I will leave the basic rules below for reference in case any disagreements arrise. We have decided to allow the hobbit suggestion as a special case after a request from one of our customers. This vote is a closed vote so you will only see the current status after you submit your vote. You have until midnight on the 24th to add yours. Please don't wait until the last minute in case you miss out.
The Half-orc is excluded as Chris feels no one would look like that.
This month's ideas are for single figures only, so no mounted figures or Vignettes (more than 2 people or a lot of furniture + two people) please. A mounted figure counts as two figures (horse/camel/warg/etc). However THIS time we have a special purpose behind your suggestions.
Chris has offered to do a portrait of the winners face on the sculpt. So when you suggest an idea make sure it is a race and profession that you feel compliments your personality. You will submit photos to Chris on winning to allow him to sculpt your features onto August's winning miniature. There are some conditions: 1. The races can only be human, dwarf or elf and if you choose a dwarf you MUST have a beard in real life. 2. The suggestions can only be NPC's not main characters, so you cannot suggest Aragorn or Legolas or Thorin or Gandalf for instance. Previous examples of portraits done by Chris is M389 Peddler (a self portrait), M192 Hundin Bandit Chief (John Treadaway) and MS603 Female Sylvan Elf (Luthien4tinuvielle).
Now I know some of you might want OTHER races involved, but Chris simply does not want to mismatch a human head on a tiny Hobbit or try to stick a human face onto an Ent. So try to match the character with what you are actually like. You don't want to turn the winning idea into a farce.
For those not suggesting ideas (why not, this is a very rare opportunity) you can still vote for your favourite character as this will be a unique sculpt and very collectible regardless of whose face eventually appears on the winning figure.
The only other restriction is that the figures MUST conform to our license, so NO Silmarillion based characters are allowed. They have to be in the Hobbit or LOTR books. The final say is ours and no arguement will be allowed. Ask if you are worried about its eligibility.

...but... but I actually am the size of a hobbit... Seriously, I'm under 4 feet (1.2 meters) tall so I wouldn't look right on a elf, human or really a dwarf either since I have no beard. Otherwise I would have suggested a hobbit artisan painting/ assembling some small figure or toy (of course purchased from a master wizard/ artisan ).

Woodmen lord in armour ...armed with sword and shield. It would be interesting to see Chris' interpretation of what Woodmen armour should look like, since the Woodmen we've seen thus far in the Mithril range have all been lightly equipped, and the only "chieftain" released is in civilian guise.

Can't there be a special exemption for Master mindX, Michael? He has a very valid case for being allowed to be a Hobbit, and Hobbits theoretically are (or were - I think mindX and my wife are amongst the very last of their kind...) related to Men.

The Drunken Miller
Originally I thought of this idea as 'The Drunken Inn-keep' (can’t think who I had in mind) and pictured the inebriated inn-keeper contentedly laying back, fast asleep against a barrel of his finest ale after the last customer had gone . But as our resident Bar-keep has submitted a suggestion, albeit a different subject, I decided on a drunken miller instead, who, after a hard day’s grinding, has succumbed to the bottle and snores the night away propped up against a sack of flour. As he sleeps a rat looks on which in turn is being eyed up by the mill’s cat. I hasten to add, that I’m not quite the proportion of the miller (at least not yet!!!).

Half-Orc of Isengard climbing a ladder, holding in his left hand his shield over his head for protection. He is wearing chain mail and a helmet. His sword is still in the sheath. There is single handed axe on a rope, hanging off his right wrist.

Noldorin Scribe in the Library of Imladris
Elven scribe, preferably seated, working on his version of the Silmarillion ( Hope that does not contravene the license )
Flowing elven robes similar to one of Elronds, bare headed, holding a fancy feather quill and a look of concentration. I think I can do concentration without looking too constipated.
A writing desk with a large leather bound book, ink pot and scrolls would be nice but not necessary.

Dunedain Ranger of the Grey Company"Valdauron looked across the rugged landscape of the Weather Hills, his home. A snowflake fell, he drew his weather-stained cloak around his tall frame and the fading winter sun glinted off the rayed star on his left shoulder. He shivered, the light chain vest was cold under his jacket. He strapped on his helm - a family heirloom from a different age - and checked his bow and bags where secure.
He was ready, the call had gone out that Aragorn had need of his Kindred: great deeds where afoot in the far south. Valdauron would head to Bree to meet the others that would form the Grey Company. How many would come he thought? 30? 40? His kin were spread far an wide across the north and they were slowly fading into the hills.
As he walked across the boggy ground in his high boots, he sensed something behind him. In a flash, he turned, raising his spear and drawing his sword..."

Arthedain Hunter with puppyI'm not that tall or slender for an elf, but not short and stout enough for a dwarf, just human I think I have a goatee around the mouth, my straight brown hair ( some white strains above the brow) is extraordinary long at the moment, down to the hip. I like arts and nature, animals are dear to me, especially I like dogs. So I like to suggest a hunter out of Bree or another city in Arthedain clad in ranger garb with boots, armed with bow and a knife and playing with his hunting hound puppy (ca. the size of a cat) Note: The small animal is connected to the miniatures right arm for easy sculpting. We have some nice Mithril dogs, but there is no puppy so far My drawing is a idea how it could look like, no must-be design. Ranger also can be holding the puppy on his arm or the puppy sits beside his master. The two photos show myself dressed as a Ranger (the photos are taken from inside through a window) Happy suggesting and voting!

My hair is only a couple of inches shorter than yours, but - alas - thinning tragically fast! (I think it's the fumes from the stuff I brew here at the Pony...)

After a very nice message from Master Halbarad II I'm posting a picture for Michael and The Man (Chris) so they can see that I really am a hobbit. My wife makes me wear shoes when we go outside the Shire My suggestion if approved by Chris would be as I stated in my earlier post: a hobbit artisan painting or assembling some small figure or toy.

Dunno what a rocker is – is he dealing with pieces of stone? They're a dying breed, Master Halbarad, left over from an earlier age of Man. They banged rocks together to create what they believed was the best kind of mucic. This was known (unsurprisingly) as rock music.

A common guardsman of Laketown Similar to M133 but with bow or sword. Perhaps a member of Bard's company prior to the arrival of Smaug.

Michael, Thank you for talking to Chris and I thank Chris himself for allowing my hobbit suggestion to go forward. I must say I am very excited about this month's voting! I would be thrilled and honored to be sculpted by The Man himself. It's not everyday that I get to see my actual size represented in such a way as this. That's just pretty cool! Hopefully even if my idea doesn't win this month there will be others in the not too distant future.
