Well, I got back to Ireland from London to find a nice package from Cork. And while I was very pleased with the minis and their quality...I realised that their packaging was very....dowdy.
It's all a bit dull. Included with the package was the special offer of an Orc archer mould. (I think I have that archer mould :-)) It also looked rather dull. Wonderful mould, dull package.
The Mithril box sets are likewise very old fashioned looking. The art is nice: it just looks a bit down market. In fact way too down market for the finest minis on the market today.
I was suggesting on another thread the idea of a permanent starter package, to be sold for retail. The only way to make this work would be to make the packaging very attractive. Look at Games Workshop: their box sets are bright, shiny, well designed and eye catching.
Here's a thought: GW are using old MERP maps in their product art. They aren't really meant to, but they are. Mithril on the other hand, could quite easily use old MERP cover art for their box sets. (This might, however, demand that you guys put out more box sets - eg, a Lorien box set with the various Battle of Mirkwood Lorien Elves, the Lorien Elf archer from Classics, and a Celeborn and Galadriel mini. Then use the old ICE Lorien cover.)
anyway, enough rambling. Time for more tea.

I'm completelly agree with those ideas. It would be like a warband pack: several miniatures, discounted price.
