Well Michael O'Brian, I just wish that Mithril will continue producing those nice little miniatures. I have to say that I really enjoyed every release in 2006 - I'm not exaggerating, by the way Yes, and I'm looking forward to having new miniatures in 2007. But ... I still haven't received those which are available at the end of November ... December, maybe... Now to be serious and honest .... I appreciate your work very much and have always spent a long time in digesting each release that happened to appear in my study. Huoommmm, so, if you could please let Mr Tubb know about this ... in case you meet him

Well, I will love to see in 2007 the boxed set of all dwarves from "the Hobbit" plus Bilbo and Gandalf.
I am not the first to suggest this, and I will not be the last one.

Dito, Ori! ;D I really can not imagine any reason which keeps Mithril away from realizing this great and very often wished release . It is a wish from the deepest of my heart that could so easilly be fulfilled . . . If it is too much: leave Gandalf and Bilbo out ! So, please, make Thorin´s Company in travelling gear or whatelse! [shadow=red,left,300][glow=red,2,300] But make it![/glow][/shadow]

My wishes for 2007 would be to get those Corsairs, Easterlings and Dol Amroth people onto the field of battle! But to ditto Theobald's first comment, just keep on producing such nice miniatures. My other wish would be to ask would Mithril (without giving away too many secrets) be able to give out a bit more information on forthcoming releases, i.e. how many figures are in a range - we know the Easterlings are supposed to have a few horses, but how many, what poses? Could some form of sketch or picture be made available? I ask this mainly because with the long periods between regular releases (almost Entish in some cases) it would be very useful so that ideas can be formulated for projects etc. We all know that some ideas have to be shelved/abandoned, but it would be useful. Hope I haven't been too greedy Anyhow, wishing all concerned a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Hi Michael! Thanks for asking us our opinions. I would very much like to see any (or all! ;D ) of the following: The Black Gate series (King Aragorn, Gandalf the Herald, Pippin in Gondorian wargear, some Rohirim and Gondorian captains, a few heralds, etc. facing off w/the Mouth of Sauron, standard-bearers, evil captains, orcs, and black trolls!) A certain 13 dwarves, 1 hobbit, and a wizard, all in travelling gear (make this one a boxed set). A certain 3 trolls, a spread of smelly bags with feet sticking out, and one hapless hobbiit. The ranges for the armies of Rohan and Saruman. Just a few ideas.

Viable ideas from the fellowship community that did not make it into a fs-release should be included into general releases wherever appropriate.
Spoken in ranges: - The company of Bilbo and the dwarves as a boxed set, either travelling, in Bilbos home (a good companion for these would be a resin piece detailing the interior) or in various poses. - the battle of the five armies - a range detailing each force - Prancing Pony II - a return to the mythical first Prancing Pony range, in which drinking and card playing characters give substantial life to Middle Earth. A must have for diorama builders and Tolkinists alike. - Forces of Gondor - a series depicting a typical soldier of each of Gondors provinces - standing if possible, combat poses eat up too much of the detail. In dioramas they could be used as sentries, after the battle-survivors, expecting the enemy or in the latter ranks of a force. - Forces of Mordor - the same, from the other side. Put them all in comparable poses so that the differences really show.

First, I wish that the corsairs would come out soon. Second, I would wish for a series based on characters from the North, including Halbarad on foot and random Rangers of the North (warriors, trackers, etc), maybe Arathorn, maybe Grey Havens elves...whoever else would fit in. Possibly some examples of baddies would be based on Striders comment that there are creatures within a day's travel from Bree that would make Barliman's blood run cold. There's plenty of room for imagination there.

Gandalf and Thorin Oakenshield & CO is long overdue. Poses could either be fighting (spiders or goblins) or on march.

Well I was just sitting there cutting bases off figures letting the mind wander (my fingers are still attached) when I thought what about an 'Armies of Osgiliath' set. Same as Mirkwood, goodies and baddies that could include Faramir and his lads as well as some 'standard' Gondorian soldiers for the goodies. For the baddies the normal orcs, a troll (or two, along the line of the MX Troll) as well as some other Mordorian soldiery would not go amiss. Perhaps the figures could incorporate a 'swap-it' design so that a maximum amount of figures could be produced from the minimum amount of 'base' figures (I would like to see this with any figures to be honest), i.e. spare arms with different weapons, possibly spare heads, if they don't have long hair, basically anything that could be priced within reason for both Mithril to make and us to buy. A thought

Ddaines is right as ever. As is wendy. As is everyone else.
I'd like to see the Wilderland range released. Your could release it as part of the MERP series, or rename and the MERP and Wilderland ranges as the "North" series. Since the Wilderland range is apparently sculpted, it would seem to be a logical conclusion.
And besides, as I said elsewhere, the Other Guys have come up with an Arnor series (not a very nice one at that), so Mithril could do that, and better.

Keep wishing . . .
- Men from Arthedain, Cardolan and Rhudaur! Warriors, hunters, shepherds, women and children! - Men and women of the Lossoth! The same type of guys and additional: men in kajaks, canoes or snow-shoes fishing or hunting seals with harpoons. - Noldorim of Eregion! Warriors, artisans, smiths. - People of Dale with King Brand. - More people of Lake-Town. - Black Numenoreans, like people from Umbar. - Dunlanders. More all-day-poses! Women and children in shown village life!
This would be very nice for all that people: scenes of actions when women making butter, preparing furs, milking cows or feeding chicken. Men carving spears or arrows, building traps for wild animals, sitting ´round a campfire and talking to each other. Or a proud hunter returning from hunting with a red deer on his shoulders.
Such things would allow a wide range and would give normal an warm touch to these people. It reminds me of the Prancing-Pony-Range. Normal pub-atmosphere, you know?

