Welcome to another exciting chance to add your ideas and dreams to Mithril's LOTR miniatures. Post your suggestions here. ONE per member.
This month's ideas are for single figures only, so no mounted figures or Vignettes (more than 2 people or a lot of furniture + two people) please. A mounted figure counts as two figures (horse/camel/warg/etc). However THIS time we have a special purpose behind your suggestions.
Chris has offered to do a portrait of the winners face on the sculpt. So when you suggest an idea make sure it is a race and profession that you feel compliments your personality. You will submit photos to Chris on winning to allow him to sculpt your features onto August's winning miniature. There are some conditions: 1. The races can only be human, dwarf or elf and if you choose a dwarf you MUST have a beard in real life. 2. The suggestions can only be NPC's not main characters, so you cannot suggest Aragorn or Legolas or Thorin or Gandalf for instance. Previous examples of portraits done by Chris is M389 Peddler (a self portrait) and M192 Hundin Bandit Chief (John Treadaway).
Now I know some of you might want OTHER races involved, but Chris simply does not want to mismatch a human head on a tiny Hobbit or try to stick a human face onto an Ent. So try to match the character with what you are actually like. You don't want to turn the winning idea into a farce.
For those not suggesting ideas (why not, this is a very rare opportunity) you can still vote for your favourite character as this will be a unique sculpt and very collectable regardless of whose face eventually appears on the winning figure.
The only other restriction is that the figures MUST conform to our license, so NO Silmarillion based characters are allowed. They have to be in the Hobbit or LOTR books. The final say is ours and no arguement will be allowed. Ask if you are worried about its eligibility.
Please submit ideas in the following format ONLY:
IDEA TITLE "this is why I think 'Idea Title' is a good idea for this month..."
Make the title stand out (within reason) and separate from any supportive text by a paragragh. This will prevent Chris accidently overlooking it when he compiles the voting list later on. Otherwise it could be mistaken as a comment not a new suggestion.
Please add some quotes about where it is mentioned or give descriptions to promote your suggestion. Even add a picture or submit it to me to add to the gallery page. If you drum up support NOW, the you have a much better chance when it is time to vote.
Voting will begin on the 15th of August. We stop taking suggestions at 16.00 GMT on the 14th.
You may add comments about other members suggestions as well. If you post any suggestions elsewhere it may not be seen or credited. Please post any suggestions in English. (That is all I can respond in, sorry).

Numenorean (or Dunadan) lord with his two twin babies in his arms
(sorry i could not resist as my twin babies were just born one week ago...maybe it's lacking neutrality too much ...and i have a goatee so can't be depicted as an elf...bu a noble human lord returning from war, clad in armor who greets and meets his newborn twin children would be cool)

Female Sylvan elf herbalist
I stroll woods, forests and fields for herbs, roots or berries. Each day I learn from Yavanna her secrets. I studied herbalism for 4 years with my mentors and since collect sustenance, medicinal herbs or poison in the shrine of nature. Not tall for an elf girl, my long dark hair is my father lineage heritage. I wear short dress like all my kind, hairs braided and potions and leaves attached to my belt. A small bak in one hand and a knives for digging in the other one

ddaines, well because the suggestion has to NOT be a personnality because for continuity, personnalities are always depicted the same way... and honestly I am not bald, nor have a mustache

Bree Forest Warden.
Human kind, average tall (1,80m), quite strong (95kg), left handed, with green eyes and beard. He holds a small knife in his left hand, and a very big mushroom in the other !

