"Thanks once again for your suggestions. As ever and somewhat reluctantly I have excluded some for reasons of size, like the Watcher and the Grond vignette. The white council is a very attractive idea but would contain many parts if we included a table and chairs and should more properly be made as a boxed set. I have also excluded the suggestions for the Dol Amroth command group as this is already scheduled as a regular Mithril release. Old man willow has been on our list for years but I think that the tree trunk alone would not do justice to the scene. He is a living entity and I think the whole tree would need to be included. However even with these exclusions we are still spoiled for choice with the remaining suggestions. I particularly liked Gollum's dance, Bilbo on the barrel and the Trumpeting Ent." Chris Tubb.
I think all our fans will be satisfied at the list of 19 options to vote for. Remember one vote per member. You can add your personal comment why you voted for that option as well. Vote ends Feb 2nd. Remember to vote with your head as well as your heart, if you see two popular suggestions going for a tie, there is little point in voting on a suggestion that has little or no support as it is not likely to win. Vote wisely and make your vote count. Remember you can always resubmit an idea another month to try again. Next month is for single figure suggestions ONLY. We will start taking suggestions on the 3rd of February.

Thank you, Chris for the explanation of sorting out the suggestions. You cannot imagine what it means to me to read that my suggestion was thought of as a regular M-release. How could I know? As some of us members are very much interested to have some more ... well, "armies"(*sorry*, David what could be a better word? - I last used the word "set" ... of course it also could be named "box" ... I don't know) I am really curious about the next releases of the regular M - series. Thank you Michael for keeping all of us informed.

These selections were all excellent and a hard choice.

Chris and Michael,
Thanks for your explanations regarding the Watcher. I would rather see it as a boxed set some day. I believe that would do the scene better justice than a vignette. Although a vignette would be better than nothing, which is why I nominated it. But I have been collecting Mithril's for fifteen years and certainly can wait awhile longer for the Watcher to be produced in a manner you feel would best depict the scene.
In the meantime, I really appreciate that you've allowed us collectors to have a say in what gets produced!

Seeing that Queen Beruthiel is being so well recieved I think I will vote for the Vorondil/Kine suggestion. I like thiese peripheral characthers a lot. Seeing these made as miniatures helps to "flesh out" Middle Earth.

Oh yesss,
good suggestionss, very good . . . gollum!
I´m surprised again: would I`ve to make a ranking off it, it would be total different! Oh, by the way, my own suggestion would be one - perhaps - in one of the middle places. Thank to the forefathers that I was risen and educated to be polite and tolerant. But: is there anybody remembering that Bilbo was made 5 times before? F i v e times!? I like Bilbo, too. Perfect Hobbit-guy, beneath Samwise. But there are some others which were never crafted before. Mind this, would you?
I´ll try to vote tactical. But somtetimes my heart gives a push to support a hopeless thing. My own one is chanceless. Rohirrim and Northmen I like a lot. Dwarfs and Elves, too. So I will watch and see.

The ent trumpeting is tempting. Perhaps an evergreen ent...
Still, I'll hold off voting for a while.

All I'll say is may this fellowship last long enough for pretty much all of the suggestions on that list to be made

I have to agree with bombadil1963, Bilbo has been done a bunch before - I would rather see something a bit different. Apart from my own suggestion (Boromir's funeral boat), I also like gollum's dance and especially Theodred!

I second Axe99's sentiments!
Michael, are only specific suggestions considered for a given month, or do you and Chris chose to include some (on your own, or from previous nominations which were not repeated in the current month)?
Thanks, twrich (buhman)

I second Axe99's sentiments! Michael, are only specific suggestions considered for a given month, or do you and Chris chose to include some (on your own, or from previous nominations which were not repeated in the current month)? Thanks, twrich (buhman) Chris is responsible for chooseing the suggestions as he must sculpt them. he is also more familier with our license restrictions. We try to make as wide a selection as possible (we have 19 this month). Huge sets like the Watcher would simply cost too much, (would you be prepared to spend hundreds on a box set, I know a few would, but not the majority of the fellowship). Chris also takes fierce pride in his work (as you can see from the skill and effort he invests into every piece) and does not want to cheapen a release by doing a version that does not do the scene juctice (like Old man Williow and the Hobbits). Suggestions that contain large quantities of figures is also difficult, remember Chris is working on other projects too. He cannot make a sudden platoon of armoured orcs overnight for example. We are sorry if some suggestions are left out of a month but such suggestions do not fall on deaf ears, We will consider them for general releases if possible.

Hello Michael,
well a platoon of Orcs? Was that a top secret you told us? Overnight would be fine and lots of them better. ;D
I hope, that Chris will take some of the fellowship suggestions and realize them as M- range products.
Battle of Mirkwood was a fantastic idea! Lossarnach soldiers- long did I wait for them. It would be nice, if you would do much more of the Gondorian provincial levies.
AND: Please please make some new Tengwars with such great articles in it as in the five issues available.
That's it.

Well, Michael, perhaps you read too much into my question (or perhaps I read too much into your response). I fully accept Chris's explanation for why certain nominations aren't selected (see my Jan 26 post). And I see in the OCT Vote Closed thread where Chris says he intends to make some of these at some point, but that they are too complex for a Fellowship selection. I wish I'd have read his words before I made my nomination, I'd have suggested something else. Please don't take my questions as agitation or a complaint! As far as Chris's quality of work is concerned, that is a given, and what keeps your customers coming back for more!
Best Regards, twrich

Mae govannen, Vote for Elves, Vote for Rumil, Orophin and Haldir! Let be the forest realm of Lorien made a safe haven! I find it always hard to vote, because almost all of the possible minis would be fine to put into the own collection. But still: PLEASE VOTE FOR ELVES! Bye ESTEL

I have to say that I have to support estel's appeal and vote for Elves. Of course I also do like the Elven figures very much, but what convinced me more to support him was that he put into words what I also thought of for a long time: What about more Tengwars? I know it's not the right thread here, sorry Michael, but I just wanted to keep the idea (question) in mind immediately So, this helped me at last to make a decision this time, as I thought of not voting because the choice was a hard one. Of course I will be satisfied with the release of any of the other suggestions as well.

How did it happen that theodred became hardly wounded ? The answer laid outside at the fjords. A great story at the edges of LotR. Becuase it is a favorite theme of mine and because I like the horselords and would like to see more rohirrim nobles I vote for Theodred.
Good Luck.

I stand by the side of elfhelm and voted for Theodred Theodenson. You know . . . my stupid heart! The tactical thoughts vanished in a second! I remembered one of the best scenes in Jackson´s TTT: It was that one when Eowyn weeped at the bed of her brave cousin and Grima tried to convice her to follow him! Fantastic acting by both actors. For the love of Eowyn Theodred should have a chance in this voting! Although I think it´s too late this time. Keep it in mind for next time, please.
But I watch the Elven-guards Haldir, Orophin and Rumil become strong in their realm of Mallorn trees. So I beg for help and support to enrich our collections with new and former unreleased figures! Vote the Elves!

Vote for bilbo, it will be a unique piece marking a pivotal point in the hobbit. It will look great with the raft elves (m134) in a diorama or scene. Little bilbo clinging on for dear life. The vote isn't certain so vote for bilbo to secure his victory.
