Apologies for being a very infrequent visitor at the mo - very busy at this end - but not to busy to say that Gilraen is brilliant. it captures the feel of the moment perfectly, and is unique when compared with any of the other Mithril figs. Congratulations and thanks to both the suggestor and the sculptor ;D

I agree with Axe. The figurine expression, posture is exclusive, never seen before in Mithril. and it really captures the emotional meaning of the fleeing to Rivendell.
As always, Chris has made a wonderful job!

hello all! Now as Gilraen is released I can tell you, I had the green milliput figure of her in my hands when I was in Ireland! Michael was so kind to show her to me - but now cast in pewter, I only can say - she's even more beautiful! and it must have been destiny that she beated Eorl that voting month ago! I can't wait to order her! Congrats to the suggesting fellow member and Chris of course! Now imagine what Chris will made with King Elessar, Queen Arwen and baby Eldarion!!!! I really love that suggestion!!! (although I already have suggested Eldarion as figure once and there wasn't much interrest...) Cheers!

well I must agree that the "royal family of the fourth Age" (aragorn, arwen eldarion) represented with the same skill used to render the love, fear, and fleeing feelings in the Gilraen miniatures... well it would make something wonderful... indeed I also like all other ideas but as a "small vignette" that would really be cool.
(on the other hand, painting young aragorn in his mother's arms... will be quite a challenge, unless the top body of aragorn child is a separate part?)

Hey, you can´t imagine how I do feel: kind of proud, but even humble. Yes, I love "my" Gilraen! For me she´s a symbol for all the fugitives in the world: Victim´s of injustice and violence! All the parents, especially mothers, who try to save their children, threatened by all kinds of riscs for their own lives. Enduring countless wars, natural disasters, hunger and diseases. Those are the nameless heroines of mankind!
And . . . . (christmas is near) . . . . for me she looks even like Holy Mary on her way to Egypt with baby Jesus in her arms.

Bombadil, although Professor Tolkien would deny that image to the public and press, I believe in his heart that he would be pleased to hear you say that it makes you think so.

Hi Gildor:
I can tell you, Gilraen & Aragorn is a one piece figure, no parts to glue on. and I also think she is a challenge to paint!
Cheers

She arrived today and is every bit as good as the photo suggests. Once again the usual thanks to all involved.

Huoommm ... she arrived at my place too ... are there two of them? - Huoomm ... it really is a very nice figure - but it is the same to me: whenever you keep those minis in your hands that you just know from some pics provided ... it is different ... because they have become real and you can touch ....

Today seems to be "Mithril´s Day" all over Europe: Gilraen and her little son came to me, too! I am very satisfied with the reality of my 1. winning-suggestion . . .
And to fulfill the measure of joy for today the "Gate of Moria" gathered most of the votes. Ohh, yesss! Actually, I´m more than content . . .
