Welcome to another exciting chance to add your ideas and dreams to Mithril's LOTR miniatures. Post your suggestions here. ONE per member.
The options for this month's vote will be a single figure, human or non-human, which has a NORTHERN theme, whether it be one of the snowmen denizens of Forochel, an explorer of the Grey mountains, a creature of the Withered Heath or anything else from the cold north of Middle-earth. Please keep suggestions to creatures which are no larger than large trolls.
The only other restriction is that the figures MUST conform to our license, so NO Silmarillion based characters are allowed. They have to be in the Hobbit or LOTR books. The final say is ours and no arguement will be allowed. Ask if you are worried about its eligibility.
Please submit ideas in the following format ONLY:
IDEA TITLE
"this is why I think 'Idea Title' is a good idea for this month..."
Make the title stand out (within reason) and separate from any supportive text by a paragragh. This will prevent Chris accidently overlooking it when he compiles the voting list later on. Otherwise it could be mistaken as a comment not a new suggestion.
Please add some quotes about where it is mentioned or give descriptions to promote your suggestion. Even add a picture or submit it to me to add to the gallery page. If you drum up support NOW, the you have a much better chance when it is time to vote.
Voting will begin on the 14th of September (first round). We stop taking suggestions at 16.00 GMT on the 13th.
You may add comments about other members suggestions as well. If you post any suggestions elsewhere it may not be seen or credited. Please post any suggestions in English. (That is all I can respond in, sorry).

As I just read Mr Tubb's ideas provided in the latest newsletter ... I think this time it might be the "Snow-Troll". - Though I will not pass on this as a suggestion. I do remember well that someone else suggested this figure before.

Lossoth woman, with skates
"The Lossoth house in the snow, and it is said that they can run on the ice with bones on their feet, and have carts without wheels." - RotK.
ICE's Northern Waste has a wealth of inspiration and as far as her dress and hair style, I'm thinking specifically of the image of the Merimetsästäjät (or "Sea-hunters," a Lossoth division) on page 31. She would wear a long, thick coat with slits at the sides (not unlike MS469) and thick boots with skates at the bottom. ICE's Merimetsästäjät are fond of jewelry, so I would think a necklace of beads or bone around her neck and her hair half-pulled back, half-falling out of large hairpin. I have a whimsical pose in mind, where she's standing and slightly bent over at the waist, so that her hands are on her knees, with a thick Lossoth cap in her hands (to account for why she's out on the ice without any head protection on). She would be looking forward with a broad smile on her face.
I'm new to the Fellowship (though I've been buying Mithril since the 90s) -- I hope it isn't presumptuous to make a suggestion so soon.

Hello and Welcome enheduanna! That is a great suggestion, and would match well with the Lossoth Hunter which was made a couple of years ago.

SNOW TROLL - dressed in winter pumpkin with the hood over head, with fishing net over his shoulder and with harpoon.....
.... there is no need to be a big troll... in a size like past few trolls...

[glow=red,2,300]FEMALE DWARF OF THE IRON HILLS[/glow]
She has been suggested by many others before. It would be a challenge for Chris to sculpt a female dwarf. I imaginge she would be sturdy in build and without facial hair, perhaps in every day garb.
Another possibility is that dwarven women gear up with armor and weapons to defend their homeland/mountain halls, but do not venture away any great distance to fight in foreign lands. In this case, the female dwarf would be attired in the same gear as male Iron Hills warriors.
There are many possibilities with this popular suggestion.

ROGROG, Warlord of the Yrch Angmar"Rogrog is Warlord of the Yrch Angmar, and has commanded the Orcs and Trolls of Angmar since the founding of the kingdom. It was Rogrog's forces that sacked the capital of Cardolan, and the Warlord himself who slew Osthir, the last prince of Cardolan. His name inspires terror and obedience within the Yrch Angmar, and he has considerable influence with the Orcs of Mount Gundabad and Mount Gram. Rogrog resides in Carn Dûm when he is not campaigning for the Witch-king. He spends his time supervising and drilling the 20,000 Orcs and wolf-riders who dwell there. He has instilled the Orcs of Carn Dûim with a sense of discipline that is rare in their kind. Rogrog is also the commander of two hoerkal: that of the Olog-hai and Hobgoblins. He has molded these two hoerkal into the most fearsome in all of the Iron Land. The Warlord wields unquestioned authority over the Yrch Angmar stationed along the northern frontiers of Angmar and Arthedain. These Orcs are strung out along the northern border of Arthedain, forming a barrier between the Dúnedain and the Lossoth. Hobgoblins make their homes in caves among the plateaus and ridges of the region. They sometimes add iron "tarps," which provide portable protection from the sunlight, to their meager shelters. The hills are riddled with tunnels which enable the foul creatures to move through the region without a trace" Attachments:

Ha tolwen! I'm sure that any Female Dwarf would have taken her blade to someone so insolent as to try to "shave" her. As would all of her brethern!
But in the meantime, Master tolwen, while the Dwarves search for the culprit, why not make a suggestion for a figure this month? It seems as though many FG members are on Summer vacation.

Mannish captain of Carn Dum - A large man in mail, and furs with an ornate helmet. Armed with a curved sword and large shield. His pose could be that of a leader encouraging his troops into the fray.

Chieftain or eldest of the Lossoth
I'd like to suggest the leading person of the Lossoth tribe, the one with the most experience - this could be a man or a woman His or her clothes should be more rich embroidered than the other tribe people. A long warm coat made of seal leather with patterns, fur trimming and a hood. Maybe there is a circlet on the head to show the high position of the personality. If it is a man he whould have no or very few growth of beard, but very much wrinkles in his face.
This figure can fit in the scene when King Arvedui seeks the help of the Snow-men of Forochel.

Oh yeah - I've seen that. I don't have a good idea for this theme though. I might get back next time, but for this this it seejms I'm out of memory so to say... Cheers Tolwen
