Mithril is running a painting competition centred around this vignette until September 15th.
1. The subject is MS578 "The Passing of Elessar".
2. You cannot alter the vignette in any way (no removing or adjusting of the figures or base).
3. No digital painting is allowed, no digital effects are allowed except for basic contrast and brightness adjustments and simple cropping to improve the overall composition.
4. Text is not allowed.
5. Small nameplates are allowed but it MUST only have the official name of the release.
6. Competition ends September 15th.
7. Submit entries by email to info@princeaugust.ie in the form of jpegs with highest quality possible.
8. Making a diorama is allowed as long as the base is not obscured and rule no.2 is not broken. Do not obscure IN ANY WAY the view of the vignette with other characters not included in this vignette.
9. Same entry cannot win more than 1 prize.
10. Competition requires minimum of 3 entries from different people to be valid. Each entry should have at least 3 photos from different angles to best show off their entry. PLEASE see Rule 11 for clarification.
11. NEW RULE: please keep the angles of the vignette similar as possible when photographed to the angles shown on our website for the unpainted version. Especially the two shown here.
You may wonder why we ask these kind of things, well its quite simple. We want to show your photos off and it needs to represent the product. If it is changed, obscured, got text across it, etc, then it no longer can be used in this manner.
This does not stop you making more complex dioramas for our gallery pages, but not for the competition.
First prize is 2 new MS releases (released in February & March 2012).
Second prize is one new MS release in either Feb or March2012).
If for whatever reason Mithril does NOT release some MS during those months the prize carries over to the next release. I think you get the idea.
Ask any questions you have here or email me.
