Welcome to another exciting chance to add your ideas and dreams to Mithril's LOTR miniatures. Post your suggestions here. ONE per member.
This is a single figure month, so please avoid mounted figures or figures with furniture. Also avoid large monsters bigger than trolls.
The only other restriction is that the figures MUST conform to our license, so NO Silmarillion based characters are allowed. They have to be in the Hobbit or LOTR books. The final say is ours and no arguement will be allowed. Ask if you are worried about its eligibility.
Please submit ideas in the following format ONLY:
IDEA TITLE
"this is why I think 'Idea Title' is a good idea for this month..."
Make the title stand out (within reason) and separate from any supportive text by a paragragh. This will prevent Chris accidently overlooking it when he compiles the voting list later on. Otherwise it could be mistaken as a comment not a new suggestion.
Please add some quotes about where it is mentioned or give descriptions to promote your suggestion. Even add a picture or submit it to me to add to the gallery page. If you drum up support NOW, the you have a much better chance when it is time to vote.
Voting will begin on the 23rd of October (first round). We stop taking suggestions at 16.00 GMT on the 22nd.
You may add comments about other members suggestions as well. If you post any suggestions elsewhere it may not be seen or credited. Please post any suggestions in English. (That is all I can respond in, sorry).

I suggest as the addition to the sucessful vote of Rogrog the warlord: King Ostoher in fighting poseIn T.A. 492, the Olog Warlord Rogrog led his orcish forces through Rhudaur and down the Gwathló valley to strike Cardolan from the east. The assault crushed the Dúnedain, and the Half-troll's armies swept northwestward along the Old North Road. Rogrog sacked the Cardolani capital, forcing King Ostoher to flee. Ostoher travelled north into the barrow-downs, hoping to reach Arthedain. Unfortunedly, Rogrog's Orcs cut him off before the King could take refuge in the Old Forest. from ICE's Lost Realm of Cardolanreferring to the cool picture of Angus McBride which shows Rogrog and the King, Ostoher fights without shirt and pants, just wearing a gilded breastplate of his predecessors, leather girding around the waist and high boots made of leather. futhermore he has a cape and a circlet around his head. he wields a two handed sword. How Ostoher will look like as a Mithril figure is up to Chris, of course, picture is just a example.from the complete middle-earth guide: OSTOHER (Quenya: 'fortress-lord') (3th TA 492) Dúnedain, seventh King of Gondor (411- 492), Ostoher rebuild Minas Anor and began the custom of dwelling there in summer ( Lord of the Rings III. 394, 403 - '93 ed. III 356, 364)

A new attempt Queen Mirien of Gondor She embodies in her person the spririt of Minas Ithil. She is a tall and slender Dunadan woman with long, straight balck hair and eyes of the deepest brown. She favors elegant and elaborate robes and wears little jewelry other than a delicate diadem set with a many-hued opal." Mornedhel Mirien is a character from Minas Ithil ICE module (as Junast is another one). The picture is part of the book and remains copyright to ICE

Congratulations to erchamion for his winning suggestion last month. I‘ve never heard of RogRog, so I imagine he’s something along the lines of Zalg. Regardless, the description and enthusiasm were right on. Can’t wait to see what he looks like! Good job!

Thanks my dear fellowship members!
Think of the super cool diorama that would be possible to do with Rogrog, Ostoher, some fighting and fallen orcs and some variied Minas Tirith soldiers, and - why not - a great stone circle!

Ranger sitting in camp on a missionIn this thread I thought about a vignette of a handful of Rangers on a mission. Now I suggest the first of these characters. One Ranger sitting on a rock, stump or fallen tree (whatever works best for Chris), having his cloak over his knees and fighting with needle and thread in an attempt to mend it (of course he is competent enough to win it). Cheers Tolwen

King Bladorthin (Long since dead) I've thrown King Bladorthin into the ideas pot a couple of times before, but here he is again. A mysterious figure never expanded on by Tolkien, was he a mortal man, or was he an elf? I see a mailed figure with 'Norman' style long shield and conical helm, holding either a sword or spear aloft as he inspires his men to follow him into battle........ The Hobbit reads: "From that the talk turned to the horde itself and to the things that Thorin and Balin remembered. They wondered if they were still lying there unharmed in the hall below: the spears made for the armies of the great King Bladorthin (long since dead)," This is the chapter "Inside Infomation".

My suggestion is also one that I've submitted before, though I don't recall whether it earned a single vote last time!
The Hand of Isengard
— as described in "The Two Towers": "...A tall pillar loomed up before them. It was black; and set upon it was a great stone, carved and painted in the likeness of a long White Hand. Its finger pointed north."
If any guidance should be needed regarding how it should look, I would suggest that the hand Tolkien drew on Thrain's map of the Lonely Mountain, as portrayed in "The Hobbit", is perfect.
