Welcome to another exciting chance to add your ideas and dreams to Mithril's LOTR miniatures. Post your suggestions here. TWO per member (one BAD guy and one GOOD guy). We will consider Good guys suggestion for December and Bad guys suggestions for January. As we are on holiday during this month we combine the suggestions. There will be 2 voting polls started in January to deal with the suggestions. VERY IMPORTANT: You MUST state at the start of your suggestion which catagory your idea falls into. Simply state: GOOD GUY (or BAD GUY): then add your TITLE and then your suggestion. These are single or mounted figure months only. So NO vignettes or multi figure suggestions. If you are in doubt then leave it out. The only other restriction is that the figures MUST conform to our license, so NO Silmarillion based characters are allowed. They have to be in the Hobbit or LOTR books. The final say is ours and no arguement will be allowed. Ask if you are worried about its eligiability. Please submit ideas in the following format ONLY: IDEA TITLE "this is why I think 'Idea Title' is a good idea for this month..." Make the title stand out (within reason) and separate from any supportive text by a paragragh. This will prevent Chris accidently overlooking it when he compiles the voting list later on. Otherwise it could be mistaken as a comment not a new suggestion. Please add some quotes about where it is mentioned or give descriptions to promote your suggestion. Even add a picture or submit it to me to add to the gallery page. If you drum up support NOW, the you have a much better chance when it is time to vote. Voting will begin on the 8th of January (first round). We stop taking suggestions at 16.00 GMT on January 14th. Second round voting will commence on January 21st. This will last until the 30th of January. All votes will end at 16.00 GMT or BST (british standard time). You may add comments about other members suggestions as well. If you post any suggestions elsewhere it may not be seen or credited. Please post any suggestions in English. (That is all I can respond in, sorry). If you have any questions then post in the other thread provided for such questions. GO TO GALLERY PAGE: www.mithril.ie/Fellowship/gallery.html

GOOD GUY
Gil-Galad with Aiglos
I would like a simple Iconic pose, mounted, with Aiglos held erect. Not an action pose, merely "the calm before the storm". I believe this should fall within the license as described below:
`I was the herald of Gil-galad and marched with his host. I was at the Battle of Dagorlad before the Black Gate of Mordor, where we had the mastery: for the Spear of Gil-galad and the Sword of Elendil, Aiglos and Narsil, none could withstand. I beheld the last combat on the slopes of Orodruin, where Gil-galad died, and Elendil fell, and Narsil broke beneath him; but Sauron himself was overthrown, and Isildur cut the Ring from his hand with the hilt-shard of his father's sword, and took it for his own.'

MAE GOVANNEN MELLON, I like the vision of Chris concerning the Arnor-Angmar conflict and I am very fascinated by that story, so I would suggest the following: GOOD GUY:MOUNTED ARNORIAN KNIGHT/KNIGHT OF ARNOR either a knight of Rhudaur or a Cardolanian Cavalryman, armoured like it is described in the one and only beloved Mithril-Catalogue Handbook No.1 . I have no idea if this guy should have a lance or just a sword or a mace/axe as a primary weapon. He needs a shield I think (maybe with the option to create either a Cardolan or a Rhudaur knight). BAD GUY: HILLMAN KING/LORD one of those evil men, who took over and ruled Rhudaur and made war against Arthedain. I have no idea, how this guy should look like, but not like a Dunlending, more savage and dirty is a must. Reasons for that figures: Never ever was released a knight of Rhudaur or any other Dunedain of that place and never ever did I see a Hillman made by Chris T. Just two cultures Chris could invent the look now NAMARIE estel

Note to Alatar - the EXACT figure you suggest is already available from Mithril as M269, and at a lower price than a Fellowship version would cost! See their 'rare stock' listing. I don't imagine they have many left, so I'd suggest you buy one now. It's a superb figure, and paints up beautifully.
In the meantime, I'm still thinking about what figures to suggest this time round (I need more brain cells): I'll be back...

Good Guy
A Ranger of the North defending.
A Ranger of the North, grim-faced, young and weather beaten, his grey cloak in the wind, his elenriss badge shining, wielding a sword two handed.
He wears a mail shirt, heavy winter boots, and a linen tunic under the mail. (Elements of MS 464, MS 423 and MS 437, perhaps)
He's tall and slender and handsome, but determined.
He's defending himself from....
Bad Guy
A Warg Chieftain
A huge, wild beast, every inch the trapped Maia spirit, its huge jaws open and ready to snap, his eyes burning with a fell intelligence.
He's big. It's like he encapsulates the essence of the wolf, while being so much more.
His body is coiled, ready to strike. I imagine he's standing on a rocky outcrop, so he's going to leap down on the Ranger.

