On schedule we start the 2nd round. This is an open vote so you will see the current status prior to posting your own vote. The first round was won by 'Boat of Lothlorien with Gimli and Legolas' but there are plenty of undecided votes that can upset that apple-cart so the ultimate winner is far from decided.
Since there is a May bank holiday weekend coming up (yippee!) we will end the vote at midnight on May 1st.

Thank you all who voted in the 1st round for my Boats of Lothlorien idea. I just hope it can win out against the Haradan camel charging as I would love to have that one as well. If my boat idea does win this month it will make for a very nice present as my birthday is the day after voting ends!

Pleased as I am to see my Dunedan reach Round 2 (since that holds out hope for his cause at some point in the future), my heart is with Master Mindx2's Elf boat floating on the Anduin, so I've abandoned my own cause and voted for Gimli and Legolas! Probably unnecessarily, since I'm sure it will win regardless.

The Haradan camelrider is one of the best minis of the range (imho), and having a similar miniature would be greatly appreciated.
The boat, however, is where my vote goes. That said, any of the 12 suggestions would make a welcome addition to the range. We definitely need more mounted months - especially as even a fox and sleeping hobbit count as "multiples"... :-)

I agree, Axel, about the very need of more "mounted Months". With that we're not alone. But concerning camel riders you seem to have forgotten to mention the MS468 which also is a magnificent figure I think.

I also voted for the boat, as we already have a camel rider in the MS-range (MS468). Besides I wonder if it is right to present a warrior charging on a camel. I thought that in real history camels were mainly used as transport animals, and that they were not suited for using in a battle or a fight. Maybe it happened from time to time, but it would not be very handy. But please correct me if I'm wrong.

The strong odor of camels also make crazy horses in close combat

Indeed. So right you are, Master Mornedhel, as far as I can judge. Maybe Master Barliman, who among us must have best knowledge and research about these matters, might be willing to comment on this. I wish he has the time to do that.

Camels were once used extensively in warfare, but not generally for close combat. Although they could gallop at up to 65kph/40mph and were able to put up with loud noises (some armies fired small guns from their backs!), they were intelligent creatures and could become skittish once they realised their lives were at risk.
Although they would "charge" in the direction of enemy troops, I don't think I've ever read of them "charging home" in the same way that horsed cavalry did, and I doubt very much that they could be made to charge into steady troops formed up in battle array. Cavalry might have been spooked by their smell, but infantry would have stood firm.
So far as I'm aware they served mostly or exclusively either as transport for baggage and mounted infantry, or as mobile firepower platforms, whether their riders were armed with bows or firearms. (If anyone knows of any references to camels charging home against formed troops I'd love to know about it!)

Thank you very much, Barliman. - I always appreciate the statement of an expert, that's why I asked.

Yippee! I'm so much more excited about this figure than I was with the Oathbreaker of Dunharrow. I hope there are more mounted figure months than we've had so we can get the entire Fellowship floating down the clear waters of the Aduin.
