF votes to alternate between DA, Easterlings and Corsairs , make use of all that hard work that has been invested!!! Now did I say 'rig' the vote, tut, tut.

This month I was thinking Angbor on foot, as I don't think he was mounted during the Dead assault.

A mounted figure is not allowed this month. I have amended the original statement to clarify that point. A mount and a rider are two figures. I know previous months have been flexible and that will occur again but some months are just one person. This is to allow chris a chance to catch up on his work as well, a steady stream of mounted and vignetted suggestions will delay us beyond the current year.

ORC WITH TORCH
OK, I change my suggestion to a torch-bearing Orc
- either one of Saruman's at the Battle of Helm's Deep:
"The hosts of Isengard were advancing in silence now. Their torches could be seen winding up the coomb in many places. Suddenly from the Dike yells and screams, and the fierce battle-cries of men broke out. Flaming brands appeared over the brink and clustered thickly at the breach. Then they scattered and vanished ... 'We loosed every arrow that we had, and filled the Dike with Orcs ... We have taught them not to carry torches.' "
- or one of the Witch-king's at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields:
"Then from many points little rivers of red flame came hurrying on, winding through the gloom, converging towards the line of the road that led from the City-gate to Osgiliath. 'The enemy,' men murmured. 'The dike is down. Here they come pouring through the breaches! And they carry torches, it seems.' "

Hi fellowship members!
LADY CELEBRIAN, wife of Elrond the loremaster
I put in a suggestion I had already some time ago and that was liked much: A character, that wasn't released so far: We have miniatures of Elrond, Elrohir & Elladan and Arwen already, but there is one missing to complete the family:
Lady Celebrian! daughter of Galadriel & Celeborn, wife of Elrond and mother of the twin brothers and Lady Arwen
There is the story, that she travelled once from Rivendell to Lorien and she and her party was attacked and captured by cruel orcs. Celebrian was rescued quickly by her brave sons, healed from a serious wound by Elrond. But she got sad of middle-earth, so she went over the sea to the undying lands and left middle-earth some time ago.
So how about a nice single female elven figure of Celebrian, either in Lorien or in Rivendell. Perhaps taking a walk in the gardens with some flowers in her hands...
Go on suggesting!

My idea for this month is: An Elf Bard of Rivendell Somewhat inspired by this image: The Elf bard is a wanderer, and travelwise. It is a companion figure to M448. He wears a long Elvish cloak, hooded, though the hood is back from his face. He holds his harp in his left hand, leaving his right hand free. He is young and fair and has seen much. He carries a sword at his belt, and a knife somewhere. Much of his garb is practical, but he wears a ring on his finger and an ornate necklace. Perhaps he is a member of one of the Wandering Companies. Perhaps he sails with the Elves of the Havens. Or maybe he is an adventurer from Mirkwood. Gavin

Arathorn - Hunting Trolls
Arathorn is one of the most unknown VIPs of Middle Earth! That seems strange to me. Ok. We can have a discussion about the role of fate in Tolkien´s philosophy and world. But should the father of the Returning King have been a nobody and fall in forgetting?
There are a lot of interesting suggestions this month (they are nor inspired by summer-weather, I guess . . .). So, if Arathorn is not Your first choice, I will not be disappointed. But I will keep the idea alive in the next months.
I`ll go to Italy tomorrow and will enjoy the sun, the landscape, the food and - not at least - the very good wine! It´s just a week. I hope it´s enough time to get body and soul recreated for a while . . . Aah! Italy! Good Old Europe at it´s best! Ok! Beneath Espagna, Hellas, La France, Great Britain, Deutschland, Nederland, Danmark, Norge, Eire . . .

Mae govannen, as the evil side is growing , I try to suggest something new: What about the small kind of Orc, Sam and Frodo saw when travelling down the mountains into Mordor ;D? It was a smaller kind of Orc, sniffing with his nose (was he called SNAGA??). It exists some figure of this kind of Orc, but I would suggest: Orcish trackera real orc character, with a bow, quiver, dagger (as small acessoires in the style of the older figures or the MX figures) and much more ragged than the larger brethren, with less armour, a small helm hanging at his side. I would suggest him standing there just some seconds before his bowshot at his larger Orc companion, still quarreling with him (it would be cool to have sometimes a great fighting Orc with an arrow in his eye, falling down). Something like this (but looking like Chris'/Mithril design ): img-fan.theonering.net/middleearthtours/images/orcs_als.jpgNAMARIE Estel

The Mouth of Sauron is still available in the classics range Khador - I have in the past suggested one of his escort holding up the Mithril coat at the parley with Gandalf, Aragorn etc.

My vision is those of a figure on foot, in fully armor with cape, watching by a high window of the Tower or waiting for order from his Master (one knee on ground)
