Due for release in late April 2007. This online game has a Special Edition that will contain a Mithril Miniature 'Witch-King of Angmar'. This will be a primed 32mm scale figure created by Chris Tubb. More details about the game and our part in it can be found on our main website under 'Shadows of Angmar' link on the left menu. More info about the game can be found here: www.lotro-europe.com/

Congratulations! It seems like a well made deal. 40800 new embassadors to carry the banner, and hopefully you even made the odd profit with it.
If they finally manage to publish the system requirements for the game I could even decide wether I buy the game now or wait for the first dropouts on ebay.

The system requirements are someplace on the site - although I saw them on the US site, not the EU one. They require a reasonably decent computer, a big hard drive (the install is 9gb!), and about 1ghz of RAM.
But this is me going on memory.

Michael, do you know whether the figure is in the collector's pack or not? It says that all the things that come with the Special Edition come with the Collector's edition...

Well the pics shown on the website are very promising !
but can you now give us some news regarding the availability of this figurine, for sale outside the game? (or I misunderstood something, I read about "a clearance from the licensor to resell the figurine" Does that mean it MAY be available without buying the game?
and if there is a serie of figurine to be set on this game, where will there be available? in RPG shops like all the other figurines? or on other kinds or sale?

The German site says in its FAQ that the system requirements are not yet decided upon.
I am not sure wether I will play this one - going someplace else and explore it is well and nice, but seeing "Bree" being modelled with huge three story buildings might ruin it for me. Modelling Middle Earth for a multi user game is a risky undertaking...
On the licence issue, I hope that Mithril manages to secure at least one model each for the fellowship members for future "limited" releases.

well I suppose that securing one hundred or so among more than 40 000 is possible...
I know I won't play it because I don't like to "change" tolkien world, I prefer playing in other MMORPG (I actually play everquest 2) but I assume many people will be attracted to this game, still... the requirements will be huge I fear, and the rpg gameplay may ruin the "tolkien magic" of imagination...
I really hope I will get a chance to get my hands on one of this figurine without the need to pay 70€ , I would gladly share the price of it with someonw who would play it, only for the fig, but all the people I know want to keep their collector versions "full"..

Glad you liked the figure. I hear from Codemaster that Game (the retail chain) has aquired an exclusive for selling the Special Edition of Shadows of Angmar. So you can only buy it on their website or their shops. However if you wait until early May there should be figures on Ebay and I see no reason that the figures should be much more than 10 euros. Be patient. We are not expecting any descision from Tolkien Enterprises before 1st May. All the best Lars Edman

Go to ebay and buy 512mb. You will find that it will make a big difference to the general performance. Lars

Oh, I am well aware. I am a recovering computer technician after all I need to buy a desktop this year, and 1 or even 2 ghz will be my minimum requirement. (Along with being able to run the latest version of Falcon 4.0 and not having Vista anywhere near it ) Gavin

We cannot sell Mithril figures in conjuction with the online game. However we still have the right to produce any figures from Angmar. These figures will be available from any place where you currently buy figures. If you know of any shop where you like to see Mithril, send us an email to trade@mithril.ie. All the best Lars Edman
