Welcome to another exciting chance to add your ideas and dreams to Mithril's LOTR miniatures. Post your suggestions here. ONE per member.
Chris and I have discussed doing something a little different for this month, just to shake things up a bit. This month you should suggest duel figures, with a strong Good vs Evil theme, preferably interacting in some logical way. Good examples would be 'Aragorn fighting an Orc Chieftain' or a 'Ringwraith stabbing Frodo with a sword'.
What is not suitable is evil duo or good duo. And NO mounts please or giant monsters.
The only other restriction is that the figures MUST conform to our license, so NO Silmarillion based characters are allowed. They have to be in the Hobbit or LOTR books. The final say is ours and no arguement will be allowed. Ask if you are worried about its eligiability.
Please submit ideas in the following format ONLY:
IDEA TITLE
"this is why I think 'Idea Title' is a good idea for this month..."
Make the title stand out (within reason) and separate from any supportive text by a paragragh. This will prevent Chris accidently overlooking it when he compiles the voting list later on. Otherwise it could be mistaken as a comment not a new suggestion.
Please add some quotes about where it is mentioned or give descriptions to promote your suggestion. Even add a picture or submit it to me to add to the gallery page. If you drum up support NOW, the you have a much better chance when it is time to vote.
Voting will begin on the 14th of June (first round). We stop taking suggestions at 16.00 GMT on the 13th.
You may add comments about other members suggestions as well. If you post any suggestions elsewhere it may not be seen or credited. Please post any suggestions in English. (That is all I can respond in, sorry). If you have any questions then post in the other thread provided for such questions.

Captain Meriadoc battling the Ruffian Leader at The Battle of Bywater, 1419 I think this would be an unusual duo as it is such an unlikely event, a hobbit doing battle with a man. From the Scouring of the Shire, Merry and Pippin rally the hobbits when the ruffians break out of the lane.... "Merry himself slew the leader, a great squint-eyed brute like a huge orc. Then he drew his forces off, encircling the last remnant of the Men in a wide ring of archers...." Originally I was going to suggest 'slaying', but battling might be considered more appropriate. Merry would be wearing the gear of war of Rohan, his horn at his side, and his shield (possibly) in his hand. I imagine the ruffian looking bewildered as he tries to keep the small hobbit in his sight, Merry could be behind him, leaping, holding onto the ruffian from behind as he is about to administer the fatal blow . The ruffian could be armed with any array of weapons, but probably a club or axe, or knife or a combination.

Golasgil, Lord of Anfalas faces a Khandish champion at the Pellenor Fields
Golasgil led his household warriors, and the people of his province to battle at the Pelennor Fields.
He is dressed like a Gondorian officer, though is dress is far rougher, with a wool cloak about his shoulders. His helmet has been cast off. He's an older man, of Dunedain and perhaps Dunlendish blood, still handsome, but weary with time and battle. He holds a spear, braced, ready to strike.
The Khandish champion is dressed like the Variag foot archer and the Variag lord, and bears a short sword and a wicker shield. A fierce warrior, ready to slay the Gondorian lord.
But he faces a mighty captain of great experience, and his blow will not fall. The spear will pierce him.
A scene full of violence and drama and movement, and two warriors fighting for their nations and lords, far from home.

Hello All. I'm new in the forum What about the most epic duel in the Middle Earth history? Fingolfin with his magic light armor and sword Ringil fighting and hurting seven times Melkor armed with his mace Grond. I guess it would be a nice good vs evil scenario.

Welcome, Elgranal.
The problem is that Mithril does not hold the license for "Silmarillion"-characters and events. Thus, anything that did not happen in The Hobbit" or "Lord of the Rings" is (sadly) not possible.
Now I am back into my corner and try to think of something that is not already done or obvious - like eg. Saruman vs. Gandalf, or Beorn vs. the Goblin King, or Mauhur vs. Eomer (fine suggestion, but should be credited to Shadyn) - or including the Witchking (who had his share of combats).