One more "Gondorian Officer"
This is why I think "Gondorian Officer" is a good idea for this month: I like the idea to "expand" the launched mihril-series with some special fellowship miniatures - impressiv heroes indeed or also proud and noble characters but no legends. Due to this point I think it would be nice to get a further Gondorian officer to fit into the Gondors army-range. One Gondorian noble/knight leading and encouraging a Gondorian spearmen troup, storming forward with them, his sword upraised and shouting his orders to clash into their near, fearsome and multiple enimies.

a little addendum to my suggestion : Though the suggestion cannot be a personnality and won't be named (thus no copyright issue), there are some famous twins in Tolkien universe that could be used as exemples for sculpting (besides the face) as inspiration if the suggestion wins : - Dior (half-elven son of Beren & Luthien) had twins : Elured & Elurin - Earendil the Mariner had twins : Elrond & Elros - Folcwine of Rohan had twins : Folcred and Fastred - Haldad, one of the three fathers of the Edain, had twins : Haleth & Haldar
I think Dior or Earendil may have had too much elven blood to have a "goatee" so this might not do, but since it is not supposed to be "them", and since the final figurine is anonymous, depending on the sculpting Chris chooses it could be "used" to depict at least one of those personnalities "unofficially"

Marine Sergeant of Dol Amroth In a relaxed pose, holding a boarding pike (upright) in both hands, arms held across his chest, one foot raised slightly resting on a coiled rope. He could be gazing at some ship on the horizon (I'll try and submit a sketch to illustrate ).

Hmmm let me see: I'm not that tall for an elf, but not short and stout enough for a dwarf, just human I think I have a goatee around the mouth, but my straight brown hair is extraordinary loooong at the moment, down to the hip! I like arts and nature, animals are dear to me, everyday there are squirrels and lots of birds on our terrace at home. Especially I like dogs. So I like to suggest a hunter out of Bree or a city in Arnor, clad in ranger garb with boots, armed with Bow and a knife and with a hunting hound puppy like a retriever or springer spaniel on his arm or besides him, connected to the miniature like the cat of the first Radagast figure M84.
We have some nice mithril dogs, but there is no puppy so far

I'd like to be rendered as
ELFHELM
fighting on foot at the second battle of the Fords of Isen.
I have a sufficiently authoritative beard to make a convincing warrior of Rohan (so long as Elfhelm was also slightly overweight), and more to the point the Mithril range STILL lacks a figure of Elfhelm anywhere within its range of figures, ever – an omission that it's time to rectify. (Failing that I could be rendered in my everyday job of cleaning out the toilets in the Pony...or not?)
All that aside, since I imagine that everyone is going to vote for their own suggestions, deciding who's going to feature in round two will be a challenge!

Hi Master Barliman.
The number of propositions is still far away from the count of Mithril fellowship members. The votes will be interesting and open to surprises.

Allright but it's one of the most beautiful of german towns! Hi yes of course! Just drop me a line shortly before you are planning your visit! But remember I am working also! So please choose an evening or weekend day for meeting To meet other mithril maniacs in real life is very interesting, I think.

A Ranger of the North or of Ithilien
Standing upright, at ease as if surveying his surroundings with an admiring gaze, trying to discern something far in the distance, or simply lost in a moment of thought. Dark features and hair with a perpetual shadow of stubble across his jawline. A cloak on his back, hood down, perhaps a pack or bedroll slung over his shoulder, a sword at his belt, his longbow in front of him, the bottom end resting on the ground with his hands relaxed on top of it. Or perhaps he stands with all his gear, including his bow, on his back.
Yes, another Fellowship Member suggesting a Ranger, but can you ever have too many roaming the forests of Middle Earth? And besides, if I'm lucky enough to ever have a miniature carry my likeness, then it must be of my favorite class; the character type I have always admired most and longed to be in my daydreams of Tolkien's world. I like the idea of a relaxed character, not running, fighting, or tracking (at least not obviously), but simply taking a moment to survey his surroundings.
Thanks for this opportunity! Very kind of it to be offered.

I'm not a kid anymore but I would suggest rohir peasant kid being armed for helm's deep battle.
I'm no sure if it appears in the books or not. To be honest I've read silmarillion and the hobbit lots of times but only once lotr. But it is one of my favourite scenes of the film, I guess it's really emotive.
