...Officially an incident. Variags are notoriously unscrupolous and they hate orcs: orcs love to eat the beautifull black horses of Kand leaving Variag archers just... on foot. I karma you for the playful banter but mainly for the way in which you defend your idea. Good luck with your barbarian fulvio.

I want to get all the orcs to sing Where There's A Whip for Mauhur, but Tom will surely perceive it as masochistic. Besides, we do want to go to war today! Shadyt! You're sooo... quiet. You know I wanted my goblin to go head to head with Mauhur, but I guess it wasn't meant to be. Too bad. Anyway, I make a lot of noise for you now. I hope someone has a secret weapon or something to boost Mauhur's ratings. Time is running out!

Very intersting...
They seem that the las guy (n.40) that post his vote may decide which miniature will be produced.
How much dark power in a single man!!
...ONE VOTE TO RULE THEM ALL.

So it is! Always! Sometimes the Good wins and sometimes the Bad! This month is for the Bad . . . But what is good without bad? You need to have both parts of human (or elvish, orcish, dwarfish) nature to differ them (sigh!)! One has to fear evil, Angband, Gundabad and Mordor to be able to fight against them. When Orcs would be a more or less weird race doing no harm to other cultures, nobody would hate them, fight them, try to get rid of them! But they threaten others, they attack and eat men! They are bad! So when you fight them: you have to be good! Clear enough? So why not? We know how it ends: Elessar Telcontar defeats them in a long war. And now they are gone. Perhaps to other countries far away from Middle Earth?

Well, 20 hours to go. Perhaps more votes will show up to tip the balance again?

Masochistic Grond? ;-) although you do talk a lot about whips, chains, beat 'em, etc . . . . Hhmmmm!!! This is a great race, and I have no doubt that the two who do not win this time will be suggested again. I voted for Mauhur, but will be very happy with the Variag as well. And a late reinforcement from the Undying Lands may yet save the Elf!

The answer is: The subject You want to be cast, but time is running out.
This may be the last chance to ever see a Variag foot warrior miniature. I will not repost my old subject each month (i want to propose only new subjects) and unless a different person submit it, the Variag will vanish in the limbo of the fallen projects.

...And now what?
If not for the fact that Variags are present only in Mordor's army, the only solution is a vignette with the mighty orc commander Mauhur issuing orders to a Variag soldier... :-)

They are bad! So when you fight them: you have to be good! Clear enough? So why not? We know how it ends: Elessar Telcontar defeats them in a long war. And now they are gone. Perhaps to other countries far away from Middle Earth? You’re right about the necessity of both. However, the state of Good and Bad is a matter of perspective. I’m sure Sauron didn’t consider himself evil, nor did the orcs believe that they were the bad guys. If anything, the orcs probably perceived the elves and dwarves as greedy and immoral creatures, having so much more than everyone else: fertile lands, precious metals, knowledge, etc. Tolkien just made it easy for us to see them as monsters, describing them as dark and hateful creatures, with indiscriminate eating habits. By the way, it’s not all that strange for primates to feed on each other, A chimpanzee will kill and eat a baboon. And a baboon will not hesitate to eat other monkeys when given the opportunity. Man...now he eats everything under the sun and has practiced cannibalism since the beginning. Some islands in the Philippines still practice it to this day. The meat is called long pig. I believe they only eat their enemies though. Does that make them the bad guys? Who is to say that orcs are a weird race? I think little people, with long beards, who live in the ground, who mine and covet precious metals, are just a little odd. Or, what about pointy eared people, with ghostly pale skin, who frolic through the woods, talking to trees and supposedly living forever? I think that’s strange. Just remember, history (in this case the story) is always told by the victor - the so called good guys. It is not objective.

As there seems to be a tie for 1st place I will talk with Chris and see if we can find a way to break a tie. as our rules state, Chris can have the final say.

Chris Tubb has thought about the two choices and chose Variag Foot Archer to win this month. I added his vote to break the tie.
