VOTING CANCELLED DUE TO ERROR IN LIST.
I have made a new list, verified by Chris himself. Sorry about that.

Well, this vote was harder than the first ...too many excellent choices! Michael, I think the recommendation to space out vignettes vs. single figures is just fine. Although I'm sure some people may argue that the membership list should bear whatever comes out from the votes, it couldn't hurt. In effect, it provides a control to cost structure, especially given the fact that its mandatory for members to purchase a certain number of figures per year. We shouldn't be THAT exclusive, driving away members (and potential members) because of cost. It's not an overly burdensome request IMO. I can certainly appreciate the savings. In regards to the vote, I finally voted for Bilbo and all the Dwarves. We have a boxed set for the Fellowship...it's a natural progression to see a set for the Hobbit. Kudos to all the great suggestions my fellow members have made. I look forward to seeing relistings so I can vote for them in the future.

I voted for all the dwarves because it is a box (or vignette) that I like to see since time ago.
But I have a question: I proposed a Shadowfax figure in the spanish gold board, but it is not in the august list. Is it a ruled out figure or I must put my proposals in the general board?
Thanks.

Well, I have not voted yet and will wait a few more days for the vote. There are many excellent choices and I don't know what to choose yet. I was surprised to see neither sauron in armour or sauron as anatar (which is not in armour) . These choices were available in July vote and had gained 6 votes , thus were quite well placed... I know Chris reluctance to make Sauron as he has often mentionned it in Tengwar or in interviews but this precise case of Sauron is quite well described in Tolkien books compared to other occasions where Sauron is only vaguely described, or corpseless. Maybe he'll change his mind one day I am sure many fans would be very interested in such a figurine

"Merry raising the shire" also did not made the list. Well, there are plenty of month` to come.
I would have preferred a single Bombur-mini instead of a full set - unless of course you make the whole set in one go :-)

It's another brilliant list of suggestions - while I've voted for the one I suggested (and also to throw some support behind a single-figure option), I'm a guaranteed happy camper as long as any of the choices listed above gets up (which I'm guessing is pretty likely!) . Hang in there with Merry, Axel. I reckon it's a great suggestion and I'm sure will get a run in the future. If only Tolkien hadn't written such excellent books... No, I don't mean that !

I voted for the Beren Luthien defeated Sauron and Huan vignette. Ive been waiting for a Beren and Lutien set forever!!! and Huan is an awesome character, so I think this vignette is a great choice, and will look excellent when made.

Er, I'm puzzled - the Beren and Luthien incident is from the Silmarillion if it includes Huan. He isn't referred to in LOTR at all. Surely this vignette would therefore present Mithril with the usual Christopher Tolkien copyright problems?

Er, I'm puzzled - the Beren and Luthien incident is from the Silmarillion if it includes Huan. He isn't referred to in LOTR at all. Surely this vignette would therefore present Mithril with the usual Christopher Tolkien copyright problems? HI The story of Beren and Luthien is told by Aragorn in the LOTR. Thijl Strider sighed and paused before he spoke again. 'That is a song,' he said, 'in the mode that is called ann-thennath among the Elves, but is hard to render in our Common Speech, and this is but a rough echo of it. It tells of the meeting of Beren son of Barahir and Luthien Tinuviel. Beren was a mortal man, but Luthien was the daughter of Thingol, a King of Elves upon Middle-earth when the world was young; and she was the fairest maiden that has ever been among all the children of this world. As the stars above the mists of the Northern lands was her loveliness, and in her face was a shining light. In those days the Great Enemy, of whom Sauron of Mordor was but a servant, dwelt in Angband in the North, and the Elves of the West coming back to Middle-earth made war upon him to regain the Silmarils which he had stolen; and the fathers of Men aided the Elves. But the Enemy was victorious and Barahir was slain, and Beren escaping through great peril came over the Mountains of Terror into the hidden Kingdom of Thingol in the forest of Neldoreth. There he beheld Luthien singing and dancing in a glade beside the enchanted river Esgalduin; and he named her Tinuviel, that is Nightingale in the language of old. Many sorrows befell them afterwards, and they were parted long. Tinuviel rescued Beren from the dungeons of Sauron, and together they passed through great dangers, and cast down even the Great Enemy from his throne, and took from his iron crown one of the three Silmarils, brightest of all jewels, to be the bride-price of Luthien to Thingol her father.

Hi, Thiji. Yes, I know the story of Luthien and Beren is in LOTR, but you've missed my point: read the passage you've just quoted again and you'll see that there's no mention of Huan...
Actually, the more I think about this Huan/Silmarillion point the more concerned I become. Is it going to render this month's entire vote invalid? After all, at the moment this vignette is the clear leader, but what'll happen if it actually does win and then the copyright issue prevents it from being produced? The words 'void', 'null', and 'whoops' spring uncomfortably to mind. Can Michael clarify things for us?

HI If Huan is to pose copyright issue by the end of the day , a vignette with Beren injured and Luthien will be also great . Thijl

Well, I've voted for Wendy's Halbarad as I said I would, since my own suggestions (from this month and last month) clearly don't appeal to anyone else at the moment, and there's no point in wasting a vote on them (alas...). Since there remains a chance that the Luthien/Beren/Huan set may not prove possible at the end of the day, the position of runner-up may become important!
And as regards Michael's suggestion about alternating vignettes and standalone figures: yes, d**n fine idea. I should think Chris would be grateful for this as well, since I suspect that keeping up with producing a vignette every month will prove difficult.
