Welcome to another exciting chance to add your ideas and dreams to Mithril's LOTR miniatures. Post your suggestions here. ONE per member. This is a single figure month, NO Mounted options will apply. Examples of past single figures include the King of the Dead and the Lossoth hunter. The only other restriction is that the figures MUST conform to our license, so NO Silmarillion based characters are allowed. They have to be in the Hobbit or LOTR books. The final say is ours and no arguement will be allowed. Ask if you are worried about its eligiability. Please submit ideas in the following format ONLY: IDEA TITLE "this is why I think 'Idea Title' is a good idea for this month..." Make the title stand out (within reason) and separate from any supportive text by a paragragh. This will prevent Chris accidently overlooking it when he compiles the voting list later on. Otherwise it could be mistaken as a comment not a new suggestion. Please add some quotes about where it is mentioned or give descriptions to promote your suggestion. Even add a picture or submit it to me to add to the gallery page. If you drum up support NOW, the you have a much better chance when it is time to vote. Voting will begin on the 15th of October (first round). We stop taking suggestions at 16.00 GMT on the 14th. You may add comments about other members suggestions as well. If you post any suggestions elsewhere it may not be seen or credited. Please post any suggestions in English. (That is all I can respond in, sorry). If you have any questions then post in the other thread provided for such questions. GO TO GALLERY PAGE: www.mithril.ie/Fellowship/gallery.html

HURIN THE TALL Warden of the Keys
My suggestion is the same as last month. Hurin is a named LOTR character who has yet to be represented in the Mithril range - and in fact the only named Gondorian government official in the entire book other than the family of Denethor. Ideally we should have mounted model of him as he was at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, but as this is yet another single-figure month he could be represented instead on foot, as when he accompanied Faramir to meet Aragorn outside Minas Tirith at the coming of the king (ROTK p.245). I envisage him in mail and surcoat with a huge bunch of keys hanging at his belt and a sword at his side, and with his helmet tucked in the crook of his arm. (Would this have been one of the citadel winged types, I wonder?) And of course, he should be tall!

SHADOWFAX REARINGI imagine Shadowfax as a wild stallion, standing on its rear legs, fore legs high in the air. I added an attachment, to show what I would like to see. Shadowfax is called "the greatest horse of Rohan" and was extremely strong and swift. It could run for twelve hours and could outrun the Nazgul steeds. Yet, there still is no Mthril Miniature made of it. Besides, Mr Tubb can show us how good he is at sculpting horses! I know it is a horse, but as this is an unmounted model, I think it still counts as a "no mounted option". Attachments:

mmhh due to the amount of metal used for horse compared to single "humanoid" I don't think alas that it'll be accepted though I really like the idea

If I remember correctly, the Mearas was accepted, too. The limiting factor is Chris sculpting time, not the metal, and if he can deliver a horse in the same time as a character, I am fine with the additional € we have to pay for the metal...

Once again, I nominate
[glow=red,2,300]Hirgon, Bearer of the Red Arrow [/glow](first submitted by estel, I believe).
As this is a single figure month, I envision him on one knee, bent forward with head down to hold forth the arrow with both hands, as to Theoden. He would be wearing a riding cloak and ragged leathers after a long journey, with sword sheathed at his belt.

Brego - The second King of Rohan with small table and chart, ruler, feather on it...
Brego built the Golden Hall of Meduseld, and made Edoras the capital of Rohan... so we could imagine that on this chart are construction details.... it could be glorious vision of the future Rohan town...

Rumil - Haldir's Brother Like the Trolls, if we can't get Mr and Mrs Haldir's sons as a vignette perhaps we can get 'em one by one as long as we're not over Elfing it! Apols if Rumil has been suggested before

Eowyn in the Golden Hallhoping that she will not vanish again without explanation before the voting even starts... I rang Chris about the issue and he gave me a simple explanation. "I overlooked it accidentily, which is a pity as its the kind of figure I would love to do, ladies in civilian clothes"He will contact you about it personally he told me.

TOM BOMBADIL with the ONE RING
From Lord of the Rings Book 1 "In the House of Tom Bombadil":
Tom Bombadil took the 4 Hobbits to his house after the rescue from old man willow While the talking by the fireside there was this breathtaking key scene when Tom Bombadíl asked Frodo to show him the One Ring, got it from the Hobbit held it before his eye, put it on his finger and DID NOT become invisible... Then he flung the Ring into the air, and the Ring vanished in a flash...
He is.
As Frodo got the Ring back, he was suspicious and put on the Ring to try, and the Hobbit became invisible... wasn't seen by his Hobbit fellows but he was seen by Tom Bombadil even so!...
I imagine Tom as single miniature standing with the Precious between his fingers holding it in front of his bright blue eye (paint job) or even on his little Finger, He should not be to slender, the fellowship miniature MS297 of Tom with the badgers is superb.
Cheers, Hwolf

Contact established. Thanks :-)
I was just curious why she was left out. A simple oversight is a vice that I can understand only too well, and I certainly need a good degree of my part in it.
I am fine with Haldir, and lets see what happens this month (or next, or the one after...)
PS: I hoped that she was left out because you scheduled her for a regular M release. Alas, no such luck.

SAURON THE NECROMANCER I like this idea because, in my limited experience, it appears there is only one Sauron figure - and that is the Last Alliance figure (about to lose his finger!). (What is it with people losing their fingers in LOTR?) I like the idea of the Necromancer in Dol Goldur. He would still be large, imposing and sinister. His face would be cloaked/veiled. Instead of heavy armour, perhaps he would have regal trappings and clothing. Maybe a lovely staff or wand. OK, this is my first suggestion - so don't be too mean to me!

the problem is, that Chris often mentionned in the past that he did not want to sculpt a Sauron in the Third Age as there is absolutly no indication of how he should look like, providing he has a humanoid form at all... Annatar and during the Last Alliance were "before" the loss of the Ring so that's fine... but I don't know if Chris will change his mind about a necromancer kind of Sauron...

Lots of intersting suggestions here. The Necromancer would be a nice figure to have, but I am not sure, how he should look like. Did the Necromancer really exist or was it just a spirit or more just a thing, which did not really exist, only a name to disguise, that Sauron took form again? I like this thoughts, but that would mena, that no Sauron- figure could be made...

As there are lots of new ideas, I will also try something new and special (no Earnur, Lafdug or Rumil- suggestion this time):
[glow=red,2,300]Bats of Middle-Earth![/glow]
It would be up to Chris to decide how to realize this idea- a swarm or a single bat, if a giant creature or a small one like Morlas the black squirrel.....
Bats are mentioned to be part of the dark side, especially being "companions" of the Orcs (e.g. in "the Hobbit").

"SAURON THE NECROMANCER" is a fine suggestion. However, I think the others might be right. I suggested Sauron in giant wolf form a while back, but it was not accepted. Sauron's ability to take physical form in the later ages is questionable. I say he was a shape-shifter until the bitter end and possessed the ability to transform into wolf, bat, or humanoid form at will. Unfortunately, survey said, "Nope." Of course, opinions do change sometimes, so more power to you. Besides, you have nothing to lose by suggesting it, and it's a good idea to boot!

I don't have much time to think about it, so I suggest:
Halbarad in battle carrying the standard of Aragorn unfurled
(Can you tell that Halbarad is one of my favorites? ;D)
