Welcome to another exciting chance to add your ideas and dreams to Mithril's LOTR miniatures. Post your suggestions here. ONE per member. This month's ideas is for single figures only, so no mounted miniatures or furniture please. The only other restriction is that the figures MUST conform to our license, so NO Silmarillion based characters are allowed. They have to be in the Hobbit or LOTR books. The final say is ours and no arguement will be allowed. Ask if you are worried about its eligiability. Please submit ideas in the following format ONLY: IDEA TITLE "this is why I think 'Idea Title' is a good idea for this month..." Make the title stand out (within reason) and separate from any supportive text by a paragragh. This will prevent Chris accidently overlooking it when he compiles the voting list later on. Otherwise it could be mistaken as a comment not a new suggestion. Please add some quotes about where it is mentioned or give descriptions to promote your suggestion. Even add a picture or submit it to me to add to the gallery page. If you drum up support NOW, the you have a much better chance when it is time to vote. Voting will begin on the 11th of February (first round). We stop taking suggestions at 16.00 GMT on the 10th. You may add comments about other members suggestions as well. If you post any suggestions elsewhere it may not be seen or credited. Please post any suggestions in English. (That is all I can respond in, sorry). If you have any questions then post in the other thread provided for such questions. GO TO GALLERY PAGE: www.mithril.ie/Fellowship/gallery.html

It would be fine to have Narvi of Moria getting realized, finally. Benedicted stone-mason, creator of Moria´s West Gate, friend to Celebrimbor. He´s worth it.

Eomer at the Pelennor Fields
"Stern now was Eomer's mood, and his mind clear again. He let blow the horns to rally all men to his banner that could come thither; for he thought to make a great shield-wall at the last, and stand, and fight there on foot till all fell, and do deeds of song on the fields of the Pelennor, thought no man should be left in the West to remember the last king of the Mark. So he rode to a green hillock and there set his banner, and the white horse ran rippling in the wind.
Out of doubt, out of dark to the day's rising I came singing in the sun, sword unsheathing. To hope's end I rode and to heart's breaking: Now for wrath, now for ruin and a red nightfall!
These staves he spoke, yet he laughed as he said them. For once more lust of battle was upon him; and he was still unscathed, and he was young and he was king: the lord of a fell people. And lo! ever as he laughed at despair he looked out again at the black ships, and he lifted up his sword to defy them."
Ok, so we have a Fellowship vision of Eomer a little while later, greeting Aragorn. But this figure has elements of LO21. Eomer stands alone, ready to lead his house-warriors to their deaths.
Unlike LO21, this figure might have a cloak, running in the south wind behind him. He is unhelmed, his hair wet with sweat and flickering in the wind.
Perhaps the figure has three right arms - holding the banner of the king, holding a spear and holding the sword in the grim, dark salute.
(Of course, if there's an M-series Eomer coming this year for the next bit of the Helm's Deep release, ignore this suggestion!)

cool! two good ones made it for Dec and Jan and I'M glad that Eowyn in "normal clothes" made it at last ;o)
So instead of my favorite Tom Bombadil with the One Ring (I keep him my mind!) I suggest again the nasty swamp thing creature....:
MEWLIP STRIKING FROM SWAMP
I imagine a new release of one of the most gruesome races of middle-earth: A mewlip from the swamps - maybe sculpted to be mistaken for a slimy, tangled log or rotten bog plant thing... gives me the creeps.... Only it's upper hunchback body is visible, it's lower half in the creepy waters, striking with it's arms streched out with long grappling fingers and a gruesome, horrible expression in the ugly face. Eyes and mouth with awful jaws wide open but not screaming.. . ready for a silent strangling strike.
Poor victim...
see M254 - it's existing mate...
From Encyclopedia of Arda: >>Mewlips: Evil creatures out of Hobbit legend A strange and secretive race, known only from a reference in a poem of the Shire-hobbits. Their identity is mysterious, and indeed they may not exist at all, or they may represent a distant folk-memory of the Hobbits. They were said to be dangerous creatures, dwelling in the dark, and feasting on unwary travellers who sought them out. Though it's uncertain exactly what kind of beings they were, they do seem to have been at least somewhat Man-like in form, and may represent a confused recollection of Orcs or Trolls.
The Mewlips' dwelling place was said to be a dark valley far over the Merlock Mountains, through 'spider-shadows' and a forbidding wood, and beyond the marsh of Tode. Though these geographical names are not otherwise known, they fit well with the long journey from the Shire across the Misty Mountains and through Mirkwood (which had marshland on its eastern fringes). If that assumption is accurate, the Mewlips' valley would have been in the east, probably somewhere in the region between the Rivers Running and Redwater.<<
Nasty, wet cheers, Hwolf

