Hello,
I am now a "Fellowship Club" member stopping in to say hello.
I have known of Mithril Miniatures for over twenty years and have owned various figures throughout those years. I first became aware of Mithril while collecting MERP books. I always loved how I.C.E.'s MERP line and the M-series worked together back then. Mithril minis always appeared much more lovingly created and sculpted than any minis I had seen then or since. With it's distinctive grey coating and amazing detail (for such small figures) I picked up some here and there. I am no painter and cringed at the thought of marring one of these little guys so they always remained in their original grey. However, that MERP and Mithril collection was given away/sold/lost in moves/etc. over the proceeding decades. After many years (and now older and in a solid financial state) I decided to re-explore that past. I went back and tracked down all the old 1st/2nd edition MERP modules, guidebooks, etc. and remembered those old Mithril figures and said to myself, "Why not?!"
So here I am starting out again with much to catch up with. I have already started hunting down as many of the M-series figures I can but I know I have a long way (and wait) to go until I start to feel like I'm making a dent in the missing figures list. I can only hope that more individuals such as myself find again their past passion for this line of figures and join in collecting again. I am looking forward to buying the new Fellowship figures as they come out (need to figure out how to get on that automatic pre-purchase list) and trying to find those figures from the past.
I also hope to share my passion with others who love what has been created by those responsible for the Mithril line over all these years.
Best regards,
David
p.s. Any help or advise on tracking down older M-series figures would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