While I cannot submit an idea, don't overlook Gollum (evil). He has plenty of interactions with good guys. Including attacking Frodo or his time with Bilbo.

arghh michael I was about to submit the idea myself well here it is : The Final Confrontation between Frodo and Gollum on the edges of the Cracks of Doom[/size] I imagine both of them on a little edgy cliff, with Gollum and Frodo intertwinned with Gollum trying to reach Frodo's hand as he is trying to fill the ring on his finger to escape Gollum's assault... This Frodo would need to be a "finally" corrupted one, the Frodo who finally was not able to let go of the ring... so somewhat an "evil Frodo"... What do you think? Original isn't it? That would be epic!

Hi - very good suggestion Gildor
and a scene really missing in the mithril range so far
but according to the text the problem with the final confrontation between Frodo and Gollum is, that Frodo is INVISIBLE at that very moment, how would you depict that? Scupt both figures and try to paint Frodo "invisible"?
How about the scene immediately after Gollum has taken the One Ring from Frodo? Frodo on his knees with the bleeding left hand, Gollum dancing madly at the edge of the abyss, just before falling down?
now I will think about my suggestion...

you are d**n right Hwolf!! I was fooled again by the movie shame on me...
you are perfectly right we can switch to the VICTORY of Gollum dancing with the ring and the finger holding it in his hands just before fallin in the Cracks of Doom, with a deveated Frodo holding his hand crouched below Gollum
Thus if allowed by Michael I'd like to change the description of my suggestion to this one... so that it fits the book perfectly and not creates something wrong
(unless Mithril can sell "invisible paints"? lol )

ELDACAR IN MORTAL COMBAT WITH CASTAMIREldacar born as Vinitharya (TA 1255 – TA 1490) was the twenty-first King of Gondor and the son of Valacar and Vidumavi, he was born during the time his father was acting as ambassador to Rhovanion. His reign saw the already lingering unrest explode, for he was the son of princess Vidumavi, a daughter of the Northmen King Vidugavia, a lesser man. After ascending the throne in TA 1432, he reigned for five years when he was deposed and driven from Osgiliath into exile to Rhovanion by his far relative Castamir the Usurper, who reigned for ten bloody years in a civil war called the Kin-strife. While being in exile he slowly gathered support from the Northmen and the Dúnedain from the northern parts of Gondor. One reason for their hatred was that Castamir had executed Ornendil, Eldacar's firstborn son. By TA 1447, he had finally gathered enough strength and support and marched south with his army and slew Castamir personally in battle at the Crossings of Erui. But Castamir's sons escaped and Gondor's purest blood was spilt. He besieged Pelargir where Castamir's sons held out the last resistance. Eldacar had no ships at his disposal (for Castamir was the Lord of Ships of Gondor) and Castamir's sons finally fled to Umbar. We have no kings of Gondor in MS-serie. In this scene there are two! ;D

my suggestion fot the good versus evil this month Lossoth warrior or hunter attacked/affronted by a Snow TrollSnow Trolls are large (10-12 ft tall), rare creatures with grey-white hides and icy blue eyes that glow faintly in the dark. They can go for long periods without food, but when they see something edible, be it bear or Mannish hunter, they are unstoppable. When exposed to direct sunlight, Snow Trolls turn into huge pillars of icy slag, mysterious but fairly natural in appearance. In this form they are vulnerable to anything that harms ice: heat, sharp blows, salt - but if unharmed, they regain their normal form at nightfall. Gaunt and ghastly, Snow Trolls prowl and prey in the northern regions of Middle-earth. The good guy of the Lossoth tribe should be armed wiht a spear or harpoon, trying to save his live... or just running, looking back I will put out my pencils and do a sketch... go on suggesting, dear fellows - this will be a interresting month!

