I was thinking about various figure ideas in terms of the Fellowship. However, it occured to me that it might work better as an M-Series idea.
The Heroes of Gondor
This is an M-series themed around the War of the Ring and the Dunedain heroes who defended Minas Tirith.
Faramir - Ranger Captain of Ithilien
Faramir as Ranger, though posed something closer to the LO26 54mm Faramir or the 2004 Christmas Fellowship 54mm Faramir. This is Faramir at war, leading his men. The current M-Series Faramir is better served for a diorama scene alongside the Anborn figure.
Imrahil - Lord of Dol Amroth
This is Imrahil on foot, either in a combat pose, or a leading pose, or indeed, resting, looking on, ready to fight again. We already have three Imrahils on horse. One on foot might be nice.
Golasgil Lord of Anfalas
Golasgil is a Dunedain Lord who rules over the sparsely populated and poor province of Anfalas. He is dressed something like a ranger with a fine cloak over dark mail. An older man, perhaps, with wild hair.
Angbor of Lamedon
A lord of "grim hillmen" Angbor may not be Dunedain, but he is a feared man of Gondor. Though its implied he fought mounted, he might be portrayed here on foot, gripping a two handed sword. He wears garb inspired by some of the older Hillman and Dunlending clothes, but far richer. He wears a long mail coat and a fine cloak.
Duinhir of the Morthond Vale
Duinhir is the Lord of the Morthond Vale, who led a force of 500 Archers to the Pellenor Fields. He is a tall man, likely a Dunedain, and clad in the garb of a Gondorian Hir. He carries a mighty bow.
Derufin and Duilin of Morthond
The doomed sons of Duinhir were archers of Morthond. They are dressed as Gondorian soldiers, but they are unhelmed, and possibly garbed in a regal cape.
Dervorin of the Ringlo Vale
Dervorin led a force of 300 men to Minas Tirith. Likely he owes allegiance to Forlong the Fat. He's probably attired like one of the Warriors of Lossarnach. Maybe with an axe. Maybe with a big axe (Tolkien describes the Men of Lossarnach as "bearing great axes" rather than the hatchets Mithril gave them
Hurin of the Keys - Warden of Minas Tirith
Hurin is attired like a knight of Minas Tirith, in fine mail carrying a long spear and a tunic like the Fellowship Beregond figure. The tunic bears the blazon of the White Tree. Hurin is a tall, noble, figure, grim and serious.
Hirluin - Lord of the Green Hills
Hirluin probably looks like a Ranger of Gondor - green cloak, bow, sword. I imagine him carrying a shield with the blazon of his realm. Hirluin is doomed to die on the Pellenor.
And finally
Aragorn
Aragorn, dressed in a mixture of his Ranger clothes and the Rohir mailshirt from Helm's Deep. He is wielding Anduril two handed, and is deep in battle, his hair wild and matted with sweat. This is not the neatly combed Aragorn we normally see in the Mithril range. This is the warrior king in battle.
