Welcome to another exciting chance to add your ideas and dreams to Mithril's LOTR miniatures. Post your suggestions here. ONE per member. This is a single figure month, NO Mounted options will apply. Examples of past single figures include the King of the Dead and the Lossoth hunter. Due to the increased workload on Chris, he has asked that we accept only single figure suggestions for the rest of the year. I know it will disappoint some members but what is the point in winning the vote if the figures never get made and Chris is trying to work on general releases as well. The only other restriction is that the figures MUST conform to our license, so NO Silmarillion based characters are allowed. They have to be in the Hobbit or LOTR books. The final say is ours and no arguement will be allowed. Ask if you are worried about its eligiability. Please submit ideas in the following format ONLY: IDEA TITLE "this is why I think 'Idea Title' is a good idea for this month..." Make the title stand out (within reason) and separate from any supportive text by a paragragh. This will prevent Chris accidently overlooking it when he compiles the voting list later on. Otherwise it could be mistaken as a comment not a new suggestion. Please add some quotes about where it is mentioned or give descriptions to promote your suggestion. Even add a picture or submit it to me to add to the gallery page. If you drum up support NOW, the you have a much better chance when it is time to vote. Voting will begin on the 17th of October (first round). We stop taking suggestions at 16.00 GMT on the 16th. You may add comments about other members suggestions as well. If you post any suggestions elsewhere it may not be seen or credited. Please post any suggestions in English. (That is all I can respond in, sorry). If you have any questions then post in the other thread provided for such questions. GO TO GALLERY PAGE: www.mithril.ie/Fellowship/gallery.html

Hi, This idea was suggested the first time by Twrich, but I'd like to have this figure and so I suggest it again:
FEMALE ASSASSIN OF DOL AMROTH!
The cover picture of the ICE adventure module "Assassins of Dol Amroth" gives a good impression how a female assassin could look like.

With permission from Bert, the troll, who is another of my favorites in case suggested, it is time for the race of dwarves be represented in any figure of the GF. And what better way than with a king of Khazad-Dum: DURIN VI, KING OF KHAZAD-DÛM, FIGHTING THE BALROGKing of Khazad-dum when the Balrog awoke. Durin VI was born in T.A. 1731. His father's name is not known. Durin VI strongly resembled his ancestor Durin I, who was called the Deathless because the Dwarves believed his spirit lived on in the descendants who bore his name. It was even said that the Dwarves called Durin retained the memories of the previous Kings of that name. In 1980, the Dwarves of Khazad-dum were mining for mithril deep below Caradhras when they encountered a Balrog. The Balrog had slept beneath the mountain since the end of the First Age. It may have been roused by the Dwarves, or it may have awakened in response to the growing power of Sauron in Middle-earth. Durin VI was killed by the Balrog, which was known to the Dwarves thereafter as Durin's Bane. Durin VI was succeeded by his son Nain I, but he too was killed the next year in 1981 and the Dwarves abandoned Khazad-dum. Appendix A of The Lord of Rings: "Durin's Folk," p. 352-53 and genealogical table Best regards

THE 'WOLF HEAD' OF GROND I don't have a good feeling that this will get past the censors however, as there is a good chance the Three Trolls will get in via the back door ;D, here is my suggestion for getting at least part of Grond through the door as well. My idea: A simple sculpt depicting only the actual wolf's head part of Grond, but designed in such a way that the modeller only has to add a 'scratch-built' ram part and housing if he /she (Wendy) so wishes, or the modeller could utilise the Gandalf and Witch King Fellowship vignette then only a small part of the ram needs adding by the modeller. I was going to do a sketch, but the design is best left to the sculptor, all I would suggest is two metal brackets that would be the method of securing the head to the actual pole. Grond they named it, in memory of the Hammer of the Underworld of old. Great beasts drew it, orcs surounded it, and behind walked Mountain Trolls to wield it (The Seige of Gondor). To be realistic the head would need to be of a size that doesn't cause this piece to cost a king's ransom, but I believe the actual design could be quite simple, it's just how the head is visualised (like a ravening wolf) and scaled to look right. We will never have the whole Grond, but I would happily settle for its head!