Are there any plans to produce more 54mm figs? I have just discovered them and I plan to game with them. More Rohan, Elf and Ranger poses would be very nice.

I would like to see "The Battle of the Five Armies" - range, including elvish warriors, warriors of lake-town, dwarves, wargriders and orcs and an eagle.

Apart from a "Ranger of the North/Wilds of Eriador/Whatever" Range, I'd also love to see a continuation of the MERP series to include the following character types. The names and concepts are inspired by the list of the template PCs from the 2nd Ed MERP book. Obviously, you don't need the names to make a "MERP" character. You just need the type. This is taken from a post I made over on Many Mithril Pages. The characters without an easy Mithril representative are: Indrazor - Black Numenorean Warrior. Leowyn - Rohir Warrior (aspiring shieldmaiden) Camthalion - Sinda Elf Warrior Lothiniel - Silvan Elf Scout. Galadhil - Dunadan Ranger. Widonu - Dorwinadan Bard. Lolindir - Noldo Elf Bard. Lamalas - Silvan Elf Mage. Elbragol - Half Elf Animist. Berelath - Beorning Animist. Lothiniel and Camthalion could be represented by M12 and M13, but Lothiniel is a Silvan Elf (minor issue) and Camthalion is likely better dressed for the weather Lothiniel as illustrated doesn't look too far from M13 or M320, though. So she is hardly a priority. Gavin

Indrazor - Black Numenorean Warrior is very wellcome. I sure hope we will have one in the forthcoming Corsair/Umbar series. Camthalion - Sinda Elf Warrior Lothiniel - Silvan Elf Scout. Why there is plenty of sindar warriors and scouts in M-series! Galadhil - Dunadan Ranger. Why don't you use some ranger from The Rangers of Ithilien series? (Just forget those names given.) Widonu - Dorwinadan Bard. Lolindir - Noldo Elf Bard. There are not many adventuring Bards... Maybe one or two more would be good. Lamalas - Silvan Elf Mage. - There are M11 Sindarin Elf Mage and M69 Silvan Seer, but they are quite old, rare and therefore they are expensive and hard to get. So a new Silvan Elf Mage would be good to have. Berelath - Beorning Animist. - Just use M92 Woodmen Animist, if you have it. Or is Berelath male? Then you can maybe use M18 Sagath Animist... Ok, here is not too many Animists, 3 actually, in M-series... So one more would be good.

More Rohan, Elf and Ranger poses would be very nice. 54mm figures are not made for gaming purposes. They are a way too big (and expensive) for that. Those are made for display and showcase painters. So don't even think about making 54mm miniatures for gamers, it would be just stupid and bad business...

Actually, I do know of a WWII game that uses 54mm. It's not huge battles, but more like skirmishes with individuals. Using those rules, I could see having a Middle Earth version.
I suppose I should give a wish example, just to stay on topic. ;D
How about an North/Imlandris release. That way any holes could be filled with some of the Elven Lords. (Elrond need not be produced.)

Camthalion - Sinda Elf Warrior Lothiniel - Silvan Elf Scout. Why there is plenty of sindar warriors and scouts in M-series! There are very few "character" types. My reasoning is that there is a qualitive difference between a typical warrior and a character warrior. The recent MERP minis, and the various MERP type character figures that have been released over the years tend to have more characterisation, detail and individuality over and beyond the more "soldier" type models. Example, compare the M12 Sindarin warrior to the M406 Battle of Mirkwood miniature. One is meant to be a character, the other a soldier. M214 is sort of in between the two. But I am greedy, I'd love a nicely dressed (not nekkid. Eriador is chilly this time of year!) and bow armed male Sindarin Warrior. And as I said, Lothiniel can be well portrayed with M13 and the rather less well done M313 (what's with the cutlass!?? And the weird neck?) I'd love to see, out of pure greed, an updated version of those minis...with more clothes. I tend to favour more clothes on female characters anyway, but I have an odd fondness for the illustration used to show Lothiniel in the character write up from the MERP book. It was recycled from an illustration of the southern "shadow elves" from the Shadow in the South book, a work I have great fondness for. Oh I have done so. I am an obsessive converter. When I buy a mini, out comes the jeweller's saw. I've made Anborn into a Gondorian warrior character, the Woodman Female Scout into an exiles Lossoth huntress and so on and so forth. But I'd like someone better able to portray Galadhil. But it still comes down to the Rangers of Ithilien being soldier models, not character models. Well, I sort of have the Sagath animist. It's owed to Master Buhman (AS SOON AS HE SENDS ME HIS MAILING ADDRESS!!! grumble, young people nowadays). But he is definitely an Easterling in dress and appearence. I want someone who is more Beorning in dress and appearance. Gavin

The Battle of Five Armies is my first choice also, including at least three warg riders. The forces of Isengard also need to be increased, more half orcs as well as the tower guard consisting of large orcs issuing forth with wood chopping axes to repel the Ent assault. The forces of Mordor could use another troll and another half-troll.

The figure that I really want is Eomer on foot! He needs to be in a battle pose for sure. I know you have the Helm's Deep series, but no Eomer at all. He was at Helm's Deep!

I'd love to see a Battle of 5 Armies release, with multiple Goblin Warg Riders as well. I'd buy a dozen!
