I think I'll vote for Elfhelm or the witch king in the second turn... I think it's a single vote this time.... No second turn for challengers !!@ mmh you are correct indeed , a single vote this month... well then, I'll sacrifice my own suggestion then... (a pity I have to vote "against" a suggestion rather than "for" one...but well that's how voting goes...) I have nothing against Haradrim sculptures by Chris, Hwolf, but this is the eternal debate : I buy mithril because they are Tolkien, and you can point at a glasscase saying THIS one is... "name a character"... If I want beautiful figures, I buy Pegaso, Andrea, or any kind of brands doing great figurines too (sometimes even better than mithril, in another scale) no what I like to buy is figurines I can clearly give a "soul" to when I paint them... I cannot manage to paint a figurine that is anonymous, I complety lack any "inspiration" to paint anonymous characters...

I'm agree with Gildor here... reason of collecting this figures for me is the ability to make of those figures, in my imagination connection with the characters from the books ... nothing else... There's a handful of figures that can still be made. True, this idea of Troy is great and soon we will have almost all important Harad figures... this time my vote goes for Elfhelm...and if I pull the voice, I'll give it to you Troy... on the day prior to the expiration of the voting

Thank you Thingol! It was Ddaines that suggested the Haradrim this month. He is one of many supporters for this Harad project. I also like Elfhelm and will be shifting my focus to Rohan later this year.

Hoummmmm... sory David I did not noticed that this Harad drummer was your suggestion... usual for me is that Troy proposes such characters

It's all getting complicated, isn't it? I too shall swap my support to another deserving suggestion if Elfhelm's chances don't improve.

What exactly is complicated, Barliman? So far I did not place my vote, as there still is time left. I cannot haste. - Though, in case I had there would still be time enough left to shift it there and back again.

Wow! Thanks for the support. Forward the two Kings in mortal combat!
And these are two "Tolkien Characters, Gildor, aren't they? You can tell anybody: "That are Eldacar and Castamir, Kings of Gondor in combat."

I have no problem with painting anonymous characters. As long as it's a beautiful figure (which Mithril usually is), I will buy it and I can paint it. So I would welcome a classic 'range' of any race or population in the normal M-range, just like in the early years.

What on earth (sorry, Middle-earth) has happened to the votes? The mounted drummer had five votes when I last looked, and Elfhelm had four, but now the drummer has zero and Elfhelm has surged to eight... Is everyone swapping their votes round, or has something gone wrong?

I bet it will be two guys in heavy late-medieval plate armour this time...

People are switching their votes. That is what you can do when your first choice is about to lose and your second choice has a better chance of winning. This is the reason that Michael made it possible for us to change our votes. There are 11 members who have not yet changed votes to something that can win.

No complaints from me - Elfhelm is now within sight of the finishing line for the first time since I started suggesting him seven years ago...

I find it odd to see so many changes in the votes oO , but I agree with you Hwolf Eldacar vs Castamir is a vignette of my very liking, switched my vote to it

....and as usual every time for the past seven years, Elfhelm looks like he won't win after all. Seven years. Why do I bother?

It is unfortunate that the first mounted month in two years might be won by miniatures on foot that could be made any other month.

Post by Gildor on Aug 4, 2014 14:34:55 GMT
well we have to consider that mounted months also mean "small vignette" month, which are as rare as mounted... I really expect Eldacar/Castamir to be a vignette of "fight", not two single figurine in the same package, else I don't see the point...

mmhh it seems it's a tie, who will be the winner in this case? Elfhelm, or the fight between Eldacar and Castamir?
Chris has the last word when it comes to a tie, I'm curious to know his preference

It's always possible that some more votes will be placed, though they'll be "cutting it a bit fine", as we say here in Bree.
No, I take it back - I see the poll is now locked.
