I was wondering what people would think about mithril stocking the tools need for the assembly of some of the larger figures. I know the idea of them stocking scenery was suggested but the tools used to finish off the figures would be better as it would be a one stop shop for mithril. If mithril could stock the model drill, files, epoxy glue and sundries as it would be very useful..
What does everyone think about this idea?

;DWould it be cost effective for Mithril to do so? - there are I imagine, lots of stockists supplying these bits'n'peices for reasonable prices (sorry I can't quote any) already - depending which country you live in I suppose - and at cut-throat prices, as appears to be the norm these days.
Perhaps, and they may already, Mithril could list the top 10 most useful tools and possible stockists, having said that a couple of files, a pair of snips, superglue &/or epoxy adhesive, plus a suitable body putty (I find MagicSculpt is far superior to miliput & it tastes better!!) is usually adequate. I forgot to mention a fine tooth saw as well. Another very useful set of implements are some rubber tipped tools (they come in various shapes and hardness of rubber, but quite expensive for what they appear to be) that are very good for almost 'drawing' detail on. This stuff by the way is available in the UK, Ican't comment on elsewhere.
Anyhow hope the thought is of use.

Hi David, ... just to give you a "yes" You're absolutely right. I never thought of tools to be supplied - maybe as a set. What for? Everybody who is doing some painting on 32mm miniatures knows what kind of tools he's getting along with, I think. The price for this would be too disadvantageous. But what about exchanging experiences ? Shouldn't we start a new Thread about when to use a 0004 marten brush or a toothpick or even a needle? - As I have been making so-called table-tops myself for some years and still keep on painting Chris Tubbs' miniatures, I just think of the idea of helping each other. - Hm, I should ask Micheal if a new Thread of this kind would be sensible. .... Anyway - have a nice day (the snow comes down here).

I would go for it personally, we are never too old or wise to swap tips and learn new ones. Sometimes the simplest ideas are the most effective, and often you hear of something that is a brilliant idea, but one that you would never have thought of! Let's see what happens! P.s. I would also have to mention that the modelling tips that Michael includes on the newsletters offer great ideas, I must download them at sometime in case the older tips are withdrawn. David.
