*Ello all. I love the Mithril figues and I have since they came into excistance. However, I have a quibble, their combat stances are totally unrealistic. My only wish is to see you guys produce your figures with more realistic combat stances. I better add that I am a Danish viking fighting re-enactor, I do martial arts with copies of viking weapons and train it one to three times a week. I also better add the place(s) to go and look at realistic combat stances;-) www.ask-vikingekampgruppe.dk (my group, based in Aarhus) www.ulfhednir.dk (our Copenhagener sister group) I can also send you a copy of a dvd with "The Battle for Moesgaard" where 240 warriors clash in competetive fighting over a weekend in four big battles. There you can look at realistic movement and stances. Especially as this year was very rainy and thus slippery. That would be soooo nice. Thanks for taking the time to read my missive and consider it.

But please be aware that we must adjust poses for fighting to suit the mould making as well. If we make miniature masters that do not fit properly into a mould then the figures will not cast correctly. If we have to redesign the figures excessively it delays releases and raises costs too.

I would agree with this concept.
Some of the Prince August and Mithril poses are...odd. This is especially problematic when you are trying to use the minis for wargaming and so on. You've got guys basically holding a shield up and saying: look, this is my shield. You've guys who look like they are dancing. You've fellows on one leg.`
I think you should take Palle up on his offer and study combat poses, and try and use these as much as the moulding techniques will alow.

Well, Mithril are not supossed to be specific designed for wargaming. In fact they do not have the license to do it. There are other brands for that.
However Mithril are the greatest miniatures for dioramas and single minis, and that is why I do like them.
I saw in the Viking pictures that after the mole picture, ther is a picture of a great viking banquet. I hope you have not eat the por mole.
