Welcome again to the 2nd round, where you make the final decision on whose idea wins this all important vote. Remember that the winning idea will be produced, so vote carefully.
The 3 suggestions that made it through had the highest votes in the last round. This vote is NOT blind so you will see how the vote is progressing even before you cast your support behind one of the finalists.
For me it´s King Brand and I`ve got the same reasons for my suggestion and my votes like Barli: he is a named character with it´s origin in Tolkien´s books! And I do hope for more Northern people in the M-series, too, like Erchamion: People from Esgaroth, Dale, Rhudaur, Cardolan, Arthedain, the Grey Havens, the Lossoth .
Like to see a royal figure of the Northmen, like the Hillmen a never relased folk of Middle Earth and a named character. And I love how Chris reflects the differences of the mannish races with his designs- great respect for this!!
Sorry for the Orc captain, but the Salute figure is such a thing.
Sorry for the shield maiden, only Eowyn to me could be a fighting girl in Middle Earth of the 3rd Age. Seems to me, that Tolkien liked the god-like female characters but no warrior-women. May be discussed like the form of Sauron
Brand for me - the orc on warg would be more attractive but to soon after the Salute figure, and I like my Mithril ladies to look feminine (sorry Eowyn, I'm sure you are a georgeous lady under all that mail ).
I think it would also be nice to see a swing back to the Northern Lands as well.
I assembled that goblin on its warg some weeks ago (a wonderful miniature, by the way) ... this suggestion of an orc king on a warg is too close to that idea, methinks. Sorry, that's why I cannot support that suggestion.
I cant decide. I d like to see both, a charging shield-maiden and king brand in dwarflike armor and large (wall)shield. are there no illustrations or drawings you could refer to, to ease my desicion. what about a scetch or rough from you david?
No, sorry, it´s clearly in my mind. And I am poorly abled to sketch a little bit but I don´t have a scanner . . . I would prefer a mail-shirt and boots like Gloin or Balin of the "Thorin and Dain" series. The helmet could be a mixture of Balin´s helmet and that of the Adventurer of Laketown as same as the form of the shield: dwarven made but men designed! The shield could be that broader looking "normannic" Esgaroth-shield! The dragon on it should be recognized as a "falling", dying dragon for Brand is the heir of Bard! Perhaps there could be a bell on it, too? I hope, I do remember right that the bells of Dale were ringing when it was destroyed by Smaug!
Brand is, indeed, an intriguing choice. I'd like to see him in a diorama piece, actually, at some point.
The shield maiden, on the other hand, would be a rather versatile figure. A wargaming Eowyn, a MERP figure (inspired by the Leowyn character in the 2nd Ed corebook), an idealised collector's piece, or even a diorama figure to go with Frumgar or Eorl.
king Brand, orc on warg and Rohan shield : 3 good ideas, we want the 3 realisations of course !! we can't say "no" to a king, we can say "again & again" to an orc, and shield maiden of the Horse Lord give more historical informations in the collection, like than the Gondor. I want the 3 !! At first : "Toc toc toc, .... le roi"
