Great work everyone. Chris was very impressed with all the new ideas and he would love to make them all if he could. However, much like Highlander, there can only be one, but which one? Well you have a choice and in the 1st round the top two or three will go forwards into the final round next Monday. Its that simple. Its a blind poll so you only see the current status after you submit your vote. Don't forget to comment, you can sway undecided voters to your side.
Sadly two ideas did not make it. Galadriel in the Swan boat was simply too complex to fit this month's generous requirements. It seems you would need that to be a box set, like the White Council to do it justice. The other Lorien boat was another that was not accepted, as it was too complex for this month.

The Death of Saruman Saruman (Sharkey) and Wormtongue. I imagine this vignette would be with Wormtongue standing behind Saruman with his knife flashing in his right hand about to slash Saruman's throat. Saruman, wearing bedraggled robes/clothing is raising his left hand holding a cane not his wizard's staff. Wormtongue has to look slightly insane and is wearing rags for clothing. The base would be a road with the suggestion of a stone work fence. Maybe have a sort of traveling bag laying on the road next to Wormtongue.

That would indeed be great! ! Problem is that the other 2 boats contain either Strider, Frodo and Sam or Boromir, Merry and Pippin as you know. That is 3 figures and accessoires plus the boat ... There had been an attempt to do so already in November 2017 by our dear fellow mindx2. There was stated: ... Chris has excluded the boat suggestion with three figures as its too big ... Read more: mithrilfigures.proboards.com/thread/1563/november-2017-round-vote-closed?page=1#ixzz5HCJLVqu2Anyone can try to suggest, but I think it can be disappointing if it will be rejected again. Sorry for the plea.

Nár next to the body of ThrórNár was an old Dwarf, the sole companion of King Thrór when he set out to wander in the wilds of Middle-earth. Virtually nothing is known of Nár. However what is known is that he set out with the King of Durin’s folk from Dunland, where the Thrór's following of relatives and subjects were living at the time to find his fortunes in wider world. Their journey eventually brought them to the old dwarf-halls of Moria, now infested with Orcs and Trolls. Disregarding the pleas of Nár, Thrór insisted on entering Khazad-dûm while Nár stayed behind and waited for the king not far from the gate. That was the last any Dwarf ever saw of Thrór alive. He was beheaded by the Orcs, and their chieftain Azog branded his own name on Thrór's brow. The Orcs allowed Nár to live so he could return to Thrór's son Thráin II, with a message that Azog now ruled in Moria, and that Dwarves best stay away lest they suffer the same fate. Nár returned to Dunland where his message caused such anger amongst his people that it raised a call to arms among all seven Dwarf Houses to avenge the elder high-king of their race, leading the War of the Dwarves and Orcs. In the climactic Battle of Azanulbizar, Azog himself was slain along with thousands of others on both sides. The Lord of the Rings, Appendix A, "Durin's Folk"This scene could be complemented with the MZ649 "Azog holding the head or Thrór". Why of course I will try again
Boat of Lothlorien w/ Boromir, Merry & Pippin
"There are some among you who can handle boats: Legolas, whose folk know the swift Forest River; and Boromir of Gondor; and Aragorn the traveller.'
`And one Hobbit! ' cried Merry. `Not all of us look on boats as wild horses. My people live by the banks of the Brandywine.'"
"The Company was arranged in this way: Aragorn, Frodo, and Sam were in one boat; Boromir, Merry, and Pippin in another; and in the third were Legolas and Gimli, who had now become fast friends. In this last boat most of the goods and packs were stowed. The boats were moved and steered with short-handled paddles that had broad leaf-shaped blades."(LOTR, Book II, Ch. 8, Farewell to Lorien)
I see the strong figure of Bomomir with paddle in both hands steering the elegant Lorien boat, Pippin in the middle looking around and a confident Merry at the front helping guide the boat down the Great River.

Gandalf should have his pipe in one hand and holding the reins in the other. This raises an important point. As well as the two figures (in this instance Gandalf and his pony) are we also allowed to have equipment (i.e. furniture, a throne, a ladder, or come to that something as sizeable as a wagon, as here)? I hope so, but I'm guessing this might not be permitted, so guidelines would be helpful.

Two half-orcs and scaling ladder
Well, lots of people are making suggestions that include sizeable chunks of scenery/furniture, so, since Michael hasn't come back with an answer to my query, I shall suggest two Isengard half-orcs carrying a scaling ladder to ascend (or even ascending) the walls of Helm's Deep.

I love these double months... they do bring out ideas that are stuffed too often.
Imrahil and Eowyn "And he held the bright-burnished vambrace that was upon his arm before her cold lips, and behold! a little mist was leid on it hardly to be seen"
Either the pose where be holds his vambrace before her face - or if that looks weired, the moment where he realizes that there is mist upon it, with his face lightening up.

Sauron presenting The Witch-King of Angmar with one of the Nine Rings of Power Well, my last suggestion of one of the Nine receiving his ring didn't get far so lets take it a step further...… I envisage Sauron (similar design as the previous version? to keep things uncomplicated ) giving the Witch-King of Angmar one of the nine rings - I'd be more than happy if Khamul the Easterling was depicted instead of The Witch-King as he is actually named, and I'm not sure if the WK of A was known as that before or after he became a Ringwraith. I don't know how this would be depicted - would Sauron have passed it from hand to hand, or left it on a podium or similar for it to be picked up so he didn't have to have physical contact with the receiver of the ring (obviously a podium would complicate the 'double' figure restriction). Just a thought

In that case, I shall add my suggestion for this month :
Mounted Dunlending Chieftain
What the Dunlendings still need, is a mounted Chieftain to lead them to Rohan or to Cardolan, in order to come to the aid in the war against Angmar (or to support Angmar, choice is yours)! So please don't give him a white hand mark, as it would limit its use.
As usual with chiefs, he has more money to spend for his equipment and so he may have more goodlooking furniture than the common Dunlending warriors (chainmail, coat, helmet...)
I know : very long time ago a mounted Dunlending chieftain has ever been made as part of the unreleased Warband set ‘Half-orcs of Saruman’ but 1. It has never been officially released, so it doesn’t really exist in the official Mithril range, and 2. Only a few happy collectors have been so lucky to obtain one of the few samples that have been cast. I think other collectors (like me) also should have the opportunity to get such a figure in their armies. Thanks to all who wants to support this idea.

I agree with Barli and the others, there are many excellent suggestions. This just goes to show how backed up we are for un-produced excellent ideas that are two figures or mounted. I hope with improvments in the new casting process Mithril and Chris will be able to offer more months like this and even restart the old M series of figures. I believe they will.

Just a suggestion: Swapping - for a while - from one per month as standard to a double per two months might help to create more of these ideas - many of whom amount to small mini-vignettes that manage to capture more of the story then just two individual minis can.