I am not really original (I know) because I suggested the same things last year, but I think it would be cool to have such Figurines for completing the scene of the Prancing Pony . GOOD GUY I start by the good one who could be just one rich, numb and joyful customers of the inn, I see him as a rich established citizen of Bree (or somewhere else citizen), over 50 year old with a comfortable and opulent stomach (gastronome type)- He is standing next to a pillar of the inn. …(Please don’t get me wrong, I am not suggesting there that the fact of being rich and opulent represents some kind of goodness, it’s just an image of an Epicurean type guy that I am trying to describe with that guy) He has a pleasant; round, honest and smiling face; he could be smoking pipe or drinking and he is just watching the other folks around him, and seems amused by something among the other folks of the Inn (perhaps by Frodo singing…?). He could be dressed with and richly ornamented coat, with a rich jewel around his neck. He would have a luxuriant belt with an opulent bag full of coins attached on it—(I already anticipate my bad guy character there) BAD GUY My suggestion for the bad guy is more complex because it could at be first, complementary to my suggestion for the good guy and consequently forming a mini scene, but also, he could be used as a human spy of Sauron among the folks of the Inn. He could first be used as a thief trying to steal the opulent bag full of coins of my good guy (see my good guy suggestion). Just passing discreetly behind the good guy (see my good guy suggestion again) and trying (or at least seems doing the action) to steal tactfully the bag with a great and almost invisible dexterity. In second suggestion, it could be used as a spy passing discreetly behind any of the folks of the Inn or anything else to get a closer look or hearing to what it got pay for—spying. In both cases I see him as a furtive thin, tall and dark silhouette giving a bit the impression of a discreet shadow; he could be dressed with a hood on his head and cape. ------------------------- Note: My suggestions are perhaps a bit hazardous for most of the expectation there I know, but why not having these two additional and purely anonym personages to fit in the Prancing Pony scenery. In my sense and although already rich of different personages, this scenery of the Prancing Pony has always been a successful attraction for the Mithril collectors and some others too. This scenery has always been in the anticipation of every body to see additional personages or extras in order to complete some dioramas inspired by the original series released some years ago. So, why not taking advantage of the opportunity there and add two more personages for the Prancing Pony, which can be used in some other locations as well?
One personage will be good or at least representing no danger and the other one will be bad and both could be used as double employment personages, either for representing a mini scene for Prancing Pony for example, or and also, both could be used as single and independent personages as well.

Bad Guy
Angmar Orc Captain mounted on a warg. The warg is standing still very alert while the captain observes his command. I was inspired by Gilgaladtolkien's October suggestion.

GOOD GUY [glow=teal,2,300]Angbor the fearless, mounted[/glow]From ROTK, The Last Debate:
And there men of Lamedon contested the fords with fell folk of Umbar and Harad who had sailed up the river. But defenders and foes alike gave up the battle and fled when we came, crying out that the King of the Dead was upon them. Only Angbor, Lord of Lamedon, had the heart to abide us; and Aragorn bade him gather his folk and come behind, if they dared, when the Grey Host had passed.
'That night we rested while others laboured. For there were many captives set free, and many slaves released who had been folk of Gondor taken in raids; and soon also there was a great gathering of men out of Lebinnin and the Ethir, and Angbor of Lamedon came up with all the horsemen that he could muster.'
Four thousands I sent marching from Pelargir through Lossarnach two days ago; and Angbor the fearless rides before them. There you go. A chance to vote for Angbor mounted. The pose and stuff would pretty much be up to Chris. I have an idea for a baddie, but I have to ruminate about it a bit more.

[glow=red,2,300][shadow=red,left,300]BLACK SERPENT - WHITE FURY [/size][/shadow][/glow][/size][/color][/color][/center][/b] The Battle of the Pelennor Fields. GOOD GUY:Theoden mounted with sword in hand about to strike a foe-man (see bad-guy), horse galloping and cloak flying in the wind. BAD GUY: Mounted Southron (Haradrim) Standard Bearer displaying the Black Serpent upon field of red. ".....Right through the press drove Theoden Thengel's son, and his spear was shivered as he threw down their chieftan. Out swept his sword, and he spurred to the standard and hewed staff and bearer; and the Black Serpent foundered......" The poses are merely a guide and the options could include the standard bearer and his horse already down with the Standard partly draped over them (cheaper?) - the bad guy could even be the Harad Chieftan shouting aloud to his calvary.

