I have no idea. It amazes me that a woman on foot can out-run a horse. But never fear, "Eorl be back," as Arnie would say...

Oh no, poor Eorl!
- seems there are some funny members lurking till the close end and then turn the steering wheel... – reminds me hard on ebay, always big surprises at the close end...
Well, so be it.
Barley - keep smiling :-) and keep on resuggesting Eorl !!! This was so close!

It was a darn good race - I'm confident that both Eorl and our favourite Lossadan hunter will be back (RTOFL - "Eorl be back" - I can only applaud your taste in quotes Barly!) in the not-too-distant future.

Hey there!
Sorry, Barli! I´m still wondering how this event could happen . . . You have to know that I was´nt convinced by my own suggestion in the beginning. All my former ones were growing directly out of my thoughts and emotions. And I had a good and strong feeling that other members should feel the same way. But it ain´t! Gilraen was "born" because I read in the time tables of the appendices of LOTR once more. Then I thought by myself: "Better than no idea. Arathorn was a good idea, too. And we`ll have a female Dunadan more, if it happens . . . " I wrote that I´ll even be happy with Eorl as an ancistor of the Rohirrim which I love a lot. And so I confirm it! You´ll have my support next time! And than the Lossoth Hunter. And then a dwarf again . . . Keep your back straight, head up and chin foreward!

Thanks for the sympathy, Bombadil! Eorl's day will hopefully come...
In the meantime, I'm sure Gilraen will make a very nice figure in Chris's hands.

Well, Barli!
August suggestions ended and now it happens! I could swear this is Eorl`s victory! No serious competitor in the field, I hope! There are more reasons to have a rider being released than only that it´s high time for Eorl! There´s no money left for a three-or-more-figures-vignette for about 50,- €! By the way: the first year is over and for me it was very exciting, some times disappointing, but never boring! And there´s a respectable number of real good new releases, though it´s depending on the personal taste.
Keep going on this way, Mithril!

I'm with ya Bombadil - I think it's been a brilliant first year for the fellowship although, as you say, I think it's important our eyes aren't bigger than our wallets, and we don't go for too many vignettes! And aye, it's definitely time for another run at Eorl, or run from Eorl, or Felarof. Go Eorl - go that good thing .

Actually, the year is more than over - Gilraen was the thirteenth winner, and Eorl will be the fourteenth... And I agree wholeheartedly that the number of expensive vignettes needs to be kept down. Only four of the first 12 figures were less than €20, and five were more than €30. My own feelings re vignettes are whether you love 'em or loath 'em, you can't necessarily afford 'em.

Well, I didn't get around to making any suggestions this month. I was busy. Indeed I didn't even get much work done over the last fortnight till yesterday! (fecking house buying anyway) However, I would have dropped my normal "elf-something" suggestion and called for Eorl.( I likes my Elves, precious... ) And Barliman has a point. I've spent every spare penny i've had this year on Mithrils and I still only have a handful of the Fellowship range, and none of the vignettes. Bolg looks stunning, however! It shall be mine, oh yes, it shall be mine! Gavin

Same with me, Gavin!
I´ll have a lot of problems next year, too! Hoping to have the permission for an intermission. I´m not able to get every month´s suggestion. Sorry!
But: Beorn and Bolg is a must! Perhaps for christmas . . ..
I´m trying to have a kind of contract with some collectors, to buy all the releases I can´t afford or which I don´t like . . .

Perhaps people could register, for year two, joint accounts.
A joint account has two or more members all in the same account. As long as the account buys 9 out of the 12 minis in a year, all is good. The account has one vote. The members can buy as many figs as they like.
So someone who loves collectable "ornamental" sculpts like Beruthiel can "team up" with someone who likes more versatile figures such as the King of the Dead, Eorl, Cirdan or whomever.

I assume that those who buy the ornamental scuplts like Beruthiel will also buy the versatile figures.
A decent option would be to buy ANY nine miniatures, including doubles. I am sure that in the medium run the very low production numbers of 225 will ensure that also the more esoteric sculpts will all find their collectors.

At the moment they're still celebrating their victory, but I think I shall have to ask Felarof to leave soon. My other customers can't get to the bar.