STONE GIANT SPOTTERHistory: Great Giants guarded the High Passes in Rhovanion. Beings of immense size and great strength (perhaps even greater than Trolls). To pass the time of day, these Giants would often toss huge boulders back and forth to one another. Unwary travelers, that happen to be passing by, were encouraged to participate, with typically disastrous results. Of course this would explain why very little is known about them. It was reported that they were in league with the Orcs of the Misty Mountains. This in itself is quite interesting, as I cannot fathom what they might have in common with each other. Perhaps as nonhumans they merely shared the same conviction regarding outsiders. At any rate, the Giants were few in number and most likely did not participate in the War of the Ring. Description: Version #1 Standing tall and straight, the Giant's left hand is cupped over his heavy brow, keeping the rays of the midday sun away from his eyes. With his right hand he points to a group of adventurers in the distance. Then, in a deep, thunderous voice, he yells, “Catch dis rock and ve let you pass! If you don‘t, it will flatten your…YEOOOW!… SON OF A…THAT VAS MY FOOT YOU *&%$#!!!” Version #2 Shifting his weight onto his right foot, the Giant's left arm supports a large boulder, which is resting against his hip. This time his right hand is cupped over his brow. His mouth is open, as he yells, "Oluf, listen to me now! Little people at 6 o'clock! Range 30 meters! Vind blowing South by Southwest! Partially cloudy! 20% chance of rain! Prepare to fire on my command! Oluf, vake up! I swear I throw you against the mountain! You vill stick to it like vet bologna! Oluf!!!"

Statue of a King In the chapter Minas Tirith (RotK) Gandalf and Pippin enter the Great Hall of Denethor ..... "But between the pillars stood a silent company of tall images graven in cold stone. Suddenly Pippin was reminded of the hewn rocks of the Argonath, and awe fell on him as he looked down that avenue of kings long dead...." I envision a figure perhaps 40-45mm tall (not including a plinth, but would hope a plinth was included) of a king of Gondor wearing the crown of the kings of the same design as that above Denethors throne and holding the sceptre of Annuminas in one hand with perhaps a sword in the other. Style wise I suggest a more detailed figure than that depicted in the excellent Alan Lee illustration (a design that appears to be used in the film), in mail/armour or whatever CT should decide. I would imagine a cloak as well. At the suggested scale this would perhaps not be much larger than an average troll figure and could be quite a versatile statue figure for use as scenery or whatever.

I have an unusual one to suggest this month:
THE GREAT PILLAR OF THE HAND AT ISENGARD
- from The Two Towers: "Suddenly a tall pillar loomed up before them. It was black; and set upon it was a great stone, carved and painted in the likeness of a long White Hand. Its finger pointed north."

Well, he was close in the last round, making it to the second vote, so again I will suggest
[glow=red,2,300]DUNHERE, LORD OF HARROWDALE[/glow]
He was one of the few Lords of Rohan to heed the call of King Theoden to arms on behalf of Gondor. He rode with the King's host to the Battle of the Pelennor Fields where he was slain and buried along with all of the other valient men who died there (except King Theoden who after laying in state was returned to Rohan to lay permanently with his forebearers).
I see him in a warriors stance with typical Rohan mail, helm, sword and shield, fighting Orcs and Haradrim on all sides.

not many explanations this time. i would like to suggest:
last stand of [glow=red][glow=red,2,300]ARATHORN, father of Aragorn[/glow][/glow]
He would be a nice addition to MS459 Gilraen and Aragorn fleeing to Imladris and hopefully being a very special miniature! should be weatherbeaten and looking desperatly, being sure, that he will never regain his old kingdom and therefore looking for death in a fight with the mighty mountain troll chieftain.
