Welcome to another exciting chance to add your ideas and dreams to Mithril's LOTR miniatures. Post your suggestions here. ONE per member. This month's ideas is for single figures only, so no Vignettes (more than 2 people or a lot of furniture + two people) or mounted figures please. The only other restriction is that the figures MUST conform to our license, so NO Silmarillion based characters are allowed. They have to be in the Hobbit or LOTR books. The final say is ours and no arguement will be allowed. Ask if you are worried about its eligiability. Please submit ideas in the following format ONLY: IDEA TITLE "this is why I think 'Idea Title' is a good idea for this month..." Make the title stand out (within reason) and separate from any supportive text by a paragragh. This will prevent Chris accidently overlooking it when he compiles the voting list later on. Otherwise it could be mistaken as a comment not a new suggestion. Please add some quotes about where it is mentioned or give descriptions to promote your suggestion. Even add a picture or submit it to me to add to the gallery page. If you drum up support NOW, the you have a much better chance when it is time to vote. Voting will begin on the 15th of July (first round). We stop taking suggestions at 16.00 GMT on the 14th. You may add comments about other members suggestions as well. If you post any suggestions elsewhere it may not be seen or credited. Please post any suggestions in English. (That is all I can respond in, sorry). If you have any questions then post in the other thread provided for such questions. GO TO GALLERY PAGE: www.mithril.ie/Fellowship/gallery.html

A wandering Noldo-elf He maybe a member of that group which met Sam and Frodo in the Shire but he even might be one of nameless others who liked to walk around Middle Earth in the starlight. These are the mightiest children of Illuvatar! In the Third Age they are wearing a big load of sadness, wisdom, feelings of loss, weariness and the heaviness of all these uncounted ages. Still proud, strong and perilous they appear a lot more introvert, secretive and monkish! I think they are worth being realized by Chris! Though my vision is more about two friends walking along together, talking or singing for the praise of Elbereth! But this is a single month again.

Beorn/Beorning shape changer A slightly different take on a character previously represented (in both versions), but Beorn or even a Beorning at the moment of shape changing. I envisage a half man, half bear character – my suggestion would be for the lower half and possibly one arm to be bear-form while the remainder of the body and head and other arm are man-form. I see the character in a running/forward moving pose possibly leaning forward to suggest that the bear will be running on all-fours once the shape change has completed. As ever the final version would be CT’s interpretation, but I would like to see a good ‘ragged’ style to both man and bear parts. This would tie in with Michael’s suggestion of a Hobbit theme, and as a subject matter I don’t think that this has been suggested before

Okay, okay!
I´ll retract my suggestion! ddaines´ idea is too attractive! Wow! Should have be mine! This is real fantasy! I´ll drink one more "Weizen"-beer on your health, David! By the way: do you have it in the "Pony"? I guess I have to visit the tap-room! It´s delicious and tingly in summertime even though it´s from Bavaria . . .

But not quite so satisfying as a certain other result I suspect ;D. If Weizen does to my head what Jaegermeister (spelling) did, then......

Mirkwood Elven Hunter blowing HornOne silvan elf from the hunting party, which brought Thorin's Company to the halls of the Elvenking. the figure could be either a male or a female. He or she has a Bow in his/her left hand, a quiver with Arrows on the back and with the right hand he/she holds up a slender elven horn which he/she is blowing One foot rests on a rock or tree-stump like the elf girl M320 mithril.faerylands.eu/display.php?reference=M320I imagine a figure fitting to the mirkwood elven figures. A cloak or cape whould be nice And this figure could fit in the battle of five armies also! together with the Elvenking and his standard-bearer it will form the command group, my dear collector fellows ;o)

HURIN THE TALL, WARDEN OF THE KEYS
I envisage him in a long tunic, mail armour and cloak, girt with sword and with a symbolic bunch of keys hanging from his belt. His gear should be richly decorated, as befits such an important state officer.

You're quite right of course - I think I was cleaning up the Taproom when he won, and it obviously didn't sink into the old noggin for very long - too much other rubbish in there, such as letters to forget to deliver and so on.
Very well, in that case I'll suggest
BILBO IN HELMET AND MITHRIL ARMOUR
at the Battle of Five Armies. I'm not sure if he's ever been suggested before, and don't have time to check right now (ales to pour, mugs to clear, etc), but he certainly hasn't won. If he has, I'll eat your hat (well, I don't wear one).

Goblin Driver
Description: One of several larger, ugly-looking goblins that captured Bilbo and the dwarves when they sought shelter in a cave in the Misty Mountains. He carries a length of chain equipped with shackles, and a whip hangs from his belt. A large, toothy grin spreads across his face, as he prepares to descend upon his captives with metal bonds.
“Out jumped the goblins, big goblins, great ugly-looking goblins, lots of goblins, before you could say rocks and blocks.”
“The general meaning of the song was only too plain; for now the goblins took out whips and whipped them with a swish, smack!, and set them running as fast as they could in front of them; and more than one of the dwarves were already yammering and bleating like anything, when they stumbled into a big cavern.”
“The goblins chained their hands behind their backs and linked them all together in a line and dragged them to the far end of the cavern with little Bilbo tugging at the end of the row.”

[glow=red,2,300]HIRGON, BEARER OF THE RED ARROW[/glow]
He should be sculpted on one knee, as offering the Red Arrow to King Theoden.
"He was clad as a rider with a cloak of dark green over a coat of fine mail; on the front of his helm was wrought a small silver star. In his hand he bore a single arrow, black-feathered and barbed with steel, but the point was painted red."
"He sank on one knee and presented the arrow to Theoden. 'Hail Lord of the Rohirrim, friend of Gondor!' he said. 'Hirgon I am, errand-rider of Denethor, who brings you this token of war.'"
This is a very important part of the books, as Hirgon's arrival with the Red Arrow convinced King Theoden that Gandalf was right, and if Gondor fell so too would Rohan. At that very meeting Theoden promised that he himself would ride to Gondor with at least six thousand men, and bid Hirgon tell Denethor that he would come to Gondor within a week.
Here is another character who is mentioned by name and plays an important role in the story who Chris hasn't sculpted yet.

Hirgon was suggested last month (mounted) by me… and few years ago exactly like this by Estel… I will vote for him in second round if he pass first draft

This could be great small vignette with those ugly goblin and one or 2 bondage dwarves and Bilbo… but only ugly goblin….

This could be great small vignette with those ugly goblin and one or 2 bondage dwarves and Bilbo… but only ugly goblin…. driver: In this case, one who controls, guides, or directs with motivating force. "Who are these miserable persons?" said the Great Goblin. "Dwarves, and this!" said one of the drivers, pulling at Bilbo's chain so that he fell forward onto his knees.

Wow, that are some quite impressive suggestions already out there.
I contemplated to forward again the unlucky "Erestor at the council", but for the odd reason I just had a look at my collection and got the fancy to get another incarnation of our female Ranger, the M16. Thus I forward
Female Dunadan Ranger playing cards
She should look like M16/464, sitting on a chair or stool (use the existing ones) and look like playing cards. preferably so that one can create a vignette with the two players of M114.

I would like to suggest Northman Lady A healer, or noblewoman, of the Northman, she has long wild tresses, and a homespun, yet ornate dress. She is armed with an almost hidden dagger. She is watching the scene, quietly, dignified yet guarded. A formidable lady; a mistress of a great hall, or one called to adventure. Attachments:
