Welcome to another exciting chance to add your ideas and dreams to Mithril's LOTR miniatures. Post your suggestions here. ONE per member.
This month's ideas is for single figures only, so no mounted or Vignettes (more than 2 people or a lot of furniture + two people) please. A mounted figure counts as two figures (horse/camel/warg/etc)
The only other restriction is that the figures MUST conform to our license, so NO Silmarillion based characters are allowed. They have to be in the Hobbit or LOTR books. The final say is ours and no arguement will be allowed. Ask if you are worried about its eligiability.
Please submit ideas in the following format ONLY:
IDEA TITLE
"this is why I think 'Idea Title' is a good idea for this month..."
Make the title stand out (within reason) and separate from any supportive text by a paragragh. This will prevent Chris accidently overlooking it when he compiles the voting list later on. Otherwise it could be mistaken as a comment not a new suggestion.
Please add some quotes about where it is mentioned or give descriptions to promote your suggestion. Even add a picture or submit it to me to add to the gallery page. If you drum up support NOW, the you have a much better chance when it is time to vote.
Voting will begin on the 17th of August (first round). We stop taking suggestions at 16.00 GMT on the 15th.
You may add comments about other members suggestions as well. If you post any suggestions elsewhere it may not be seen or credited. Please post any suggestions in English. (That is all I can respond in, sorry). If you have any questions then post in the other thread provided for such questions.

My Suggestion: Ranger of the North Mail clad, wrapped in furs and a long thick cloak, the Ranger stands with Anarath against Angmar or with Aragorn against the orcs and trolls of Eriador (or the Southrons on the Pellenor). Drawing inspiration from the Anarath figure, the Watcher at Sarn Ford and even the old Prince August Ranger. Maybe he is drawing a sword, or maybe he's defending against an attack with a spear. Note: It seems your image is not showing up. Perhaps you can source it from somewhere else or save it and host it yourself. ~ Michael

Mauhur Orc Commander of Isengard Named three times in The Two Towers (p.72,75,76) He led his band of fighters in an attempt to come to the rescue of Uglak and his band while they were surrounded. Instead he helped cause a distraction that allowed Merry and Pippin to escape. This sugestion has been made by me and by others before.

Very nice gilgalad; if he wins I hope it is with a base shaped into a few steps. Gollum is small, so the extra metal shouldn't be too expensive.

I'm going to try something new this month not the snow troll, nor the undead standart bearer
I suggest for the "Battle at Helms Deep" Theme
Awaken Huorn of Fangorn Forest "swallowing" a Half orc/ Uruk-hai
It is a big mystery what has happenend after the Battle of Helm's Deep with all the surviving and fleeing half orcs and Uruk Hai of Sarumans Army as in the morning the Huorns were gone and no body of the enemy was to be found in the valley – only trampled grass and soil
So it could be a nice special fellowship miniature to depict what could have happened in the night and do not forget, the Huorns are also strange, but mighty allies of the good guys.
I imagine a figure more treelike, not that personnal as an ent, but with recognizable head, maybe limbs like arms and legs like M190 Huorn Killer Tree in an angry / fierce pose which has somewhere a part of the body of an orc figure - maybe the head, breast and one arm still outside the "body" of the Huorn or the body of the orc under his "foot/roots"
Like the imagination of Hobbit's legs and feet still outside the tree-trunk at the encounter with Old Man Willow
Or the very hideous pose when the Huorn is going to swallow the orc figure with a wide mouth like a serpent, just legs outside or arms and head...
In any case it should be one figure on one base - not two seperate ones of course
About Huorns
Some creatures are almost like trees. The only difference is that they can move, and pretty fast too. There are many of them in Fangorn, and they communicate with the ents. They are not ents, but huorns. Their worst enemy are the orcs, due to their heedless axing of trees. They are accounted by many ents as dangerous. This is proved when Huorn take their well-earned revenge on the orcs. During the battle at Helm's deep, the Huorns travelled down to get rid of Uruk Hai, Saruman's orcs. The Company found a strange forest outside Helm's deep after the battle, which wasn't there before. Gandalf and Legolas were the only ones that understood that this wasn't wizardry, but a forest of Huorns.

FARAMIR FIGHTING AT THE CAUSEWAY FORTSSeige of Gondor. The Enemy having taken Osigiliath marches onwards, Faramir rallies his men at the Causeway Forts.... "The next day, though the darkness had reached its full and grew no deeper, it weighed heavier on men's hearts, and a great dread was on them. Ill news came soon again. The passaage of Anduin was won by the Enemy. Faramir was retreating to the wall of the Pelennor, rallying his men to the Causeway Forts; but he was ten times outnumbered".Faramir fully armoured in chain mail as he struggles to fight back the host of Sauron sent across the Anduin. With shield out-thrust fending off an orc's scimitar, and weilding his sword to strike a mighty counter-stroke, helm on head and cloak (optional). Not specifically described, but Alan Lee has painted a nice interpretation that could be either the defence of Osgiliath or the Causeway Forts (this suggestion would not of course be mounted as in the painting). Suggestion modified as quite rightly pointed out M200 Faramir at Osgiliath already exists

Let I see what would happend this time with this suggestion...
Vidugavia - Prince of Rhovanion
Vidugavia was the most powerful leader of the Northmen during the 1200s of the Third Age. He used the title King of Rhovanion although his realm encompassed only the part of Rhovanion
Appendix A of The Lord of the Rings: "Gondor and the Heirs of Anarion," p. 326-27

Merry with dagger fighting at Amon Hen
This would be when Boromir is fighting off the orcs and Merry is helping him.

[glow=red,2,300]GIRION OF DALE[/glow] This suggestion has been made by others before, and I have always thought it would be nice to see Chris' interpretation of him.
A Lord of Dale who enjoyed the friendship of the Dwarves of nearby Erebor. Girion was a wealthy lord, and Dale in his time was said to contain many fine things. He owned a famous necklace said to be made from five hundred emeralds, which he gave in payment to the Dwarves for a marvellous mail coat they created for his eldest son.
Girion's prosperous rule came to a sudden end when the Dragon Smaug descended on Erebor. Dale was also laid waste, and Girion was slain, but his wife and younger sons were able to escape down the River Running to Esgaroth. There they and their descendants remained, until nearly two hundred years later Girion's descendant Bard succeeded in slaying the Dragon and rebuilding his ancestor's township of Dale. Master David.... we already have M200 - Faramir at Oshiliath... ! Ooops, yes we do - was concentrating on GF suggestions and totally forgot this figure already existed. Although having said that, I am looking at a far more agressive pose of Faramir in combat - the M200 to me is more of a passive pose almost as if he is holding his helm and holding his sword aloft in salute of something. But thanks for pointing it out Master Thingol ;D

>> I agree with you that pose of M200 Faramir is like mannequin on the set of the show... but it is still Faramit at Osgiliath << << I also like the suggestion of a new Faramir but easy enough: just call it Faramir in Combat-pose or something like that
