Hi krosbone, This is thought of as a regular M-release of an "Easterling Army". I think it was delayed a bit because a new regular M-release was put into production spontaneously and is thought of to be finished in 2006. There also are the "Corsairs" waiting to see the light (another series planned a long time ago).

Actually if I am guessing well, the new upcoming series should focus on the North region of Middle Earth. (thus, the realm of Arnor) I know Chris has been wanting to make a series for Arnor for quite some time but he did not have enough character ideas for a whole range in the north. Perhaps, picking character ideas in the MERP range may have solved his problem... But that's only a guess.
The fact that we have a Glorfindel vs Witch-King forthcoming (for the salute event) makes me think that Chris is indeed focusing on the events in the north during the Third Age and before the LOTR maybe. (actually Glorfindel vs witchking is an event occuring in Fornost, before the Siege of Angmar... and I had submited this idea in the fellowship... once...)

Well from the last email we received from Michael, it seems that some of the figures in this serie are not specifically MERP related. As a matter of fact, Malbeth and Aranarth are existing characters from the LoTR books (in appendices) . Though I doubt many people know of Malbeth, and I was surprised to see him in the mithril range, but gladly surprised

The Easterling release will be in 2007. We just postponed it as it is very large with lots of horses. Due to this postponement we reallocated the numbers so there would not be big gaps in the sequence between releases.
We plan to split the MERP release into 2 sets, one in late Nov/early December and the other part in the New Year.
We are also awaiting the next MS release and the Christmas figure for 2006.

I'd humbly suggest that the MERP series, while it is clearly a MERP set of characters...be renamed as the "Eriador" set. The Eriador M range can be used to lump in any character types you can't think of a good theme for.
I love MERP, but its been nearly a decade since the last MERP release, so perhaps it is not the best choice of terminology for the range. There are collectors who've never heard of MERP, and collectors who hate it based on second hand information, or collectors who are familiar with it, but think the fit is wrong, etc...
The Eriador range works just as well.

PS speaking of that not for sale castle bit, what happened to PA's scenery range?

PS speaking of that not for sale castle bit, what happened to PA's scenery range? The scenery is from Warzone and Chronopia and we only have a limited stock of them.

strange, a Christmas figurine that is not a personnality? that's strange... So far they have only been personnalities if I remember well

Hi I have suggested Malbeth in the beginning of the gold status and I'm very glad to see it in the new range. Thank you Chris Krosbone
