Well it seems the vote was spread across the whole spectrum of options this month. This of course means that the 2nd round will have a lot of undecided members. I was surprised that some ideas did not receive more interest.
This months winner of the 1st round is the Northman Lady. However she won by one vote.
So I selected the top 3 ideas with the most support.
This is an open vote so you can see the vote progress before casting your vote. One vote per member.

It has to be the goblin driver - but as the Tree has already said, that is indeed a very nice rabbit. Master Hwolf!

The 'Stewed rabbit' takes my fancy today, a few more diners are needed to order it off the menu

Good battle! Most importantly, a few dormant members, along with some new ones, have been heard. Oh, and the Goblin Driver says: "Right! Ten votes is a mere rabble! Twenty gives us...
A STINKIN' WAR PARTY!"

To whomever is pecking away at my karma:
Calm waters encourage stagnation. Periodic turbulence is beneficial. It adds much needed emotion and controversy to the forum. A pity you don’t realize that I post in character only. After all, I am promoting a goblin, not an altar boy.
Thanks.

Thank you kind sirs. Well, that shortens the list of suspects by two (lol). Actually, I think the real culprit is mis-communication. Let’s get back to the VOTE!
What chance does a non-human brute have against a natural beauty? BLAST IT! Even the elf stirs with new life! Eleven votes is a good turnout lads, but we must dig deeper for reinforcements! Open all tunnels and awaken our sleeping kinsman! Fours days left! START DIGGIN’!

Well I'll give you a Karma, cos yer posts add a bit of spice to the forum (when you've not been supping too much of Barlimans scrumpy, that is) and to my mind this is all supposed to be a good natured banter and smiting should be reserved for really naassty orcses ;D. But looking at the new Elven bard, wouldn't an elf blowing a horn compliment it well if so designed The hobbits meeting Gildor spring to my mind (no mention of a horn blowing elf, but they could have done to 'chase' off the Black rider).

It is a fact, that this Lady has got a fine head start. Nevertheless there is still a chance for this elven-hornblower . . . Don´t resign . . . AND VOTE !

Too…much…kindness. Feeling…warm…and…fuzzy inside. Must…snap…out of it!
It seems the Northman Lady is overwhelmed by suitors! Me thinks I missed her in the last swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated.
Here comes the elf! First and fairest, admired by all, the elf is what we strive to become; perfection. That’s what they would have you believe anyway. Hmmm…perhaps without them orcs might have turned out short, bearded and fanged…much too cute. Many thanks!

13 VOTES for the goblin. That’s 26 iron-shod boots stomping and kicking their way to the finish line. Do I hear 40?

My support is (no, not for the Driver) for you Grond, and the FG in general. We should be able to be supportive of our ideas as long as we are respectful in our posts.
I think that sometimes comments are taken too seriously. Common sense and respect for each other should prevail, and usually does.
Well, to the more important point of which figure we are going to vote for, I vote for the Northman Lady. I find it interesting that all second round choices are "non-named" characters. I was hoping for Hirgon (because like many before me, I suggested him this month), but I will not be disappointed by any of these three.

You know, while I selfishly love my suggestion...
The goblin driver has the potential to be awesome. It may not win this month, but it can easily be resuggested - the idea has legs.

I was not very interested in this voting yet. But now I´ll take part. I woke up just before the end of July. Something has happened: Not everybody seems to like every kind of humour, if it is humour. Interesting enough! I really love people of the north but I think we´ve got enough ladies of all kind. And I don´t like goblins! It´s their role, their profession to lose! To fight a hopeless fight, to die and vanish from the face of Middle Earth! They are born victims! A medium-good fighter can kill about 40 in a single battle! Not with guns and grenades! With swords, bows or axes! So, let´s have orcs as M-series! Dozens! Hundreds! Army boxes! That`ll be okay! As an MS it´s a missed opportunity (excepted as a victim in a vignette-month)! This is my opinion. Like it or leave it. The elven hunter has my vote. It´s not that important and not in every month I´ll cast my vote for the litter-box. But sometimes one has to hold the banner high for his conviction, though it´s hopeless.

But sometimes one has to hold the banner high for his conviction, though it´s hopeless. Well said Roland! I truly admire your conviction! Many times I have backed the underdog, despite likely defeat. You never know what might happen in the end, so stick to your guns and never surrender! Besides, you have nothing to lose. Rest assure it is comedy and a little ribbing to encourage participation. No insult intended. English is not everyones' primary language and an occasional mis-communication is to be expected. So, what exactly are goblins? Tolkien stated that Melkor didn’t have the power to create life, only to alter it. If you bob a dog’s tail, feed it raw flesh, and train it to attack on command, in the end you still have a dog. Physical injury and malice are not hereditary. Future generations will have the same intelligence level, potential strengths and weaknesses, and the same life expectancy as their forefathers. Goblins, on the other hand, are physically and mentally different from elves. Their form is described as consistently hideous. They are bent, bow-legged and squat. Their arms are disproportionately long. Their faces are broad and flat. Their blood is black and their beady red eyes see well in the night. Also, and I might be wrong about this, their lifespan is not as great as the original stock. That would imply that goblins are somehow genetically engineered. Melkor’s dungeon may very well have been a laboratory. And that brings us to another question: Why would Melkor take any life form, ruin it, replicate it, and utilize it as soldiery? Wouldn’t it make more sense to capture young elves and condition them to serve his will? Still, goblins are typically the bulldog of choice for most dark lords.

calm down fellows! ;o)
It's only a matter of time for good suggestion to win. The orc driver will come, resuggest him, the elf horn-blower will come, resuggstion is obvious.
I will be pleased with another female character, anyway.

You're right Wolf. No one really loses here. All releases are true masterpieces! And I apologize for going on about goblins. I can't help myself. I can talk about them for hours. Oh, I must make one final point: While goblin armies do tend to sustain heavy casualties, I don't believe it's because they are an inferior race or born victims. Tolkien describes them as fierce warriors that are naturally strong. More likely their combat training is simply inadequate. Thrust into combat as soon as they can pick up a blade, goblins rely more so on savagery and overwhelming numbers to achieve their objective. Now, if a goblin were to receive expert tutelage in the art of swordplay or archery, I'm sure he would be a match for any great elf or stout dwarf. WONDERFUL turnout for the Goblin Driver! I never imagined this kind of support was possible. Perhaps I will re-suggest him. In the mean time, congratulations to the Northman Lady! She's definitely worth it. And thanks to everyone who voted for their favorite idea this month!
