It was a 3 way tie for the first round as the votes were very spead across all the ideas presented.
As there were no clear 4th place, I left it as the top 3 for the final vote.
This vote ends on the 30th of August.
Remember to add your comments on why you are choosing to vote for something, it may convince others to support you. There are plenty of votes to presuade.

placing my vote, Variag foot archer is the best option, IMHO. There is only other Variag in all Mithril range.
By the way, this is my first poll vote, I'm newbie in this forum. Hello to everybody, this is a great fan community. I except to contribute a few! I'm a long - time collector from Spain that have come back to Mithril collection after some time out of it. It's great to be back

Welcome Imisel! Great to have you aboard. I voted for the Elf - I sort of kept an older promise and only voted for a named figure in the first round, but this time I shall vote with my conscience Gavin

I see the Variag mini as a relaxed warrior, slowly marching in the greath plain of Khand with the short bow and the caracteristic squared shield firmly tied on his back and the sword drawn in his right hand, ready to repel the attack of any large and ferocious animal of the steppe.
A subject interesting not only for a "static" collector, making excellent piece for a diorama, but also usefull for a more "dinamic" use as an oriental PC or NPC caracter in RPG game.

Well, no beef-steak on the menu this time , so my vote goes for the elf, who if he wins and looks half as good as the Silvan bard will make nice additions to a future project.

Already having lots of Elves and Orks, I decided to go for the Variag (well, reading fulvios posting helped).

Welcome imisel. Unfortunately Hirgon didn't get the to second round vote. I will like any of these figures. But I have to support Mauhur, I think I even suggested him many months (years?) ago

My dear, dear Mauhur, it seems that Ugluk and his band have run into some rather inhospitable Rohirrim. Take a detachment of your best fighters, go to Fangorn Forest, sort through the confusion, and bring back the haflings...alive. Tell them that bed and breakfast will be served in Isengard! AROOOOOO!!! What are you waiting for! GO NOW! I wish you luck Mauhur! Hey Tom, if you're reading this, the wooden paddle was for stirring the lye soap to keep the chains clean! What were you thinking? LOL.

Well, I have suggested two times that Easterling mounted archer to be instructed that a range of Easterlings already do exist! ( The question is: where? ) So anyway, let´s call him: Variag. And because it is no mounted month, let´s give that foot-archer a chance. Seems, that Fulvio shares my passion about "Easterlings" . . . and yes: Variags are Easterlings, too . . .

The description of the Variag is excellent. I even like the name "VARIAG". Very strong. I would gladly support him, if not for Mauhur.
Mauhur has been suggested several times in the past and is one of the few orcs mentioned in some detail who actually had a significant purpose. As Ugluk and Grishnakh already exist, it's time the name Mauhur is added to the short list of notorious orcs by Mithril.

What a close race! Mauhur by one . . . . Maybe we'll get over 40 votes this time. I will like any of these three.
Grond, stirring the lye soap with a paddle to keep the chains clean??? Real Orcs like dirty chains! ;-)

Saruman just soiled his bathrobe! Wake up! If Mauhur could see what was happening here, he might this: Yup hoog pink puss! Gittaflog uttagear! Translation: Excuse me handsome Variag, but the end of the line is back there... with the elf!

Is it possible to have 2 winners this month !?!?!? ... and we could make one short break in voting for next round !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post by Michael O'Brien on Aug 27, 2010 15:37:07 GMT
As we only have two rounds a month I am not sure what a break in voting would accomplish. We have a combined month at christmas as I am not around to start the voting during the holiday period.
Every idea is a winner, its only a matter of time before many get made, even if they do not immediately win the first time they are submitted.

MAUHUR quote: Yup hoog pink puss! Gittaflog uttagear! (Translation: Excuse me handsome Variag, but the end of the line is back there...)
... Last words in the mouth of the orc commander before being mortally wounded in the middle of battle by friendly fire: a rambling Variag arrow stuck in his back...

Last words in the mouth of the orc commander before being mortally wounded in the middle of battle by friendly fire: a rambling Variag arrow stuck in his back... LOL! Good one! It's about time you spoke up. So Variags shoot their allies in the back eh? That would explain their defeat! Perhaps I should promote the back-shooting man-creature and give high praise to that zigzagging elf. Then Mauhur would surely pull ahead!

GROND QUOTE: "...So Variags shoot their allies in the back eh?"
...Officially an incident. Variags are notoriously unscrupolous and they hate orcs: orcs love to eat the beautifull black horses of Kand leaving Variag archers just... on foot.

variag idea is great, but i'd prefer to see a whole bunch of variag as an m-series and there is a chance to get an orc fitting with the grishnach miniature.........and it is a named character!
