VOTING STARTS ON THE 11th. Welcome to another exciting chance to add your ideas and dreams to Mithril's LOTR miniatures. Post your suggestions here. ONE per member. This is an 'open' month, where we will consider vignettes as well as single or mounted figures. There was a lot of support recently for Eorl and the Lossoth Hunter, so if you wish to add his name in again, please do so and keep the interest alive and kicking. Please add some quotes about where it is mentioned or give descriptions to promote your suggestion. If you drum up support NOW, the you have a much better chance when it is time to vote. This suggestion board stops taking new ideas at 16.30 GMT on the 10th.Voting will begin on the 11th of August (first round) in the afternoon (GMT). I cannot give an exact time. I have to get the vote list from Chris and sometimes delays happen. Second round voting will commence on the 22nd. This will last until the 29th of August. All votes will end at 16.30 GMT or BST (british standard time). The reason for the vote being earlier than normal is that I will be on holidays and will not be able to access the forum during the middle of the month. You may add comments about other members suggestions as well. If you post any suggestions elsewhere it may not be seen or credited. Please post any suggestions in English. If you have any questions then post in the other thread provided for such questions. GO TO GALLERY PAGE: www.mithril.ie/Fellowship/gallery.html

OK, everyone, I shall be looking for the sympathy vote this month, because I'm putting up Eorl on Felarof AGAIN. I know in the vignette months everyone likes to put up the most amazing, imaginative, impractical, and potentially expensive suggestions they can think of, but consider this - I have it on good authority (well, Bob in the stable, if he counts as a good authority) that if Eorl doesn't win this month there's every chance he's going to get Felarof put down...
And why not, you may say, if he can be outrun by a woman on the home straight?

Hi folks,
as I would like to see this one realized and my Elves had not such a great chance (too many men in that forum, no elves no dwarves), I suggest my royal one again:
As loving the Dunedain and the Gondorians of Mithril I would suggest Earnur, the last (33th) and most ambitious of the Kings of Gondor. As Chris' mounted figures are always looking great, I would suggest him (Earnur and not Chris!!) on a horse, in Gondorian fine armour, with nice ornately edged cloak, a fine sword at his side, holding a spear and a very nice royal shield, also more elaborated. I suggest he has longer hair than normal humans, NO HELMET ( maybe because he likes to see his enemies and does not like this hindering protection), his hair is flowing in the wind.
He should not look too much like Theoden, but maybe with a rearing horse, attacking the witch King.
The best thing of it: After Earnur is made a new witch king mini could be made, more warlike, which you can put in front of the charging Earnur (maybe his horse is dreaded and not attacking?? )
Just a quote: I think Earnur should not look like the typical too hard mailed knight as the Gondorians of the 3rd age in the movies nor like the Last Alliance heroes of the Mithril range. I think he should look royal but still a little bit wild and fighting.
So that's it!
I hope to see one day mounted Rangers of the North as Halbarad is one of my favorites.
VOTE FOR THJE DUNEDAIN
It is the Age of men, but of true men? (as Castamir said).
Regards Estel

I have a suggestion myself this month and that is 'Embassy at the Black Gate' (please see sketch at the gallery link on Michael's post). I imagine a three figure set with the Mouth of Sauron, an escort holding the Mithril shirt and Aragorn, or most probably Gandalf to complete the scene. "This vignette 'Embassy at the Black Gate', depicts the Mouth of Sauron as he reveals Frodo's Mithril shirt (held up by one of his escort) to either Gandalf or Aragorn (not pictured). My main focal point to emphasise on this one would be the figure of the MOS and the escort holding up the shirt as the focal point - the MOS's outstretched arm gesturing toward the escort with Gandalf/Aragorn looking at it." I have also added a sketch of my concept of the Lossoth, perhaps some one would like to champion that one - all along the idea of the Lossoth has grown on me, but I do feel that he needed a little extra to make it a bit more special. I didn't submit the drawing before as Lossie was already in the draw. Failing that, Eorl, I hate to see a good horse shot!

Dear Fellowship members, I think now the time for the Lossoth hunter has come, a miniature suggested and described several times. Vote for it! Yours, Alex

Well, I reckon I'm going to keep voting for Eorl this month - I have a soft spot for all creatures, and it'd be a shame to see Felarof sent off to the glue factory! However, I might also throw a suggestion into the mix, and see how it goes - an Arthadan Ranger of the mid-third age at around the time of the fall of the last northern kingdom - the pose wouldn't be a fighting one, but rather a 'walking' pose. The ranger would be wearing a chain shirt under a heavy cloak, carrying a sword with a shield (seven-starred) strung across their back. The cloak and chain would be damaged, and the character's pose would imply some kind of injury sustained in the conflict against Angmar. Vote early, vote often

I suggest a vignette that hopefully combines several excellent suggestions from the past: a Lossoth Hunter Chieftain standing on a snowy base facing Arvedui, the Last King of Arthedain.
The Lossoth Chieftain would be shorter than the King, but stockier. He would be clad in furs and leathers. His hooded fur cloak would be constrained by a wide belt with several pouches and a ceremonial long-knife tucked between belt and cloak. His hood would be tossed back, revealing long thick hair and generous but groomed facial hair. A polar-bear tooth neck-chain would peek from under his furs and hair.
Arvedui, the Last King would be a stately Dunedain, with long flowing robes and ernest facial features. A scabbard with sword would protrude from the left side of the King's outer cloak. His right hand would cradle a round object, against his side and partially hidden from view by his cloak on that side of his body--yes, it is a palantir ( one of the two lost in the Ice Bay of Forochel)!
This Vignette would satisfy the need to represent the Lossoth, and depict one of the major scenes in the History of the Dunedain. Indeed, Arvedui is the Last King of the North before King Aragorn (Strider) united the two Kingdoms.
Vote Lossoth, Palantir, and Dunedain this time!