Mae govannen mellon,
As there are no mounted figures allowed and kings seem to have no such great chances I would like to 'resubmit' an idea of old: [glow=red,2,300]Hirgon[/glow], riding errant of Gondor (kneeling befor Theoden, king of Rohan). As a part of all those new Gondor- releases I think this figure would be nice to complement this “series”. Hirgon (well no mounts allowed) should be kneeling before Theoden (you could built a diorama with the old M27 ;-)), holding the red arrow in his hand. Hirgon should have a cloak, very light, but nicely decorated armour, maybe more leather as he has to be fast and not a fighting heavy cavalry knight, some royal look as he is important and not a commoner in Gondor, a nice sword at his side, some daggers in his belt and at his back.

Let me have another try:
Tarannon Falastur
The 12th King of Gondor and first of the 'Ship-kings'. Imho this could be a wonderful figure to complement the "Berúthiel-vignette". let me quote please:... and that King Tarannon had her sent set on a ship alone with her cats and set adrift in the sea before a north wind. The ship was last seen flying past Umbar under a sickle moon with a cat at the masthead and another as a figure-head on the prow. (The Lord of the Rings, Appendix A,I,ii and iv)

It has to be
BOMBUR AT THE BATTLE OF FIVE ARMIES
again for me! I know I keep suggesting him, but he deserves to feature in the Mithril range, and putting him in armour from Smaug's hoard would broaden his usefulness for diorama builders and wargamers alike. There never has been a Bombur in any range of LOTR figures of which I'm aware, so he's certainly overdue for attention from someone.

Bert the Troll Once we have William and Tom in our hands I don't think that we will want to wait more months or years to get the third troll. I believe that he has been suggested before by others. I am ready for him now.

I`ll suggest
Narvi, working on a Westgate stone again.
There are some great big Trolls on Chris´ to-do-list now. So let us give him a little one, a dwarve, so he can take a deep breathe for a moment.

Again, I don't loose hope because I know there is a numerous part of collector fellows who also want to see Elronds wife released:
LADY CELEBRIAN
Celebrian, wife of Elrond Half-elven with flowers in her golden hair dressed in noble elven garments.
Celebrian is a character, that wasn't released so far: We have miniatures of Elrond, Elrohir & Elladan and Arwen already, but there is one still missing to complete the family:
Lady Celebrian - fair haired daughter of Galadriel & Celeborn of Lothlorien wife of Elrond and mother of the twin brothers and Lady Arwen
There is the story, that she travelled once from Rivendell to Lorien and she and her travelling party were attacked and captured by cruel orcs. Celebrian was rescued quickly by her brave sons, healed from a serious arrow wound by Elrond. But she got sad of middle-earth, so she went over the sea to the undying lands and left middle-earth some time ago.

I would like to re-enter my suggestion from last month of Aragorn in a fighting pose at Amon Hen for this month's entry. Everyone has such great ideas for figures every month and I hope they will all see the light of day from the very talented hands of Chris!

Bard and the old thrush
"Suddenly out of the dark something fluttered to his shoulder. He (Bard) started - but it was only an old thrush. Unafraid it perched by his ear and it brought him news. Marvelling he found he could understand its tongue, for he was of the race of Dale."
I imagine Bard to be holding a long bow (bigger than the M series Bard anyway) looking at the thrush on his shoulder with an astonished look on his face. (By "looking at" I mean his head is turned towards the thrush, but not looking directly at it - the eyes are looking at the thrush though, which is more in the painting than the sculpting.) Quiver should be empty and Black Arrow in hand.
It's a rather pivotal point in The Hobbit, and I think would make a nice fig deserving of the extra bit of attention to detail that fellowships minis tend to receive.
(Yes, it's verbatim from last month. Thought I'd give him a go again.)

And rightly so! A very worthwhile suggestion which I liked very much the first time round.

This is sort of a merger of ideas...
A Sindarin aventurer/mariner of the Grey Havens
(This is a merger of other ideas that have floated around)
A tall Elf adventurer, wrapped in a great cloak against the cold winds of the northern sea, face into the spray and the wind... his long hair free in the breeze. His right hand resting on his sword hilt, perhaps to remind himself that it is there, perhaps as a threat to the Corsair whaler hoving into view.
Beneath the cloak he wears a simple shirt over fine leggings and sturdy boots - like a cross between the LR series Elrohir and Gildor Inglorion
Perhaps his left hand is resting on the prow of the grey elven vessel, or maybe even holding a small harp as he plays for the wind and the sea birds.
