I'd love to be able to buy some more Orcs on Wargs.

Well, there's the current Orc on wolf (they aren't actually Wargs. You don't ride Wargs). There's the Salute Orc Chieftain on Massive Wolf figure. There's the other old orc wolfrider from the Orcs of the Red Eye series.
The other option is to convert: I bought some clearence Orc figures, and cut them at the waist. Then I bought two Mithril Classic Orc Wolf riders and cut those guys at the waist. I used green stuff to put them together. The results are pretty effective.

There are lots of us who would like to see more orcs riding large wolves. I have confidence that we will see some more eventually: Battle of Five Armies, Fords of Isen, and others.

I have been asking for orcs mounted on wolves since 2004. The salute 2008 figure is the only new one since then.

Well, first of all let me tell that aelfwine is absulutely correct saying that orcs cannot ride wargs ... they're wolf-riders. Maybe this irritation was caused by some movies and a certain company that released "warg-riders" as miniatures ... Concerning Mithril there are: M51 (Wolf rider with horn and scimitar) M314 (Orc rider on charging warg) M315 (Orc rider on running warg) and the PM296 (Goblin chieftain on enormous wolf) besides there are two other Mithril wolf/warg figures as the M25 (large warg) and the M223 (wolf sentinel) that's all I can remember ... but as you can see the words "wolf" and "warg" are not clearly distinguished - even by Mithril

Well, assumably a Warg looks just like a big wolf.
Probably with glowy red eyes and a bad attitude. They are spirits in wolf form. The creatures that attacked the Fellowship in Hollin were Wargs. So you could make a wolf figure a warg with a supernatural looking paint job.

And hope, that, my messages, more yours, and all the others, will change something, and make Tolkien enterprises, take care of its customer's wishes!! It's crazy to think that Shadyt ask for orc ridders since 2004!!! Or, may be, they even don't read what we write, and dont'care of us. So may be writing Mithill's web site, is just ok for connecting people mad of these figures, and make money, no more...?.. I dont care, this won't change anything for me, i'm one of these mad one!!! Well it could be cool to have more warg riders indeed... Still so far , 4 different warg riders exist, made by Mithril : M51 M314 M315 (re-released as MC33) and the PM496 (Salute Event figurine for 2008)
Though the M51 belongs to one of the rarest figurines to find, and the M314 is quite uncommon, the MC33 should be easy to get I think and the Salute 2008 figurine was a promotional figurine
You can see what they look like on my database website if you want (http://mithril.faerylands.eu)

I believe that we will have another wolfrider soon after the ban on mounted figures is lifted from the Gold Fellowship. Good things come to those who wait and it looks like more new members are wanting a new wolfrider.

Hi all, I missed hearing about a ban on mounted figures (designs)..,?
Wargs..in the film were depicted as huge wolf like creatures massively muscled making it somewhat top heavy and having huge jaws, in part feline sort of jaguar like and at the same time dark hounded crushing muscle. The beasts seemed tremendously agile and evily vicious.
Certainly never to allow a creature to ride it?

There is no ban on mounted figures for general releases, however we ask that our Fellowship club members adhere to suggesting single figures (not mounted single figures) until our sculptor has caught up with all the releases. This ONLY affect our club members in the Fellowship. Note: The film is inaccurate in its faithfulness to the book in many many ways, while enjoyable to watch we at Mithril completely ignore it as our license is from the original text of the book. Wargs were intelligent WOLVES, big and strong but not mutant hyenas mixed with sabre tooth tigers that the film had depicted.

OK, so now that we're past the orc/warg controversy, is there any chance we might see some in the near future? There certainly seems to be a lot of interest in more poses of orcs/goblins on wolves/wargs.
Further, I'd probably buy several of each pose, if I had the opportunity -- not so with a character. Surely sales would be helped by us folks trying to play games with these! I've been trying to track down M314 for years with zero luck.
On that note , if anyone out there has an extra M314 they are willing to part with, please PM me -- I have an extra Salute orc wolf-rider I could swap for one.

No! you are right before, the catalogue has an error. This is M315. MC33 is the old M314.

uh... I'll have to check that master Zoetrop, as my database also links the M314 depicted in this picture as the one in it (and thus MC33 being M315....) anyway, the picture you provided Fronkin does not have a Mithrill Classic I agree... as for it being M315 or M314 I trust master Zoetrop but that will be easy to check this evening at home..

For those of you who want a new orc wolf rider, we may have a chance to get one soon! Michael has hinted that the Gold Fellowship members might be able to suggest a mounted figure in July! If you want this wolfrider to happen join the Gold Fellowship now and be ready to vote for one possibly as soon as next month. Membership is currently on sale for 9.99 Don't just wait for it to happen, help make it happen!

Well, while I do want to see some more orcs on wolves produced, I'd rather them be a part of the general range -- NOT the gold fellowship range. The mounted figures in the fellowship range seem to be priced at 20-30 euros each, and that's not suitable for miniatures that people will want to build units of. The fellowship stuff seems more appropriate for rare characters, not unit-builders. I hate to say it, but I've pretty much given up any hope of ever seeing these miniatures. Even the weird movie hyena-style Wargs are starting to look better than no release at all.

I would also like to see some produced in the general range and I believe that this will happen eventually. Never give up hope for the figures you want! But even so, I would add a gold fellowship figure or two to a unit to add extra variety.

The Gold Fellowship members have been allowed to suggest mounted figures this month and there is a wolf rider that has been suggested. Join the fellowship club today if you want to support this miniature!

Well, if its any consolation, there's only one force (that I can remember off the top of my head, at least) fighting in the War of the Ring riding wolves (not wargs!): the orcs of Isengard.
Merry sees them riding with the orcs and half orcs as the forces of Isengard move towards Helm's Deep.
So maybe later in the Helm's Deep series?

The Gold Fellowship Wolfrider failed to win, we lost by several votes.

Sorry if the fellowship members are disappointed that the wolf rider didn't get enough votes, but where have the people been, who didn'd vote in the second round, I wonder? But that is not the end of the world, just resuggest it. only a matter of time
There are wolf-riders that can be converted to be a banner bearer but only one mounted wizard yet.
And even so a Wolf has won...
Heads up, fellows!
Cheers, Harry the Wolf

I don't know about anyone else, but I want new wolf-riders to be a part of the regular M-range. People need these to build armies, which means buying lots of the same miniature, not a single €30 collector miniature.

yes fronkin, you are right, better to have special figures for the Gold Fellowship instead of expensive miniatures for armies building, as no one would do that. I would like to see more wolf-riders as normal M-figures. Great idea!!
