Hi!
Question, if somebody could help us... We saw a lovely figure at some fan´s gallerypage. It was called "Aragorn at Pelennor fields". Do you know, if this figure is made by Mithril or is it a modification made by the owner?
Another question: When was made this Fellowship-range figure: MS299 - 32mm Gandalf and the Witch King?
Thank you very much! We are having great fun with the Fellowship!

Hi there, until another member with an exact reference replies, if you are refering to figures by Bill Harvey (conversions), I believe that figure may be one part of a double pack that includes Arwen. They are holding hands if memory serves me correctly.
I may be wrong as I don't have a handbook/catalogue available to look it up, but I am pretty certain of this (a bit like the builders of the Titanic!). Mithril have produced a couple of these double (lovers'!) sets so it may not actualy be Aragorn but I think it is.
David.

Do you know, if this figure is made by Mithril or is it a modification made by the owner? Hello voivalvatti, I am quite sure I can help you with the question, but I have to see the miniature. So, where did you see it? A Mithril miniature with the title "Aragorn at Pelennor Fields" does not exist. If I had the chance to have a look at the miniature you're referring to I could tell you if an Aragorn miniature by Mithril was used for it. A merry Christmas to everybody reading this!

The figure in question is in Bill Harvey's Conversions in the Fan Gallery pages on the Mithril site. I can't figure out which figure it is, but the sword must be a conversion as I've never seen a Mithril figure with a sword that long.
Merry Christmas! ;D

Well ... the answer is: It is Aragorn, produced by Mithril. - But: The figure is taken from a "Mini-vignette", as David remembered correctly. He also is right in saying that this Aragorn, in the original release by Mithril, is holding Arwen's hands (instead of a sword . The "Mini-vignette" (as there are two characters on a square base) is M 139, called "Aragorn and Arwen" and was released in 1990. - Bill Harvey took just the figure of Aragorn from this and added a sword to its hands. This is where Wendy is right, too. ;D Such a sword has never been in a Mithril mould - and I dare to say that it would never fit into the scabbard of the miniature. Nevertheless Bill Harvey explicitly named his miniatures "Conversions". In my opinion they're excellent and show a great skill in varying positions and context of Mithril miniatures. This also includes to replace or implace additional material (e.g. the sword). As I am a collector myself, I do hope that he has kept some of the original miniatures himself Concerning the MS 299 Zoetrop was absolutely right with 1995 (an absolutely nice vignette, by the way). Well voivalvatti, this is all I could find out for you today

Hi There V,
For information this set is currently on ebay (being sold as individual figures - the seller was not 100% sure of their origins). Try typing in Mithril under the search name. Not sure how this will work for international searches - this was a UK site search. I believe there is about 6 days left to go.
David. ;D

Thank you everybody!!! Very much help from you. Yes, we meant that Aragorn at Bill Harvey's gallery page. It was actually that long sword that caught our interest... But thanks to you we got all the information - you really seem to have professional Mithril-knowledge - impressive!
Thank you, now we'll try to get the figure from e-bay - and perhaps long (or even longer=) sword from Sauron's hand...
Voivalvatti