Well, Dave has already suggested the EXACT combination I was going to put forward. So next I thought of suggesting Sam and Rosie arguing about who was going to get up to feed Elanor, but that would require furniture. So I finally settled on -
[glow=red,2,300]BEREGOND FIGHTING A TROLL BEFORE THE BLACK GATES[/glow]
- and can only hope that a troll doesn't count as a "giant monster"!
The trolls here are described as "Taller and broader than Men ... and they were clad in close-fitting mesh of horny scales, or maybe that was their hideous hide; but they bore round bucklers huge and black and wielded heavy hammers in their knotty hands."

Sorry Barli , oddly enough I had considered your suggestion, but didn't in case the troll was considered a giant/monster. Would love to see it though

[glow=red,2,300]Moria Troll fighting Frodo[/glow] I imagine Frodo trying to defend himself with Sting against a Moria Troll trying to put him on the spit thinking of having a nice snack after killing all the members of the fellowship. ;D

********** Bandobras Tuk fighting Golfimbul *********
Bandobras Tuk is a hobbit, whose story is told in the novel The Hobbit. Bramador Toro also called, the son of Isengrim II. It measured four feet and a half and was able to ride a horse, being the tallest hobbit all known, except for Merry and Pippin.
Bandobras was especially known for leading the hobbits in the only battle fought within the borders of the Shire to the War of the Ring, the Battle of Greenfields. Occurred in the year 2747 T. E., when a band of goblins from Mount Gram and led by their king Golfimbul, entered the Shire. The battle ended in victory for the hobbits and the king's death at the hands of Bandobras Orco, with a tremendous blow of his wooden truncheon, he pulled his head.
In The Hobbit does not specify that Bandobras Tuk ride a horse when he fought Golfimbul.
You can go dressed in armor, helmet, iron-tipped baton, having a shield. This collected during his many adventures, is a Tuk, do not forget.
Golfimbul is a king orc, I imagine, fat, slow and heavy.
And recently gave this idea.
Now I think would be ideal, Brandobras Tuk must have its thumbnail in the collection of Mithril. !!!!
Later Brandoras a miniature horse would be great.!!!

I had 2 ideas using Tom Bombadil.
1st: "Tom Bombadil commanding Old Man Willow to release hobbits" 2nd: "Tom Bombadil expelling the Barrow-wight"
Then Old Man Willow is for sure a "Giant monster", so such suggestion does not meet what is requested for this month suggestion. (Maybe It shall be a future MB like "white Council")
OK, here is my suggestion:
"Tom Bombadil expelling the Barrow-wight"
This is not a pure fight with weapons clashes, but for sure it is a special Good vs Evil confrontation.
Tom is shouting in a "daddy" pause. I mean he would scold the creature. Barrow-wight is shunning like a terrified child.
I would also like this to be a comic scene: For instance Tom Bombadil could be rubbing his hands gleefully and Barrow-wight arms could be in "hands up" position.

Well, that's my suggestion:
Thorongil fighting Umbar Captain of the Haven
"Umbar's fleet was largely destroyed 29 years later, when Thorongil (Aragorn Elessar, as it later turned out), then in the service of the Steward of Gondor Ecthelion II, led a taskforce south and burned them, killing the Captain of the Haven in the process." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Umbar)
Well, I have made this proposal because it's the only version of Aragorn that we have not seen on Mithril. We have seen him as child (fleeing with his mother), as Strider in various sets and as King Elessar.
I would like to see Aragorn / Thorongil with Gondor clothes and armor, but the ones of a normal soldier / officer, nor the luxurious and magnificent of Elessar. As he was involved in a great battle, it would be possible that he carries a small shield, and maybe a helm too.
About the Captain of the Haven of Umbar, well, I think of him equipped with a scimitar and a small shield, or maybe an two-hand scimitar( the spanish word is "alfanje", I don't have found the english equivalent - maybe "cutlass" or "swordfish") , with a scale or padded armor and a very elaborated helm.
As soon as I find a picture, I'll add it as possible reference.
Best Regards,
Imisel

Perhaps not quite in theme, but I suggest:
Shagrat vs Gorbag
...fighting in orc fashion, maybe one biting the other.
Orcs fighting each other makes for some pivotal moments in LOTR which have a huge impact on the direction of the story.
