Would it be possible to have a figure of Feanor holding a Silmaril in his hand? A group of us who were trying to do the designer project, never got a clear answer if doing a Feanor figure would be possible (because it does mention him in the appendices at the end of Return of the King). I think a Feanor in elaborate armor, holding up the Silmaril gazing into the treasure that he would become obsessed over, with a flowing cape and shield, would be an extremely beautiful figure.

The reason for the delay is because of T.E. Legal department. They never got back to us. Personally I say we go for it. But it would be up to Lars (he is the boss).

Another vote for Halbarad here.
How about a slightly more complicated diorama piece - as Aragorn and the Grey Company lead the warriors of the southern fiefs of Gondor from the harbour into battle. Aragorn (use an extant pose, perhaps) at the centre. Halbarad beside him, and the Sons of Elrond wearing Elvish chain, and Ranger cloaks on either side. Maybe an anonymous Ranger with spear at the ready behind...
I am sure most of us have the odd Legolas and Gimli lying around to add to the scene.

I like gilgaladtolkien's idea of a vignette of Sauron fighting Isildur and Elendil. Sauron could be slightly larger then the two men, and have Elendil in combat with Sauron while Isildur is running with his sword out trying to reach his father before he dies.
And if the Halbarad idea is chosen, I would like to see a vignette of him presenting the banner of Arwen to Aragorn on horse, with a Ranger of the North on foot looking up at them. Or have a mini vignette of Halbarad fighting a Corsair captain. The base could look like wood planks (to be like they are on the Corsair's ship), and a small barrel in the background, or have them fighting next to the helm of the boat (the steering wheel part of the boat), like they are fighting over who is going to control the ship.

The idea of MBmotel17 is really great . I would like to see this figure of Feanor at his final triumph.

For a change of pace we could explore the Council of Elrond - Boromir urging the wise to use the ring, Gloin in his finery telling the tale of Balin's departure and Sauron's emissary, Elrond telling the history as the elves knew it, Aragorn revealing Narsil, Frodo bringing out the ring, Bilbo calling for some refreshments

Mounted Radagast, please! Alternatively, I'd go along with the earlier suggestion re the commanders of the provincial contingents that marched to Gondor's aid in TA3019 – such as Hirluin, Duinhir, Golasgil, or (my preferred starter) bearded Forlong the Fat in mail and helmet, mounted on his thick-limbed horse.

How about going right back to where it all started and produce a figure of Tolkien himself, i.e. with pipe in hand, perhaps sitting in the roots of a gnarled tree (like in some of the photos etc). probably as an older man - most of the photographs i've seen in book jackets etc. show him at this age.
failing that the Fellowship in the Lorien boats - I still haven't finished that diorama so i'm re-submitting my suggestion! (please).
all ideas appear sound. also, i may have missed it somewhere in the recent problems i've had with iternet acces, but i note some suggestions are not LotR - is the licence issue still relevant, i.e. Feanor, Turin etc.

Great idea! I just read that Sideshow WETA produces a PJ statue as this corsair. I immediately thought about a Tolkien-miniature . . . Maybe a not so obvious way to honour Tolkiens work is to produce three little playing hobbits namely John, Ronald and Reuel

I like this last two ideas!
A miniature of Tolkien sitting or walking in the garden and the idea of the hobbits John, Ronald and Reuel.
They can be a great figures for gold members I think.

While it is a nice idea, I believe we may have to consider a license issue with Tolkien's family if we use J.R.R's likeness. We are licensed for the books with T.E. but Tolkien himself is outside that license.

If your license covers LotR and tH, I think Tolkien is deeply involved in this license. To produce a figure with his name should not be the problem. But if the figure looks like Tolkien himself (it is the clue!), Tolkiens familiy had to give the permission, no doubt. Concerning my idea of the three little Hobbit kiddies, maybe these names are chosen by chance

First off, thanks very much for the opportunity to be a member of this board! I've been a collector of Mithril for many a year now, and the idea of seeing Chris sculpting such wonderful visions into reality is awesome. Hmmm...the two I would like to see most would be the Gandalf at Bilbo's door with all 13 dwarves and one very surprised hobbit. And of course Bilbo and company captured by the Trolls. You could have the trolls sitting in a close circle, arguing. Biblo is hiding behind a stone. You could also have a few dwarf-sized sacks close by, perhaps with the odd pair of boots sticking out.

I would like to see the dwarves of The Hobbit, too. But I think it would be more interesting or better "dramatic" to picture them as a caravan, troding through thunder and lightning in the Hithaeglir. For example: Kili and Fili as pathfinders, pointing to somewhere in the distance to "that" very special cave. Or some of the others, let´s say Oin and Gloin or Bifur and Bofur pulling and pushing the frightened ponies. Others staring fearful to the tops of the mountains to see the Stone Giants, throwing rocks towards them. Gandalf, keeping his hat with one hand on his head. Thorin, looking fierce and tough because of this perilous obstacle. And so on.
Another suggestion for a Vignette: Gollum, tortured by some orcs and the king of Nazgul to find out, where the ring might be.

I was also part of the group trying to get a Feanor figure made, so I'm going to include my vision of what it could look like (licensing isuues aside, of course Feanor holding a Silmaril aloft in his left hand. But it is clenched in his fist, palm facing away from him, in a gesture of arrogance and contempt. (NOT like MS225, holding a ring aloft and admiring it's beauty.) He could be leaning on a long sword and Noldorin shield with his right arm, symbolizing his vow to fight and die for the gems, daring anyone to come and take them. A cloak would be nice too, but no helm so his long hair would flow. Looking forward to the vote!!!

Regarding a Halbarad figure, I'm fine with having him fighting a corsair or with Aragorn, or by himself. I would really like to have him holding the standard, though. He could be fighting the corsair with the standard in his right and and his sword in his left. (I think he's a lefty:) (Would they have unfurled the standard while fighting the corsairs to encourage the locals so they wouldn't just flee completely?) If he were to be fighting a corsair, what would a corsair look like? Even if he isn't made fighting a corsair, I'm sure some of us would like a corsair figure made, so it would be good to figure how they should be designed.
I'm sending some pictures of sketches I made of armor and weaponry I think Halbarad might have worn.
I have added your pictures to the Gallery page on Mithril's Fellowship website. Thanks..