Good guy (better Good lass :
Lady Celebrian, wife of Elrond the loremaster The fair golden haired daughter of Galadriel & Celeborn, wife of Elrond and mother of the twin brothers and Lady Arwen She is still missing in the Mithril ranges. I leave it to Chris to decide: Either she can be mounted on a beautiful elven palfrey on the jouney to Lorien (Palfreys were a noble breed of horses with a very comfortable kind of walking in the middle ages, to comfort the ladies on their jouneys and so also fitting for noble LotR elven ladies...) The neck of the horse is bowed like a swan neck and two legs are of ground each step.) So there whould be a mouted elven lady without armour in our collections... Or she can be a regular single miniature in beautiful and graceful elven garments, maybe taking a walk in Rivendells gardens or sitting in a high chair in the Halls of Fire in Elronds house, listening to the Harps... There is the story, that Celebrian travelled once from Rivendell to Lorien and was attacked and captured by cruel orcs. She was rescued by her brave sons immediately and healed by Elrond from a arrow wound, but she got sad of middle-earth, so she went over the sea to the undying lands and left middle-earth some time ago. She is described as tall, very beautiful and fair haired, and she loved peace, children and all beautiful things and had a loathing for cruel things and warfare.Cheers and happy Christmast to all fellows, Hwolf

Bad guy:
Dead Rider of Dunharrow/DwimorbergI trow in previous suggestions of mine again: the ghostrider holding spear and a ragged banner, to go together with the already released special "King of the Dead" I think a undead horse should be more skin and bones than a alive mithril horse, but not only a skeletton. The undead human ghost warrior is emaciated also. I don't think he should have great cloaks, to point out the King. The ghostly riders are missing in the mithril range so far, the existing undead are from Dunfearen (Dunland) and the dead marshes... ...Legolas turning to speak to Gimli looked back and the Dwarf saw before his eyes the glitter in the Elf's bright eyes. Behind them rode Elladan, last of the company, but not last of those that took the downward road. 'The Dead are following,' said Legolas. 'I see shapes of Men and of horses, and pale banners like shreds of cloud, and spears like winterthickets on a misty night. The Dead are following.' 'Yes, the Dead ride behind. they have been summoned, ' said Elladan...
Thus spoke Malbeth the Seer...: "Over the land there lies a long shadow, westward reaching wings of darkness. The tower trembles; to the tombs of kings for the hour is come for the oathbreakers: at the Stone of Erech they shall stand again and hear there a horn in the hills ringing. Whose shall the horn be? Who shall call them? from the grey twilight, the forgotten people? The heir of him to whom the oath they swore. From the north shall he come, need shall drive him: he shall pass the Door to the paths of the Dead.

I will come back to two old suggestions, one of mine for the good boy and one that haunted the fellowship for the back guy.
For now I will only post a short summary and probably come back to give a better motivation later:
Good Guy
Merry blowing the Horn of Rohan
Merry, clad in Rohan gear and mounted on his pony, is blowing the horn of Rohan to rally the Shire. This leads me to my
Bad Guy
Sharkey
Saruman in his last incarnation, as he haunts the Shire out of pure spite and shrewdly commands the respect of his men - the last "army" of Saruman. I imagine him standing, probably during his last debate with Frodo or giving orders to some underling.
While also being a good suggestion for a Duorama together with Grima we can always decide to vote him in at any later time. Sharkey is one of the last major incarnations of a character in the book proper that needs still to be made.

GOOD GUY: THEODRED, SON OF THEODEN, PRINCE OF ROHAN
Theodred is a major character named in the LOTR who has yet to be sculpted by Chris in the M series. He could be attired in traditional Rohir war-gear, with a sword and shield and on horse.
BAD GUY: UGLUK: LEADER OF THE ORCS OF THE WHITE HAND
The biggest, baddest Half-Orc, conscript to Saruman, he is the leader of all of Saruman's army forces.

I don't have special idea for bad guy but I really like the "Sharkey" Idea and may vote for it,
as for the GOOD GUY : "Thorin Oakenshield in wrath" : this title would only mean that he has Orcrist in his hand charging in battle (five armies or great goblin caves), there is actually no figurine, if my memory does no fail me, of Thorin using Orcrist in battle... and thus no figurine at all focusing on Orcrist.

Then it would only be eligible from the fight in Goblin-gate, since the Elven-king took the sword from Thorin and it was only returned after he had been slain in the Battle of Five Armies. For the mini this would be no difference beside the fact that then Thorin could have no armor, as the dwarves had no war-gear with them on their quest. They acquired it only after equipping themselves from Erebor's armory treasures. Cheers Thomas

mea culpa tolwen I had overlooked this little detail. Anyway, Thorin using Orcrist in battle could indeed be at goblin-gate... A pity such a good weapon was never used much in battle (at least in the 3rd Age) Only used once in the Hobbit So it would be a "Thorin at Goblin Gate" as a title, why not?

Good Guy: Hama, Theoden's Captain of the Guard, on horseback. I would like his head to look like the one from the Horselords series. He can have a long spear or his sword out. Bad Guy: Grishnak, Orc of Mordor. Maybe looking down on Merry and Pippin with his sword pointing at them.
