In order to know a bit more about what you do or what you like with Mithril, some of us thought it could be cool to have an idea about what you are mainly looking for with the figurines.
Please feel free too answer this poll, you can select many choices and you can change your selection if you want.

As for the choices: I rather see myself as a collector of Mithril miniatures, not only as a collector of rarities.

I've also included 'Other' as I also like to produce small vignettes (two-three figures plus a bit of scenery) which I personally do not class as a diorama (multuple figures - above 2-3 ;D)

Collector ( not only rarity collector ) and painter of course and one day I will make small vignettes and small dioramas like David and Turambar..... but not jet... once when Chris stop producing new miniatures... in his old age... than I will use my free time to made new projects with old figures....

well I used the word "rarity" to mean "precious", for me all mithrils are "a rare treasure"... not necessarily the M16 or the Christmas 1988 just call it , "collector of precious little things".. as for diorama vs battlescenes, I did not want to make too many choices, but a little "vignette" tends more on the diorama.... compared to battlescenes which involves dozens and dozens of figurines, meant for battle not necessarily to play... it can be a static battle scene, like the one you did for the battle of the Last Alliance David... this is more a battlescene, not a diorama so far, nobody voted for battlescenes builder/gamer... Does that mean that there is very few "wargamers" around? such information is quite important I think

Rarity? Well, sometimes, but thats not what draws me to Mithrils. I have collected them since 88, and think they catch the spirit of Tolkiens world as good as a set of miniatures can. Thus I voted "other", since none of the other options really fits - despite all of them being true to some degree.

definitly putting the word "rarity" with collector was a mistake from me, this was not meant for the rarities but rather for the idea that you are trying to get all the existing references (no matter the time it takes) as opposed to people who choose certain references specifically for their "usability" without the desire to have all the existing refs...
it is not necessarily about rares , uncommon or commons but about "collecting" to have a complete collection

I started out buying Mithrils specifically for RPG's, but really came to appreciate the skill of Chris, and began collecting all 32mm in the early '90s. Now I still RPG with some duplicate Mithrils, but keep my originals seperated. I also selected the Other box because I used Mithril Classics to create a Chess set (thanks Wendy!).

Hmm, I believe to be one of the "Other" I don't feel the need to collect the whole range. I only collect what I like, or what I can change, to like it more.

so far it seems that wargamers and RPGers are in minority, we have a majority of several kinds of collectors and painters and some diorama builders...
I invite anybody who has not cast his vote yet to do so... It's important to know the community..

I like painting and use my minis for various RPG, although I may retire some of the more valuable items.
