Just a query ... does anybody have news about whether there will be a Christmas-figure 2007 this year? As there was one year without a Christmas-figure ... I am a bit concerned ... will there be another blank in the old tradition ? From 1988 or 89 onwards there was only 2005 being a year without a Christmas-figure, as far as I can recall. As this to me this is the most traditional Mithril-release ... it lasted longer than any of the other releases ... that could mean another lack in tradition ... I dare to hope that this tradition will not be broken twice.

I believe Chris is working on a Christmas figure, but it will be January before we get it.

Thank you very much, Mithril (you know who is addressed), that this tradition is being kept up. ;D

well the figurine looks great but I am quite surprised.... a chrismas figurine in 32mm?? that's quite new.... it had not been the case since... well 1989 which was 32mm but was a vignette... Has Mithril definitly stopped casting any 54mm at all ? Indeed there were no more LO for quite some time, but now it's the turn of the Christmas figurine. well... times change

It looks amazing (thanks Gildor, by the way). I think I'll buy it and knock the base off. It's too good a pose and a look to waste as a decoration!

Because you pointed me towards the picture over on the MMP website. Gavin

the 1989 chrismas figurine was... (though I don't have a pic yet ) a set of three 32mm figurines. I don't know if these three were on the same base or were separate but from the rumors I heard it was an Isildur and two others. probably elves or elvish like people. This 1989 set was released in 250 copies only as gifts or promotional figurines for dedicated shops... I'd do anything to put my hands on one of these Alas I fear Mithril has no more copies of it... but if they had, this would be a very valuable selling.

Well the Thranduil Xmas figure has arrived today and I must say it is a really very nice figure in its grey undercoat and the sculpted detail is very wel done especially on the details.
This is actually my first Christmas figure - I like the 54mm figures but haven't got around to getting any yet, one day perhaps ;D
So for those hesitating because it is 32mm and not 54mm I can only say that it is a very nice figure and will look fantastic when painted (for those that choose this option).
David.

It's a beautiful figure. I'm almost painted mine (I see that wretch, Mr. Daines got his done first - shakes fist at him!).
Pictures soon (and some of Imrahil!)

I had an advantage Gavin, I was helping a poorly dog get over an operation so I had some spare time on my hands Now however my 'little room' is full of boxes from the loft so I shan't be getting anything done for a few weeks at least I still think in the hands of a really skilled painter of smaller figures this Thranduil figure would look fantastic if the painter were to go to town on the fine details and paint patterns on the cloak etc.

My Tranduils arrived today and I have to say that it is a wonderful figure. I always liked that antique finish as being characteristic for (most of) those Christmas figures. Keep on with that tradition, Mithril, it really is worth it.