At first I want to thank all supporters for Gilraen. I think most of the members will be happy one day to have Aragorn´s mother in their possession. And I´m sure it will be a wonderful miniature. This month, I promised to Barliman, I´ll support Eorl on Felarof and won´t bring in any own suggestion as I´m very satisfied with last month´s result. And I love the Eorlingas as well. In the next months will be time enough for dwarves and elves again, Estel! And I hope we´ll have some more figurines of this short, stout race! I was a miner when I was a young guy and so feeling soul-related to Aule´s children!

A little tweaking was necessary, but... ;D
Tamer of Felarof, mearas sire, From out of the North, blazing like fire, To the Celebrant Field, he led the Eotheod like a flood, Enemy slaughter and panic, they spilled much orc blood. The reward for their succour, as it had come unplanned, An alliance with Gondor and a fine green land. Through many long years, songs will be sung, For in August chosen, 'twas Eorl the Young.
Cheers, Wendy

As August is an "open" month, I suggest a vignette : Anarion in armor kneeling in the front of the sappling of the White Tree (small), praying over victory and strenght of elves during the War of the Jewels before going to war of the 2nd Age's end.
If this idea is the winner of the month, I let Chris' imagination ending the picture.

I'd like to resubmit my idea of the "Crowning of King Elessar" by Gandalf as a vignette, but I may vote myself for Eorl in the end

OK, no Bombur this time. However, here we go with my suggestion:
The meeting of Aragorn and Eomer in the battle on the Pelennor fields
"And so at length Eomer and Aragorn meet in the midst of the battle, and tehy leaned on their swords and looked on one another and were glad. ... '... and never was a meeting of friends more joyful.' And they clasped hand in hand. 'Nor indeed more timely'
The moment were both, battleworn but victorious, clasp hand, that the vignette should be captured.
I also suggest that Eorl gets an official M release if he fails to win again this month.

My suggestion this month is: The Friendship of Legolas and Gimli in the Glittering Caves of Aglarond
...Strange are the ways of men, Legolas! Here they have one of the marvels of the northern World, and what do they say of it? Caves, they say! Caves! Holes to fly to in time of war, to store fodder in! My good Legolas, do you know that the caverns of Helm’s Deep are vast and beautiful?...
...Immeasurable halls, filled with an everlasting music of water that tinkles into pools, as fair as Kheled-zâram in the starlight. And Legolas, when the torches are kindled and men walk on the sandy floor under echoing domes, ah! then, Legolas, gems and crystals and veins of precious ore glint in the polished walls, and the light glows though folded marbles, shell-like, translucent as the living hands of Queen Galadriel. There are columns of white and saffron and dawn-rose, Legolas, fluted and twisted into dreamlike forms, they spring up from many coloured floors to meet the glistening pendants of the roof; wings, ropes, curtains fine as frozen clouds, spears, banners, pinnacles of suspended palaces! Still lakes mirror them: a gleaming world looks up from dark pools covered with clear glass...
...You move me, Gimli! said Legolas, ‘I have never heard you speak like this before, almost you make me regret that I have not seen these caves. Come! Let us make a bargain – if we both return safe out of perils that await us, we will journey for a while together. You shall visit Fangorn with me, and then I will come with you to see Helm’s Deep.
That would not be the way of return that I should choose, said Gimli, ‘But I will endure Fangorn, if I have your promise to come back to the caves and share their wonder with me’ You have my promise’ said Legolas...
There are only four Legolas and three Gimli figures yet – What about a gold fellowship number showing the wondrous friendship of dwarves and elves? I imagine a vignette with Gimli and Legolas standing side by side on a piece of Cavern floor, both with some travelling gear and one or both with a torch in one hand - gazing astonished at some parts of cavern, (perhaps like the base of ‘Vengeance of Smaug’ but not as big and heavy) with some twisted stalagmites (about 2 inches high at most) and some part of dreamlike folded formation of limestone and small geodes of crystals, perhaps a small basin of water in the ground.
This could be the centerpiece of a fantastic cavern diorama or would be in any case wonderful to be painted... I would love to see Chris sculpting something like that.
I will see if I can send a sketch to Michael... Cheers!
PS: If the suggestion doesn't gets much favour I will keep supporting Eorl!

Our suggestion for this month is King Elessar visiting the Shire. There could be Elessar with his Crown handing out the Star of Dunedain to Sam while Arwen is kneeled and talking with Elanor maybe holding her hand. Description of the scene would be more detailed if I had lotr in english. All names and places are in different in finnish version. maybe someone could help...
